Guest Reviews
- Petrina (10/5): Very homely cozy and comfortable. - Cozy comfortable nostalgic Nothing
- Brenda-Lee (10/5): We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Amiens Cottage. - The fireplace was a real treat and the historical story about the cottage was very interesting. No Wi-Fi but not a big deal to be fair.
- Nadia (9/5): Beautiful cottage. The colours around Stanthorpe in Autumn is so vivid and beautiful. - Easy access to the key box. No problems at all. The key's were already waiting for us to collect.
- Anna (10/5): - Absolutely lovely cottage with beautiful vintage details, comfortable beds and well equipped kitchen. 5 min walk from shops and Saturday farmers market. We didn't want to leave.
- Rachael (9/5): Charming cottage in convenient location with everything we needed. Thank you. - Clean, and comfy historic cottage in convenient location. Nice bottle of wine on arrival and pastries with jam and fresh butter for breaky. Three double bedrooms. Everything we needed. Some milk would have been nice for morning coffee. Bed in smaller room a little firm with flat pillows. But overall it was all clean and comfortable.
- Kirsten (10/5): -
- Garth (9/5): -
- Maree (8/5): - Style of Cottage. Was quite difficult to find initially. No address provided. Googled Amiens Cottage and was directed to another Cottage on Amiens Rd a long way from Stanthorpe proper.
- Pamela (9/5): A Beautiful, Restful Retreat. - Size, quietness, comfort, and quaintness. The property had everything you could want - games, books, DVDs - even sun hats!
Close to the main drag, supermarkets, cafes and restaurants. One bathroom.

- Sonya (10/5): It was just perfect for us . - What a lovely stay we had . Lovely vintage furniture , plenty of blankets , heaters and fire to stay warm . Milk butter bread and jam provided . Wine also . Close enough to town to be convenient.. but not too close . Washpool soaps in the bathroom .. we had a lovely relaxing stay and a late checkout also which meant we could sleep in on final day and not rush home . Magic

- Bruce and Anne (10/5): We enjoyed relaxing in front of the fire place, lovely comfortable home - It was lovely very homely and had everything you could need and more.
- Corey (8/5): We loved our stay at Amiens. Loved the story behind the 100-year-old house too! - Very cosy cottage. We were very warm at night ☺️
- Alicia (9/5): Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, it had everything we needed. Definitely recommend - The explanation of the cottages history, the beds were very comfortable, a great selection of tea, coffee and jams for the bread rolls provided, well stocked kitchen.
- Diana (10/5): Beautiful cosy cottage perfect for a getaway especially winter with the lovely fireplace! - We had a girls long weekend and the cottage was roomy and accommodated 4 ladies easily. It was close to town and Aldi was a short walk away. It had a lovely fireplace which was well stocked with kindling and firewood. The kitchen was well equipped with an airfryer slow cooker and lots of assorted cookware!
- Vicki (10/5): Exceptional - Everything about the property was amazing right through to our host having bread, butter and milk in the fridge for us and tea and coffee. The property was so quiet and stocked with fire wood so we could have the fire going the whole time off our stay. We will definitely go back.
- Leanne (10/5): Winter escape - Beautiful cottage with everything you need. Nothing hasn’t been thought of, all the comforts. Beautiful bread awaiting us and wood for the fire. A lovely story behind the house give its more soul and warmth. It’s perfect
- Kylie (10/5): Exceptional - It had everything we needed and was very comfortable.
- Irina (9/5): Great location, quiet street, cozy chimney - Very cozy and nice. Chimney and lovely deck. Great location 1 bathroom and toilet combined for 3 bedrooms
- Shivani (10/5): A warm cosy cottage that brought us so much joy! - It was a perfect getaway from our busy city lives. The cottage is very well located. It is a cosy space to make memories with your loved ones. The hosts are thoughtful and generous. We very much appreciated the local goodies that waited for us on arrival - some ciabatta buns, butter, jams and marmalade, coffee, milk, a generous bottle of wine, sweet smelling soaps, books, boardgames. We had a splendid time and left with beautiful memories. We will surely visit again. Thank you to Gayle our lovely host, We loved everything!
- Janet (5/5): Passable -
- Roula (10/5): Exceptional - The cottage was beautifully presented, the check in/out process was easy and there was lots of lovely touches that made our stay wonderful. Nothing
- Emma (9/5): A lovely spot to relax for a few days - Loved the location, the back deck, the wonderfully supplied kitchen, the cosy feel
- Wendy (9/5): Superb - Beautiful little cottage that had all the mod cons
- Karissa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carol (10/5): we loved our stay - we thought there so much thought on their behalf to make us all have a lovely time nothing ,it was great
- Bfg (6/5): Pleasant -
- Tammy (10/5): Conveniently situated, clean, relaxing and filled with old world charm. - The cottage is in a great spot, away from Main Street and noise, but walking distance to supermarkets and the main Street for entertainment and shopping. There are 3 double bedrooms, 2 living/lounge areas (one in the heart of the cottage with a fireplace), 6 seat dining area, a little meals area at the rear with a beautiful patio with bbq at the back overlooking the garden. Kitchen is big and well stocked with a vast array of everyday cooking utensils, crockery and basic pantry items. There is a front loader washing machine and dryer and a single bathroom that has the toilet and shower which has the mini tub base for bathing little ones. It was a lovely, relaxing, quiet home authentically decorated yet modernised without losing any charm. The host was extremely friendly and helpful and added unexpected touches like prepared firewood, board games, books, fresh milk and bread with condiments, coffee pods for machine and coffee beans for coffee press. The tea lover is also catered for with a box of assorted teas, tea pots and tea cups with saucers. I would definitely recommend this cottage stay and will be coming back again. Only one bathroom which includes the toilet. This could become very inconvenient for a larger family or group of adults. The televisions are not smart tvs that have the apps for streaming your Netflix, Disney or Sports. Some may enjoy the disconnection but some may not. A set top box could fix this.
- Keith (10/5): Excellent provisioned accomodation in great location - Very well furnished cottage, 10 minutes walk from Stanthorpe Town Centre. Beautiful warm wood fire for the winter months. Nothing
- Peter (9/5): Quaint cottage with country charm in an excellent location - Location, quaintness and facilities Only one bathroom
- Rachelle (9/5): Superb -
- Tanya (10/5): Exceptional -
- Melissa (9/5): Superb -
- Thomas (10/5): Lovely characterful cottage with multiple sitting areas, and a well-equipped kitchen. -
- Calvisi (10/5): comfortable and convenient -
- S (4/5): Magnificent attention to details, but inadequate security. - Loved the on arrival welcome of bread milk butter jams coffee.
The bedding was magnificent, lovely and very very luxurious.
So much thought into guest needs.
Attention to detail very high, supply of lovely local supplies of soaps, beautiful soft towels.
The hosts were lovely and very approachable It is advertised as having a bath , this is misleading it is a shower cubicle with an enclosed ? Child bath.
There is inadequate security. There are no dead bolts on the external doors. The latch on the front screen door is not secure. There is no way to secure or lock your bedroom door at night. I could not leave the windows open as there was no security grilles, these windows have large panes, are easily accessible from outside and lack adequate secure fixings.
I did not feel safe.
The air con is one unit only, the style of the cottage does not allow effective cooling as there is no way to enclose the rooms.
I would suggest light activated sensors for the windows and doors.
- Neryl (10/5): Amiens Cottage is beautifully presented and can recommend. - The location was excellent, in central Stanthorpe. Lovely and clean and everything you need to enjoy a break away with all the necessary facilities. Host was there to be contacted if you needed them but absolutely non-intrusive. Can’t say that there was anything negative to mention.
- Venkat (10/5): It was a wonderful stay. Quite and yet close to town. Kids loved it too. - was located close to everything
- Natalie (10/5): Beautiful house in terrific location. - We stayed here for a weekend with our 14 year old son. The house was a lovely old Queenslander with a rich history. The beds were comfortable, house was a great size, lovely quiet neighbourhood and was an easy walk down to the main Street. Our little welcome pack was much appreciated as well. We had to change weekends because of the bushfires out that way and Gayle was more than happy to help us out. We would definitely love to stay here again. Thank you Gayle for letting us stay in your beautiful house.
- Lisa (10/5): Cosy and comfortable. Perfect base to explore Stanthrope and surrounds - The property was cosy and comfortable and had everything we needed, plus more. Our kids loves the games and dvds! Location was fantastic and owners were so responsive to our queries and requests and so lovely and understanding when there was an accidental breakage. We will definitely stay again ☺️ Nothing

