La casa es preciosa, super limpia y camas muy cómodas. Está situada en el corazón de Tortuguero y hemos visto todo tipo de animales desde la terraza y sus hamacas. Y lo mejor de todo es el trato que recibimos, Rodrigo y su mujer son encantadores, y Kendal un guía de otro nivel, sabe absolutamente de todo. Si quieren vivir una experiencia única e inolvidable, no duden en quedarse en casa Chilamates, 100% recomendable. De nuevo, mil gracias por todo, no olvidaremos esta experiencia tan bonita.

Casa Chilamates ne manque pas de ravir le tout : à 20 M de la jungle, des colibris, des singes jouant dans les arbres, des couleurs flamboyantes, du relax,....... Et enfin, un accueil chaleureux, des gens souriants, et des guides pour vos activités très agréables. N'hésitez surtout pas !! 👍👍👍

Le seul regret c’est qu’il n’y a pas de climatisation dans la deuxième chambre
• Simon (10/5): Merveilleux séjour dans un endroit unique au monde, nous recommandons chaudement cet endroit pour sa tranquillité et la - Bien entretenue, excellent emplacement juste à côté du parc, la tranquillité des lieux et le jardin avec ses hamacs pour se reposer. Une seule chambre climatisée, mais le ventilateur dans la deuxième chambre permettait de bien dormir.

• Hein (9/5): Super verblijf in de jungle - Prachtig huisje aan de rand van de jungle Simpele keuken met goede koelkast. Prima bedden. 1 slaapkamer met airco. Heerlijke tuin met hangmatten en betegeld terras. De eigenaar met zn vrouw woont er vlak acbter en helpen je bij alles. Dus heerlijk rustig maar toch vlak bij t stadje.
• Thomas (9/5): Heerlijk verblijf voor een paar dagen in de jungle - Heel schoon en vriendelijke ontvangst. Behulpzaam personeel, direct contact, hulp bij excursies en comfortabele bedden. Precies op de rand van het dorp en de jungle. Geen klachten maar hou rekening met tropische omstandigheden. Veel regen of hoge temperaturen kunnen ervoor zorgen dat de planning aangepast moet worden.

Our hosts were so friendly and kind and our guide was so helpful and fun. We will definitely stay again.

• Carolyn (9/5): Perfect stay with great guides and tours available. - Superb location - secluded & we were able to spot a spider monkey & an iguana right outside. Rodrigo and all of his staff were exceptional. The roof is a bit open and a bar flew into the room but all part of staying in the forest.
• Janine (10/5): Highly recommended! - Already the arrival was very pleasant: We were welcomed by Gabriel who picked us up from the boat and walked us to our house. The house was great! Lovely decorations, super clean, good wifi, kitchen equipped with everything you need, quiet and with green all around and right at the boarder of the National Park. Gabriel and his colleague Rodrigo gave us a little walking tour around the village with recommendations for restaurants and info/history about the town with a visit to the Turtle Museum. They were such great guys that we decided to do a Canoe tour with them the next morning and also that we enjoyed very much. Tortuguero is amazing and peaceful with its infinite beach, the canals & the park with its amazing wildlife - definitely one of our highlights of our Costa Rica trip.
• Frank (10/5): Comfortable house amongst nature and great hosts - Casa Chilamates is a lovely house set amongst the nature of Tortuguero where you can enjoy the beauty of the natural surroundings full of wildlife. Rodrigo and his wife are perfect, friendly hosts. They live in the neighbouring property and are easy to communicate with at all times. Set on the edge of the village right next to the national park. We saw several monkeys and wildlife from the terrace. We booked excellent trips with Rodrigo who runs the Trips Navitos guided tours. Local guide Gabriel met us at the house for each trip and was an enthusiastic guide throughout our stay. Tortuguera was our favourite stay in Cost Rica and Rodrigo made our trip so memorable. There are plenty of bars and restaurants in town so didn't need to use the kitchen facilities. A place to make great memories. Nothing

