Guest Reviews
- Ashley (8/5): -
- Maree (8/5): - Great location, lovely verandas, very comfy beds
Beautiful backyard with coppery and common brushtail possums and a short walk to see the famous platypus.
Easy access to everything the town and region has to offer. Cooking facilities limited. An electric frypan or airfryer or BBQ would make all the difference.
Ceiling fans didn't work well - a pedestal fan would have been perfect for the mild tableland's climate - air con is not needed.
A dryer for wet days to dry washing and towels is probably necessary given the annual rainfall in beautiful Yungaburra.
But these things did not detract from a lovely stay in a beautiful holiday home.
- Julie (10/5): - Clean and tidy, beds and bedding were very comfortable. Driveway bushes could be trimmed back to allow easier access with car
- glenys (8/5): -
- Catherine (9/5): Charming cottage in great location - Felt like home from home
- John (7/5): Good spot for platypus exploring - Location was perfect. Kitchen was limited, but exactly as advertised.
- Mozelle (9/5): -
- Simone (9/5): -
- Leonie (9/5): Quiet and homely. - Lovely, old style cottage, comfortable and very well equipped. Welcome pack was a pleasant surprise. Minor maintenance points, dripping shower and front door not latching properly. No bin for recycling available.
- Susan (9/5): Cute, comfortable cottage in a great location. - Cottage is in a great location, easy walking distance to Yungaburra village. Enough space for a family of four with a large outdoor deck with a BBQ and small yard. Quiet location. Overall clean and comfortable. It's an older cottage and quite rustic. Air conditioner is in the living area only therefore you need to keep doors open to the bedrooms to cool them (no AC system in bedrooms). We visited in December when it was hot, AC worked mostly well but did take a long time to cool the bedrooms down. Car space is not undercover, we got a saturated unloading the car and tree branches / leaves made a mess of the car, maybe park on the street.
- Muirhead (9/5): - Breakfast was good and free bottle of wine was a very nice touch and a lovely surprise and the cottage would be lovely in winter with the pot belly fire burning. The shower kept dripping after turning it off.
- Angus (10/5): -
- Jacqui (9/5): Peaceful Retreat - No bugs!! Except for a few ants, Mum hates spiders and the house was free of tiny visitors!
Complimentary breakfast and bottle of wine! Beds were comfortable, loves the windows oto the balcony, aircon was very welcome, price was perfect and availability in such short notice! Good communication during a breif blackout. Nothing really bad. Fridge door needed extra push, and couldn't find a dustpan and brush? But these are not at all problematic and didn't impact on our enjoyment of the stay!
- Jordan (8/5): -
- Gerda (8/5): A comfortable stay in private surroundings -
- Claire (9/5): Fabulous cottage, great location, cosy and comfy! - Lovely little cottage, suited our needs just perfectly. Didn't see the hosts at all during our stay, which was absolutely fine by us as we had no need! Kitchen and utensils etc are possibly a little dated, didn't spoil our stay at all but I'd say an update could be due soon.
- Helen (10/5): - The space
Close to town could walk
Clean and inviting O air conditioner in bedroom
- Toon (10/5): Little cottage in paradise - I loved being in a copy little cottage. Loved all the windows around the doors and waking up to birds calling. I hate to say it but the kitchen chairs. Those metal chairs are so uncomfortable and don't really suit an old style cottage.
- Lilian (10/5): - Beautiful house! Had everything we needed. Nice deck to have breakfast on. And the kids loved the games cupboard.
- Dianne (7/5): Average accommodation and a bit pricey - The breakfast was just average - a few spreads for the toast would have been nice and leave the butter out of the fridge as it was too hard The shower head was dripping the whole time quite annoying
- Todd (7/5): Clean, comfortable, quiet and centrally located. - Close to the village Could do with amenities ( shampoo/conditioner)in the bathroom and some of the utensils especially in the kitchen need upgrading.
- Lister (10/5): - Lovely & cosy cottage that has great charm.
Close to the centre of town.
- Janice (10/5): Thank you for all your help after us locking the key in the house - lovely old time property Not much at all
- Kerry (8/5): Comfortable cottage and helpful and friendly hosts. - Good location and everything required for short stay, with cooking and clothes washing facilities. Poor TV reception on 2 of the main free to air channels.
- David (8/5): -
- Julie (8/5): - Cute cottage with private gardens. Lovely front and back deck to sit and enjoy the garden. All the essentials were provided with an easy walking distance to town.

- Valerie (9/5): Superb -
- Leasea63 (8/5): Nice little cottage in a good central location - Location of property No BBQ or oven
Couldn't access free to air TV stations
- Judith (7/5): A nice cottage to stay in for a short time. Good location for exploring the tablelands. - Lovely to have breakfast provisions provided and the bottle of wine. Good location to walk to the shops and hotel for dinner. Very comfortable beds. There was a very limited selection of TV channels and as there isn't much to do in the evening that was disappointing.
