- Nicole (10/5): - We would love to have such a garden and view at home. Absolutely stunning! Even the dish washing was fun. Nothing!!
- Marcelo (9/5): Hermoso Cottage con vista al río - Una casa muy bonita , con detalles de decoración cálidos , con una vista hermosa . Muy limpia . Y nos obsequiaron un vino de la zona muy bueno
- Ilya (10/5): Where stunning scenery meets cozy living - A wonderfully cozy holiday home with a fully equipped kitchen and outdoor BBQ area. The views are simply breathtaking - you’ll find it hard to leave. The bed was very comfortable. Every detail of the interior has been designed with great taste.
- Stephen (8/5): - Views of the Tamar river where exceptional. The welcome pack, snacks and wine great. The prompt service by the caretaker after a small issue was amazing. Enjoyed the peaceful ambience and beauty. Was a very relaxing place to stay. Nothing was a top place to stay.
- Li Neo (10/5): - The view was amazing. It was a pity that we couldn't take our breakfast on the porch as it was too cold.
- Helen (10/5): Perfect location, great views, very comfortable home away from home - So comfortable and what a gorgeous outlook while we had our meals. The deck was super and I can imagine barbecues at the huge outdoor table would be awesome! Easy non contact checkin/out and the kitchen was extremely well equipped. Very comfortable beds and lovely hot showers. Nothing! Loved it.
- Helen (10/5): Exceptional - The view was stunning. Its a lovely cute cottage Perhaps a slightly unusual main bathroom
- Sara (10/5): Exceptional - A gorgeous, cozy little cottage with every need catered for! Beautiful gardens and the most stunning views imaginable. We stayed only two nights and wished we could have been there for much longer. Certainly not a complaint, but once you arrive it is difficult to tear yourself away to do anything else - just wanted to sit and look at the view all day. Which is, in fact, mostly what we did!
- Craig (10/5): Perfect - Great location and very clean Wildlife can get noisy at 4 am but that’s Tasmania!
- Kenneth (10/5): A gem of a place with a great view - This place was a pleasant surprise. It was in excellent condition, well decorated and had everything we could possibly need. The landscaping was a treat and the view of the river was outstanding. The location was great for us as we explored Launceston and the surrounding area. If we are ever in this area again, then we will definitely try and stay here. Nothing comes to mind.
- Chris (10/5): A beautiful cottage to relax & unwind with breath taking views. The rooms were lovely and very cosy. -
- Gregory (10/5): Used Olives Cottage as a base to wander about Northern Tasmania. Stayed for eight nights. We loved our pre dinner drinks - Cosy, comfortable well appointed and quiet. Nothing
- Stephanie (9/5): Relaxing, fully contained and great property owners. - Great view, comfortable, close to everything but still serene and relaxing. Chairs and sofa in the lounge are not the most comfortable. Something more modern might work.
- Glenn (1/5): Absolutely atrocious the worst place I have ever stayed in my life - Everything
- Dwayne (8/5): Very good -
- Stephen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gaby (9/5): Peaceful, beautiful and cozy stay. - Wonderful, peaceful location only 20min from Launceston. The cottage has everything you need to make your own meals, once you arrive you don’t have to leave.
So many places to sit and relax and enjoy the view of the river.

- Navin (10/5): Our best stay, during our trip to Tasmania, was at Olives's cottage. - The Views were amazing, The Kitchen was very well stocked. the quality of the house was above par. we shall definitely visit again.
- Miriam (10/5): Lovely little cottage getaway - The cottage was lovely. Spotless and well equipped, cosy and charming. Location was great and the view was beautiful. Everything we needed had been considered. Highly recommended and I would definitely book this cottage again. Great for 2 singles, or 1- 2 couples. Beds were really comfortable. Dishwasher and washing machine were greatly appreciated. As a disability support worker, the only issues i could see were the steps into the back garden and the pebbles in the driveway and front path. For a person with mobility issues, this may present a problem. My friend managed perfectly fine when using her walking stick, but using a walker might have been a problem.
- Julie (9/5): Drink in the Views - Olive’s cottage instantly makes you relax . The comfy, well appointed cottage, the views and the big bed that should have it’s own postcode!
So well located to easily access Tamar attractions. We did wine tastings at Bay of Fires, lunch at Barnbougle , visited Launceston and did a lunch and wine experience at Josef Chromy. Sounds like we were constantly on the go, but we spent many hours just drinking in the views at Olive’s. This is really minor, but the outdoor settings could use a cover between guest stays as naughty birdies left messages on the chairs and table . Maybe some bird scarers or wind chimes might deter them too.
- Bruce (8/5): Enjoyed our stay loved the outdoor seating area and fire pit with views over the river - beautiful - loved the main bedroom and the outdoor seating area by the fire pit so beautiful to sit and look out over the river.
kitchen very well stocked with everything needed for a short or long stay. thank you for the wine it was lovely. the electric bbq did not work properly - could not manage the heat. our friends did not like having the washing machine part of their bathroom. It would have been nice to have a dryer as able to do washing but due to weather unable to dry.