- Vicki (9/5): Charming, cozy, comfortable. - Beds were super comfortable and the addition of electric blankets for winter was a wonderful luxury! So nice to arrive to tea, coffee, bread, butter, milk and jam provided for you. Great to relax by the wood fire on a cold night - thanks for having wood and kindling ready. Wifi would be an added bonus but not a necessity.

Owner left little extras such as soap, jams, croissants, wine. This is a very clean cottage with a wonderful host and we would definitely stay again.
- Dale (8/5): Very good -
- Carmel (10/5): Comfy and stylish cottage. - Location is very convenient. The cottage is stylish and comfortable. Gayle makes her guests welcome with excellent tea, coffee, wine and breakfast surprises. The shower is really lovely! Leaving.
- Bronny (8/5): we loved our stay, everything you need, lovely bread wine, comforts of home.. - quiet prob need aircon in the main bedroom room……it had pedestal fans but quite noisy. maybe one on the ceiling would be a bit better. I just hate the heat..
- Sven (9/5): Great location for the Granite Belt. - Very proactive, communicating and welcoming host. Great and quiet location to visit the Granite Belt. Beautiful historic cottage.
- Bernadette (10/5): We were very comfortable and loved the cottage. - There was a lovely loaf of fresh bread jam and coffee and tea and plenty of milk and butter supplied The fans worked quite well but air- conditioning would have been appreciated as it was quite a warm and humid weekend.
- Ian (6/5): Pleasant - Beautiful property, wonderful host and great location. We had a lovely stay. No air conditioning, no ceiling fans and no fly screens.
- Alex (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elaine (10/5): Exceptional -

Kind, communicative host Being a QLDer cottage, you do hear every noise in the house. It’s fine if you are a good sleeper, though.
- Christine (10/5): we had a great stay. the cottage was very relaxing and the owner left extra like butter and milk in the fridge. a bottle - the property was well appointed, close to the main shopping area, and offered space. we loved the cottage
- Ligasy (10/5): Wonderful - comfortable and well run; a great base for exploring the local area - I wish every stay was as comfortable and well run as this one. The host is very proactive, offering early check-in and letting us know when the place was ready. It was very welcoming with the milk, butter, croissants, marmalade, coffee etc. The house is comfortable and very well setup for cooking. The supplied firewood, firestarters , matches and the fireplace made it easy to warm the house up in the evenings.
We used the house as a base for walking in Girraween, which worked really well. The supermarkets are close by, and the street is super quiet.