While there was a washing machine there is no drier, and as the weather was wet while we were there, we used the clothes airer in front of the heat pump.
- Jennifer (9/5): Superb -
- Ian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Robyn (9/5): Great, will recommend & stay again - Excellent location. Brekky was a bonus
- Post-werchon (9/5): Superb - The extra goodies were a lovely bonus
- Jennifer (10/5): Exceptional - Great location! Cozy cottage in quiet neighborhood!
- Elizabeth (5/5): Raining, the house was okay better with a drier and washing machine under cover. - Good Fire alarm in shower needs new washer, the locks on the doors ,we felt a little unsafe, no mirrors in the main bedroom.
- Blair (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rhonda (10/5): very cosy, homely and comfortable. Reminds me of my Nana's house in Millaa Millaa - The location was central and very convenient Back door locked
- Trish (7/5): Overall I would recommend the cottage, as it was in a fantastic location, had charm. - The hosts provided an amazing supply to cook our own breakfast and I loved the location and quaint cottage appeal. The bathroom sink had mould growing near plug hole and the bed was hard.
- Andrew (8/5): Very good - Could use a BBQ and some simple bits like scissors ect
- Dafna (9/5): Superb - Lovely cottage for a great stay in Yungaburra. Highly recommend .
- Bronwyn (6/5): Overall, a pleasant place to stay. Comfortable dining chairs would be great & clean grout in shower. - Very convenient location. Bedrooms nicely set up Bathroom could use a deep clean. Air conditioning inadequate. dining chairs unsuitable.
- Andrew (9/5): Superb -
- Pam (8/5): Very good - Location was great, close to village. Beds comfortable TV very small .
- Melanie (8/5): Quaint little cottage and very comfortable - Wonderful and homely little cottage. Welcome gifts were great, hot water in the shower was amazing, beds were comfortable, back patio was perfect. Kitchen appliances and cooking utensils were very handy. Close enough to walk into town. I was expecting a little oven, but we ended up improvising and making do.
- Colleen (9/5): Superb - The cottage was really charming and set in a lovely garden.
- Sheryl (10/5): Exceptional - Very central to everything. Comfortable beds, very clean. Home away from home

- Melissa (9/5): Wonderful stay in a beautiful cottage with lovely owners - Location. Amenities. Nothing
- Hannah (10/5): Perfect baby-moon - Love the feel and how close it is to everything. Nice and quiet and plenty of space inside and out. The air-conditioner struggled and the rooms were hot but would be lovely in the cooler months
- Wendy (8/5): Very good -
- Nicole (10/5): Wonderful place to stay -
- Jenna (10/5): The perfect getaway in the tablelands - They had everything you could ever need there and even included extras like some bread, eggs, milk and wine. It was very close to all of the sights around the area and it was very clean. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay Nothing we didn’t like
- Sue (6/5): Beautiful spot, clean house, more comfortable furniture would of made for a more enjoyable stay - Cute cottage experience in a great location Beds were terrible & no comfy seats to sit in
- Bianca (10/5): Relaxing - The homely feel & country charm. Very clean, comfortable beds & lovely gardens.
- Jackie (9/5): Superb -
- Brendon (10/5): A beautiful hideaway stay - Beautiful location, lovely outside space (front and back), everything you'd need for a stay.
Lovely shower.
Nice surprise of a bottle of wine and breakfast pack left for us.
Close to the Platypus viewing area and the Curtain Fig Tree. Nothing
- Veronica (8/5): This was our second visit and again very enjoyable. A little chilly in August compared to December! - Charming cottage with 2 good bedrooms and suitably equipped kitchen. Deck and garden well maintained It was very cold at night and the double bedroom was difficult to heat even with the door open. Maybe an electric blanket would be an improvement. A few more table and/or bedside lamps would be nice.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Exceptional - Homely and comfortable Pity about the rain so we couldn't enjoy the lovely patios
- Robert (10/5): An enjoyable visit in a fabulous location. - The location is within easy walking distance of the township of Yungaburra. Any imperfections the property may have just gave it the homely feel. My wife and I enjoyed the stay immensely and it was good to light the fireplace to keep warm at night. We didn't find any issues with the property.
- Walker (9/5): Very pleasant cottage that was roomy and had all the essentials. We used a bedside table as a -
- Viv (5/5): Comfortable for short stay - not for longer - ? Fly screens on window . A nice fireplace . Very hard to start and keep burning. Not enough cooking / pans pots to use. Could not leave windows open . As fear of insect invasion.
- Carolyn (9/5): Lovely little Cottage - A lovely little cottage in Yungaburra which is a very pretty town. An easy walk to the Main Street to a great little coffee shop.
