Guest Reviews
- Sally (9/5): We had a lovely stay. Particularly loved the open fire. Beds really comfortable. Very clean. - Location was excellent. Love being able to walk everywhere. The property had 2 bathrooms which we needed for our group. Just a little surprised one of them was outside. Not really a problem but I think that should have been made clear on the website.
- Paula (10/5): Great place, lovely host -
- Lauren (10/5): Perfect winter escape! - Plenty of room for adult children, loved the open fire, fantastic new couch is so comfortable. Nothing
- Liz (10/5): -
- Shaw (8/5): We had a great time. - Double glazed windows as it is on a very busy road.
- Bernadette (1/5): Double booked - Unfortunately as the property had also been booked through Airbnb we were unable to stay. The host helped find alternative accommodation but this was not in the area we wanted and wasted a lot of time. I don’t feel we were compensated appropriately for this inconvenience especially as we also booked through ShopBack and lost that reward.
- Katie (10/5): - Fantastic location and very spacious. We enjoyed sunning ourselves outside and keeping cosy inside during the evening
- Meggy Gumban (10/5): - It's a nice cosy cottage with hardwood floors and a family room where you can watch movies and play games with the family. There are four bedrooms with centralized heating and individual electric fans. Family room has a fireplace. Kitchen is complete with everything that allows you to cook meals with the family: Oven, Microwave, Coffee Machine, Stove Top and various pots and pans. Indoor bathroom has heater. Conveniently located and only 5-10 minutes drive to popular attractions.
- Yvonne (9/5): - Thank you for making our visit easy. My aunty unfortunately passed suddenly who lived in Healesville for most of her 72 years. Nothing to complain about. You have a lovely home.

- Karolina (10/5): - Lovely and cosy
- christine (8/5): -
- Maree (9/5): - Great location 😄 the house was well furnished and had everything we needed for the stay A coffee table and a side table in the lounge would be a great addition
- Mingxiao (9/5): a little disappointed as having two indoor bathroom was our primary requirement and expectation - The location is in the centre of the town, and the sofa is pretty cosy. We love the lounge and dining area The property was listed as having two bathrooms, and we expected both to be located indoors. However, one of the bathrooms is situated outside the house, and its door is deformed and very difficult to open/close. Parking is also a bit of a challenge as the driveway is narrow
- Lisa (7/5): Nice place just needs a few things looked at, on its way to being a good residence. - The beds were comfortable and nice bed linen, very comfortable lounge and wonderful heating throughout the house. Nice BBQ and little outdoor dining area and a secure car port with roller door. Lovely bath towels. Poor cleanliness of dining table and kitchen, no papertowel, baking tray, kitchen storage containers, cling wrap, chopping board for meat (only wooden board) & saucepan lid for steamer. Second Shower outside in laundery. House is on a main road and bend into town but disguised by using laneway address of Gloria Close not 100 Maroondah Highway Healesville. Beds in two bedrooms have a bad slope towards the head, main bathroom needs updating.
- Kurtis (8/5): -
- Renee (9/5): Lovely cosy place to stay - Comfortably furnished. Cosy and warm on arrival
- Dilip (10/5): Will be back.Thank you - Centrally located. Warm and comfortable. Nil
- Paul (9/5): Very comfortable and great value cottage - Host was great and very responsive and made it easy to check-in, etc Is on main road and is noisy early in mornings
- Verheul (7/5): Our family stay was enjoyable, a pleasant stay we’d all come again - Cosy place, nice and warm, the property was very clean and fresh towels available Wifi always slow or dropping out
One toilet seat wobbly
One bathroom access from outside of main house and door didn’t open or close properly.
Noisy heating system
- Rhys (10/5): Exceptional -
- Boath (10/5): Exceptional - Great spot, close to the main street. Comfy beds and nicely renovated with great facilities, BBQ etc
- Keely (10/5): Our stay was so wonderful, I would recommended this accommodation 100 times over - Everything about the property was wonderful! I could not fault it
- Hayley (9/5): Superb -
- Christine (9/5): Magnolia Cottage was perfect with all the essentials and comforts for a weekend away - Location
Size of bedrooms and a 4 bedroom house
Good layout
- Damian (8/5): Overall a nice old cottage - Beds were very comfortable, place was clean great location. Old doors with some that don’t close properly. Uneven fake grass area at rear, elderly father nearly fell over. Windows didn’t open.
- T (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stephen (8/5): Cute, well-equipped, comfortable (apart from traffic noise), close to town - Cute, historic cottage (reminded me of staying at my Nana's), comfortable, well-equipped, close to town, friendly host Traffic noise
- Brooke (9/5): Superb -
- Erick (7/5): Good -
- Lauren (10/5): Great place to stay, great amenities and fantastic hosts. - We stay at Magnolia cottage every year. Returning this year it just felt like home. So relaxed with all the amenities that you would expect from home. The couch is very uncomfortable. Only the 2 middle seats are actually comfortable. I think it has worn out.
- Darryl (7/5): Good - Location is very good to be able to walk into town. Cottage is on the main road and can be busy at peak times. Doors did not open and close easily especially into back bathroom area.
