Guest Reviews
- Daniel (10/5): The stay was perfect. Easy to sneak in and just feel at home. - The view was amazing and the unit was clean and well set out with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. That I couldn't stay longer. We will definitely come back and stay again.
- Greg - Sydney (10/5): A beautiful place for a couple of days in Hobart - The location was fantastic - on the hill overlooking Sorell and the airport. Big rooms and very comfortable beds. Washing machine and drier were a bonus. The local wallabies said hello and birds were about whenever we arrived home.
A quiet place with a view, washing facilities and comfortable beds with a good shower in a big bathroom, what more could you want. Starlink WiFi supplied too!
Check in was easy and well communicated - I'll stay here again! All good

- Laura (1/5): Be careful will charge you for 8 year old recieving concussion - Exhaust fan in the shower fell out, so clearly something I'd need a ladder to get too? Im 5 foot 5 lol and my children are small but im being asked for cost of damages for a fan falling out? That's you not maintaining your property nothing to do with guest how ridiculous Exhaust fan in the shower fell out, so clearly something I'd need a ladder to get too? - Kasmon (7/5): Nice view, love the wallabies. - The view. The shower wasn’t clean, less then half a roll of toilet paper. No top sheet on beds. The driveway was not good in a sedan, need a 4wd.
- Sandy (8/5): Quiet rural block with magnificent views - a lovely intro to Hobart. - Beautiful outlook, close access to the airport, lovely to have furry visitors on the deck in the morning.
- susan (9/5): - Great value, well equipped, quiet and spacious.
- ehua425 (10/5): Overall good value for money - the view from the balcony was amazing. the rooms were spacious and clean and having all the amenities you would need. you can also see a lot of wallabies around the area in the morning which is a plus. not really anything
- Kim (9/5): -
- Kate (10/5): Clean, quiet, unbelievable views - Views were unbeatable! Location was quiet, felt like we were completely out in nature with a phenomenal view of the night sky. A little off the beaten track, but thankfully they sent a video showing exactly how to find the property.

- Mark (10/5): -
- YING-RU (9/5): - Great location
Every morning we sit on sofa have our breakfast and nice view
Kids love the wallaby and other wild life animal
We saw possum ,rabbit,wallaby
One lucky night we also have aurora after bbq house
- Clément (10/5): -
- Yasas (10/5): - Superb location with a fantastic view for good value..
- KANAMI (9/5): - The place had a fantastic view, and if it hadn’t been cloudy, we probably could have enjoyed a beautiful night sky full of stars. Wild wallabies came to greet us and even visited near our door until it got dark — they were probably hoping for some food. The room was very clean and spacious, and having access to a washing machine and dryer was extremely helpful. There wasn’t anything in particular that I disliked, but if I had to mention something, getting there was a little scary. I actually wanted to go out again, but I didn’t feel confident driving after dark, so I bought dinner while it was still light and went back to the room. I also got a little lost on the way. That said, the location was amazing, and the scenery more than made up for it.
- Jesse (10/5): - Everything Nothing
- Tracey (10/5): - Loved everything, the view was amazing
- Nicole (9/5): Wonderful place to stay with amazing views - Amazing view, loved the visiting wildlife, spacious house, comfortable modern decor, great communication from the owners. Would have loved a little table and chairs on the deck area. Would make it better if you provided a shower caddy for the shower and placed some lighting over the vanity. Just letting you know that the guttering on the deck area is rubbing on the fascia/roof sheeting when the wind blows and makes a squeaky sound.
- Alain (10/5): - Formidable séjour dans un endroit idyllique !!
Cadre sublime et vue superbe.
- Sheree (10/5): - The peaceful location and the uninterrupted views made for a relaxing stay. The unit was well presented and had everything we needed for our stay. Having a stash of snacks to purchase if required was a thoughtful touch especially as a shop isn't close by. No Air Conditioner, but there was a portable cooler.
- Stacey (10/5): Great place to stay! - Great view, friendly wallabies, rooms spacious and comfortable. Long driveway into the property is a bit daunting in the dark
- Melanie (9/5): Really comfy beds! Magnificent views! Short drive, 10-15 minutes to most things :) - Great location and comfy beds! Toilet wasn’t clean, skid marks in it. Also, the sheet on my bed had dark hairs on it plus a public hair.
- David (9/5): - Stunning views and lots of friendly wildlife surrounding the house.
- Joanne (10/5): Amazing eco property with stunning views and wildlife - The property was lovely. Amazing views. Very spacious, modern and clean. Cooking utensils provided.
I only stayed a night which didn’t give me the time to enjoy the property unfortunately but I would stay here again.
Being greeted by wallabies on our arrival was a big bonus Not that I didn’t like it but the gravel road in is not for the faint hearted 😳
- bye (10/5): - Our family loved it and waking up to a view was fantastic! Even with a Wallaby at the door aswell.
The advantage of having a kitchen available along with microwave and washing machine and dryer is a big advantage. We would love to come back! Signage of a night especially, was difficult to see beside that maybe the bigger rocks on the road surface id be more inclined to bring my 4x4 next time over my audi. While quite accessible by any car the rugged road is a minor let down.
Also the floor was quite cold we had to wear our shoes because just socks on wasn't enough.
We understand the time of year doesn't help and we didn't expect it not to be cold. We will definitely be back.