The beds were comfortable and a breakfast basket for the first morning was a nice touch. There was no clothes dryer as advertised but it didn’t stop us enjoying our stay.
- James (9/5): Superb -
- Calder (9/5): Perfect - Beautiful comfie cottage. Loved the two decks, sun or shade, depending on the mood. Lovely garden. Spacious bedrooms. Easy walk to town. Great having breakfast provisions.
- Shanae (10/5): Exceptional - The place just feels like home from the moment you walk through the door There is not one thing about this place that we do not like it's perfect in every way
- Mary (9/5): Superb -
- Sherri (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julia (5/5): average - the location and the breakfast and wine it has a musty smell especially in the twin room. the back door doesn’t lock properly and the towels were very old and the queen bed was really uncomfortable.
- Phil (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wendy (9/5): lovely - very pleasant and comfy cottage, cottage was VERY hot when we arrived AC hadn't been turned on - took a while to cool down
- Anna (8/5): Very good - Great little place in a fabulous location. The gardens are lovely. It was ridiculously hot when we stayed (abnormally so for the area and the time of year apparently) and the aircon doesn’t quite make it into the bedrooms. There are ceiling fans but it was still very hot in the bedrooms. Only ever going to be an issue in ridiculously hot weather!
- Alison (8/5): Had a wonderful time. - it was clean, neat and comfortable situated in a quiet street close to town. Even though the cottage is comfortable it is looking a bit tired and just needs a few things done to keep a standard. the back door doesn’t lock, need for a shelf in the shower and it isn’t compliant with the smoke alarms.
- Sheryl (6/5): Pleasant - Large airy windows overlooking a lovely garden. Advertised a high chair and dryer but did not provide either.
Also no hot water on the last night / morning. Had to have a cold shower.
- Douglas (8/5): Cute cottage in a quiet neighbourhood with a nice layout and pretty garden but it badly needs updating. - Nice layout with pretty garden. Quiet neighbourhood. Very well-worn. Badly needs updating
- Murray (9/5): Overall an excellent stay. - Almost everything was perfect. Sadly the beds were needing attention.
- William (9/5): myself, two daughters and one grandson thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would certainly return. - It was lovely to not have to worry about getting supplies for breakfast thus being able to settle in, go out for dinner, and get supplies the next day. I found the mattress in the main bedroom to be alright but not really comfortable and I know the lounge area is small but a comfortable lounge would be good.
- Steve (8/5): Very good -
- Helen (7/5): Good -
- Rhiley (10/5): Exceptional -
- Margie (8/5): Everything was nice, great spot to stay - Great location, nice layout Probably go for 2 bathrooms next stay
- Anat (9/5): lovely country side stay - beautiful little country side cottage, close to the shops and in a very quiet street.
thank you for the breakfast hamper and bottle of wine.
I would highly recommend travellers to stay at this lovely place. one little thing i didn't like.... there is no lid on the rubbish bin which is located somewhere between the lounge room and dining room. i personally wouldn't leave a bin without lid as its attract unwanted bugs.
- Linda (9/5): A Market Stay - The cottage was comfortable, relaxing and well equipped. As we were up for the markets, you couldn't ask for a closer accommodation! The main bedroom curtains need a little update.
Perhaps the back patio could have see through roofing over the table area so you can still eat there when it rains?
- Michael (10/5): Beautiful place to stay in great location to access everything in town. - Overall was a great place to stay in a great location. Would be better with black out curtains in living room window and second bedroom window. Blind chain in kitchen not secured to wall (strangulation hazard for small children). But these issues are only very nit picky problems.
- Martha (8/5): Very good - Great location, very cosy, lovely lush green plants around the property & birds everywhere, very generous breakfast provisions & bathroom supplies. Good size for a family of 3 for a short stay. Love the older Queenslander style with the beautiful windows. Space was very hot when we arrived & took several hours to cool down. The aircon finds it hard to reach the bedrooms & the fans aren't very effective in the afternoon heat unfortunately. Floor timber around toilet & shower base needs attention, & the bathroom sink could do with some fresh timber too. These are small quibbles & overall the cottage is charming & great value!
- Karrie (8/5): Very good -
- Natasha (9/5): cosy comfortable great location - close to main town and the platypus viewing areas
breakfast supplies and games cupboard needed a block out blind in one of the bedrooms
- Celia (9/5): Very pleasant, good quiet area ,gorgeous little cottage - Nice breakfast very good location lovely garden quiet loved the ceiling fans Bed in main brm was not very comfortable, second brm really needs blockout curtains on window, bathroom needs a power point and exhaust fan as lot of condensation on the ceiling
- Jessica (8/5): Very good - Cosy Could have a dryer
- Amalee (10/5): Was a great location with a beautiful country vibe and gardens - The location and cosyness of the cottage