• Richard (8/5): Sweet looking, well equipped and spacious property, slightly let down by the massive gaps around the windows - Spacious, well equipped kitchen, clean. Provided umbrellas. Excellent communication for co-ordinating arrival boat journey. A/C in one bedroom We visited in the rainy season. All the window frames were designed with a 2cm gap around them - seems barmy in such a humid climate adjacent to a rainforest with standing water all around. This led to it being 1. Difficult to exclude mosquitoes (although they did provide effective mosquito nets), and 2. it meant that the one bedroom with A/C ended up with a wet floor and walls as it was difficult for the unit to dehumidify as it was effectively open to the humid environment outside. Could do with A/C in both bedrooms.

• David (7/5): Jungle house on the edge of town - Location was good in the edge of the national park, where we could see the wildlife. It was clean and kitchen facilities were good. They cleaned whilst we were there and the owner was very responsive when we needed help. We were met at La Pavona boat service and guided to the house in Tortuguero which was helpful. Being sold excursions at every point from booking to arrival at the house. Would have been much better to have been properly shown around the house and where the mosquito nets were stored. Mosquitos were bad whilst we were there so we couldn’t really enjoy the outside space or open the windows. There were also gaps around the windows and walls so they could easily enter the house. We only found the nets by chance on the last day, so got quite badly bitten.

• Susan (10/5): Exceptional - This a beautifully appointed, cozy cottage, well landscaped and located on the border of the national forest and away from the hustle and bustle of the center of Tortuguero. Rodrigo and Ariana are wonderful hosts, very responsive. They hooked us up with a great guide, Alfonso, for an early morning canoe trip into the national park, as well as a hike up the hill in nearby San Francisco the next afternoon. Not a complaint, just be aware that it is a small cottage with a shared bathroom. As 2 couples we did fine but we are used to traveling and staying together.

• Christa (10/5): Beautiful, artsy, authentic - Book It! - Spacious, lovely house in a quiet location surrounded by nature. Furnishings are perfect style for the space. Every corner of the home had personal, artsy touches. The air conditioner in the bedroom gave welcome relief from the heat while sleeping, and could even cool the rest of the home a bit. The front and back patios were beautiful, surrounded by well-manicured gardens. The owners were super responsive, available to answer questions or make any arrangements we needed. The guide tied to the property was phenomenal, and even made me a tea from indigenous herbs to treat my cough! (Hint to the owners: You should have him give natural remedy tours!) No complaints! We loved this place and would come again! FYI, it's a 10 min walk to the dock/center of town, but we appreciated that bc it was super quiet, with monkeys in the trees!
• Julien (10/5): Amazing stay in Tortuguero - The property is very clean, the beds very comfortable, the Wi-Fi works excellently. The interior decoration is very good style (if I am not mistaken, many decorations are produced by Rodrigo and his wife). The house, is located slightly outside the center of the village at the edge of the jungle: at night, the sounds of nature are fantastic! Special mention goes to Rodrigo, his wife and Arturo, our hiking guide. Great people, extremely kind and helpful. Such friendliness is a rare commodity these days! I highly recommend the proposed tours, Arturo is extremely knowledgeable and will make you experience unique moments! Nothing, everything was perfect!
• Ben1992 (10/5): Great property on the edge of the national park - The location was great, right on the edge of the rainforest and the beach, national park and restaurants easy to reach. The property has many large windows which can be opened up to make it feel like you are right in the middle of the jungle. Staff were very friendly and check in was easy. Nothing.

Just a short walk (5 min) to town centre and docks. Bedroom has aircon and you can hang your musquito net. Spacious kitchen with stove, oven and large fridge. Host Rodrigo is always available through whatsapp and helped arrange tours (Canoe tour with guide Abel was great) and transport. nothing

The garden views and wildlife watching were great. The room was clean and comfortable. The water was warm, not hot, but it was not a big deal, just something to note.
