Guest Reviews
- Marilyn (10/5): Will look at returning again in my caravan. - We cooked a fantastic english breakfast. Although the kitchen in the hut had only a 2 plate gas hot plates for cooking we survived. Plenty of plates, cups, cutlery. Lighting lastered for the evening on the batttery. For 2 people was okay. Any more woud be very cosy. There was nothing we both didn't like.
- Kevin (5/5): Passable -
- Marianne (9/5): Rustic, off grid gem - A charming, cosy cottage made for a perfect rustic getaway. New loo and shower amenities were excellent. Take your own drinking water. There's a little gas stove but no electricity: if you're there during summer take a self powered fan/power pack for your devices/fridge. We got ice from the post office at Pt Germein. Lots of wildlife including a stunning lace monitor, kangas, emus sauntering through camp, and birds singing their hearts out. A good bug lotion with deet for a few flies by day and the odd moz at night. Other critters left us alone but were fascinating to watch (a fabulous redback wrapping her prey in one of the loos was better than TV). No phone signal so just sit on front verandah with a cold beer and watch the menagerie. Comfy bed. A few campers around but not hectic and other sites are not wall to wall. Amazing sound and light show thanks to a hot summer storm. Excellent short and longer hikes/walks. Will definitely be back. Nothing not to like: it was quite a hot sleep one night so I'd recco finding a self-powered fan.
- Kim (8/5): The perfect bolt-hole - Location and isolation. Great walks. No armchairs to relax on
- Emma (8/5): Very enjoyable! - We love this cabin for its location and convenience for a weekend away. We keep coming back and will continue to keep coming. It’s like glamping! The cabin needs a good thorough clean. Flyscreens need replacing and the pots and pans need an industrial clean or replacement. With these things done it would be perfect!
- Nicky (8/5): Mambray Creek is heaven. - NPWS service very helpful when I rang for keycode Serious issue with lock on sliding door. It jams! We almost gave up and went back to Pirie!
And .... is there a limit on campers with noisy generators? Only one. But ...
- Edward (9/5): great experience of a national park - Lovely short walk to creek and amazing ancient red gums The cottage was NOT in Wilmington, This is false advertising. The cottage is on the western side of Mt Remarkable and closer to Port Germein than to Wilmington. The initial advertising could have been clearer concerning the lack of an ensuite bathroom, and the absence of mains power.