- Alyce (7/5): Like staying at your aunty’s cottage, warm and welcoming. - The beds were incredibly comfortable. It had a proper coffee machine with beans. Washer and dryer for use. Great location. On a very busy and noisy road. Not a lot of outdoor space and the house can be quite dark at times.
- Maree (9/5): The cottage had everything you might need. - The cute cottage had a warm feel about it. Its location was ideal . Easy access to the street and comfortable for 8 adults each with a separate room. We loved it.
- Alana (9/5): Superb - The layout, comfortable beds, cleanliness of the place. The second toilet and bathroom was outside.
The outside toilet was not working on arrival however the manager tried to fix it but to no avail. . It needed a plumber yet a plumber was not called to my knowledge.
- Victoria (7/5): Nice house & location, loud road noise, dirty floors... - Great location in Healesville, easy walk to town and amenities. Lovely welcome pack from host. Pity about the road noise though (audible throughout the property, especially at night) and the cleanliness of the property. The floors were filthy, rugs definitely hadn't been vacuumed in a long time, and the couch had broken springs making it uncomfortable to sit on.
- Cheryl (8/5): Hosts very accommodating, property centrally located and the size of the house meant we were not on top of one another. - Proximity to Main Street & all it has to offer, very close to Four pillars distillery & we landed during happy hour which was a bonus 😊
Clean, well equipped kitchen - though we ate out most of the time.
4 good sized bedrooms, comfortable beds.
Secure, parking for two cars. Arrived at property mid / late afternoon road traffic very noisy & busy; can be difficult to turn right but we went left and found our way through back streets. However was not too noisy when we retired for the evening. Second bathroom at back of property might be challenging in the middle of winter but our weather was glorious all weekend - so no issues whatsoever & was important as we were going to a wedding so 2 bathrooms much needed.
- Stephanie (7/5): Beautiful house in a perfect location. Great for a large group or family. Highly recommend. - Great location and overall comfortable house. Comfortable beds. Needs a deep clean - shower a bit mouldy, lots of dust/lint in vents and behind bed/on floor.
Stated that it had all condiments but didn't have pepper or oil for cooking.
- Helen (7/5): Overall a pleasing stay. - Great size property with comfortable beds and nicely decorated.
Lots of facilities for cooking. We didn't like the road noise as it was on a main throughfare.
We didn't like that the second bathroom was accessed from outside but still attached to the main building. Not ideal in cold weather. This wasn't disclosed on the booking information.
- Maharaj (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fran (9/5): Superb -
- Mark (8/5): Very good -
- Lauren (10/5): Excellent hotel for families! - We stay here every year since our kids were small. It meets the needs of younger families as well as teens. Lots of seperate space and great communal areas also. We just could not get the wood to burn this time. Have not had this issue before.
- Melinda (8/5): Very good -
- Michael (9/5): Superb - It was a spacious cottage with great faculties. easy walking distance to many great attractions. Located on a noisy, busy Main Street.
- Claudia (9/5): Comfortable, Cosy, Clean & Quirky - Comfortable, plenty of room, clean & tidy with all necessary amenities. Well positioned within walking distance to town centre Bathroom locks need fixing
- Lyn (8/5): wonderful experience. beautiful town - Provisions and location Main road- uninformed about heavy traffic
- Anonymous (9/5): We had a lovely stay and it felt like home - Nice and cozy in a great location. Short walk to the main street and
- Joanna (10/5): Home away from Home. - old and charming. spacious rooms. extremely well equipped with everything you could wish for….. and more.
- Elissa (9/5): Very convenient stay for a weekend where we were out and about. - Great, central location, quirky old cottage, very clean and well supplied with amenities. Complimentary bottle of wine a nice welcome. Parking only for one car, but there is on street parking around the corner.
- Heather (6/5): Pleasant - No breakfast provided Entering the shower of the second bathroom was very squeeze. The door opened the wrong way. I
- Helen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paul (10/5): We had 7 adults staying at the property, everyone was comfortable, there was nothing more we needed. - The location was superb, we were minutes walk into the main street in Healesville. There was also a Coles Express basically across the road for any incidental items we required which was very conveniently open early morning until late.
The property had everything you would expect to find in an established home: both bathrooms were fully stocked with shampoo/conditioner/body wash; there was ample laundry soap plus dishwashing tablets. There was a full kitchen with every utensil you could think of plus all coffees/teas etc.
We could not have been more comfortable and would definitely look to stay here again if we were heading to the Yarra Valley.
Our host Lucy made contact during our stay to ensure everything was ok, she was lovely and very accommodating.
- John (9/5): Superb -
- Rebecca (9/5): Superb -
- Amy (10/5): Lucy was fabulous to deal with and the property was great! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! we will be back. - This property was great! We liked how central it is and within walking distance to the main drag.
also very close to several fabulous wineries/breweries etc. Couldn’t fault this property. Heating was great, bed were comfortable, had everything we needed.
- Frank (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nola (10/5): Exceptional -
- Thomas (8/5): Very good -
