• Karlene (8/5): We had a wonderful weeks holiday, in a wonderful town, in a wonderful house in a wonderful location. - The location was perfect, close to the centre of town and the beach. Fantastic view. The house was warm and welcoming when we arrived. It had everything we needed. It was not bare and clinical. The bed was very comfortable and the bed linen lovely. It was a great house to spend a week in.

Great for peaceful walks and privacy. 2nd time staying and will stsy again soon. That we couldn't stay longer. Plus, don't drink port fairy water.

• Verran (8/5): A Gem on the River - Great position. Comfortable beds. Great hot water. Good parking, we had two vehicles. Facilities good, good quality and everything that you need. Slightly outdated. Some cobwebs and very hot and stuffy when we arrived. Time to move the Xmas ornament on the nest of tables.

• Karen (9/5): Superb - Location was great and the balcony was lovely to sit and relax. Amenities were good with supply of tea and coffee. Plenty of glasses, plates and cooking equipment should you choose to cook, which we didn't. Great restaurants close by. The main areas were nice and clean clean but in general, it could have benefited from a spring clean such as, venetian blinds, curtains etc were a bit dusty.

Cooktop and some equipt around cooktop quite greasy. Dirty sponge in kitchen cupboard. Windows and screens very dirty No bin liners Hate fluffy mats around toilets Bathroom laundry walls needed good clean and dryer filter hadn’t been cleaned out for quite some time. Took a huge amount of fluff out.

Easy to find the keys and walk into town and lighthouse. Hosts were accommodating with having lights on for our late arrival. Heater worked well. The unit could do with an update cosmetically. Looks a little tired and dated. Leaking tap in bathroom. Outdoor bins could do with a wash. Had everything we needed though.

Prompt replies to communications. Everything needed provided in accommodation. Have stayed at this property several times. Felt it had deteriorated since last stay. Desperately needs work, painting, blinds need replacing, etc. Bath a little rusty. As 2 night stay, extra towels would have been good.

• Hilary (8/5): Fabulous location and great hosts. - The location was amazing, right on the waterfront as described, and surprisingly quiet at night. Nice and roomy inside, aircon which we needed and lots of information about the area, what to see and do etc. Communicated with the hosts prior to arriving and they had some great advice about places to eat and other general information, very friendly and welcoming. Disappointed with the bathroom upstairs, the shower is over the bath, needs an update. Doors and windows upstairs need fly screens so they can be opened without worrying about flys etc. coming in, it does get hot up there with the skylight, good we had the aircon.

• Peter (9/5): This place is definitely worthy of another stay when next we travel along the Great Ocean Road. - A very clean and well presented property situated on the canal wharf and walking distance to restaurants. The centre of town with historic buildings was just two minutes by car or easily walkable. We enjoyed the walk to the lighthouse.

Our hosts were v helpful suggesting we book restaurants in advance and providing info. They also recommended the excellent seafood provider at the Marina. There were more mosquitoes this year!

It was so peaceful and beautiful at night and walking distance to everything during the day! The bedrooms were comfortable and a good size. Very impressed overall and we're already planning to come back! Everything was great!