- Kate (9/5): Great little getaway - Everything at the property was modern, clean and tidy. Cabins were equipped with everything you need.
- Philip (6/5): Pleasant -
- Clifford (7/5): Once is enough. - The view was great with wildlife at the property. The road leading to the property was not great and could be dangerous at night when it’s all dark. For a newly renovated property, the furnishings are rather simple and the sofa had a bad smell of dog/ mould.
- Catherine (8/5): Very good -
- Laura (10/5): Loved Mt Rumney and our stay at Wombat House. Couldn't have asked for better accommodation. - Keys were in a lock box and easy to retrieve. Loved the view, the size of the rooms, the breakfast pack, feeding the wallabies, watching the swift parrots drinking from the gutters and the friendly young lady that helped us. Loved facilities for self-catering. It had all that we needed. Great place to stay.
- Nanthawan (9/5): Superb - The view, wallabies and the large comfy beds The road to the property was rough for about 1.5km
- P (7/5): Outstanding views plus a free wildlife encounter - settle in for a few days retreat! - The view was amazing as promised and the virtually tame wallabys were a delight. Sadly no wombats but you cant win them all! Good amenities and comfortable beds (though short on pillows on the double beds). Well set up for a longer stay with washing machine etc. Thought the ability to purchase extra items using QR codes was quite innovative and would be great to have this extended for those who may have arrived under-prepared (such as us, underestimating the access road) OMG - the access road 😱 Really needs some urgent work as it was mentioned it was gravel but this is currently borderline 4WD track. Crossed my mind that the rental company might not be too happy to have their car on it. I had some pretty freaked out parents once we reached the top! Also need to reiterate that you are at minimum 15 minutes from any shops so do be prepared with all food etc you need before going up.
- Olivia (9/5): Overnight stay only for closeness to the airport but delightful and will come back for a longer period of time. - The view, the spaciousness inside and everything you needed was provided. The gravel road getting there, but it was worth it in the end!!
- Stuart (8/5): Very good -
- Courtney (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elizabeth (10/5): Fantastic - The cabin was exceptional with all amenities available and the peace and quiet.but mostly enjoyed the wild life.
- Rafael (10/5): Amazing views - Amazing views, XL beds, laundry
- Gladstonekat (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful views. House was clean and comfortable. Cute wallabies were feeding just outside the house. We would definitely stay longer next time.
- Janey (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was wonderful. The views were incredible, it was immaculate, new, & extremely comfortable. We ate breakfast watching three wallabies infront of our house. We were visited in the carpark by goats, wallabies & even a little possum in the evening. We saw more wildlife in their natural environment than anywhere else in Tasmania.
- Juan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jane (10/5): A fabulous property in a stunningly beautiful location and very good value. - Amazing views ,clean spacious and cozy. Nothing
- Gopala (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent location
- Dina (10/5): Amazing view and spacious - Quick and easy The road was a bit challenged for a car.
- Rosmarie (9/5): Superb -
- Christine (10/5): Beautiful bungalow with a great view - Beautiful modern bungalow with wonderful views. Cosy furnishings.
Favourable location to the airport, especially if you need the first flight in the morning. We even received very good directions with a video.
Wallabies and other wild animals could be observed on the premises.
- Kyeyoung (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrew (10/5): 100% recommend this accommodation - The views, peace and tranquillity. The cute wallaby's. The pillows were too high for me, but that's only very minor.
- Hayden (10/5): Perfect getaway within easy driving distance of Hobart. - Amazing views as far as the eye can see! quiet and relaxing, with wallabies at your door! Beautifully presented accommodation with everything you need for a peaceful stay away from the hustle and bustle of the city, but its
only a short drive away.
- Monteeta (10/5): Exceptional - Feels like a very isolated location but still close enough to the city center. You can see some wildlife in the morning just outside your cabin.
- Michael (9/5): A comfortable, relaxing place to stay, especially for anyone with independent transport. - The house was extremely well-appointed and clean, with comfy lounge and beds, and great kitchen. The view out of the large, main window was great. The property off the road significantly but is easy to drive to and well-signposted from the main road. All good.
- John (10/5): Perfect - Wallabees at the door to greet us, fantastic Maybe better signage to get there, we entered into the wrong address
- Melissa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Denver (8/5): Very good -
- Joanne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lorette (10/5): Beautiful, peaceful and very convenient location, stunning views, exceptionally clean and cabin was very comfortable an - Beautiful, peaceful and very convenient location, stunning views, exceptionally clean and cabin was very comfortable and well priced. Kitchen well equipped and bed extremely comfortable, we had the best sleep ever. We’ll definitely be going back there. Also having a washing machine and dryer was great.
- Macauley (10/5): Fabulous! Would recommend! - Location and view was amazing. Super comfortable and warm, sunrise was epic. Honestly nothing, it was exactly as described and was a great stay.
- Emily (9/5): Great stay with family - clean, modern and great location to the airport! - Location was very convenient to airport! Fresh, clean and modern - spacious and well designed - great for families! Would have been better to have breakfast that was ordered in our room upon arrival.
- Teresa (9/5): Superb - The view was amazing except for the work still being done around the property and the rubbish left there. We were warm and cozy and enjoyed our experience. The rubbish around the development area
- Sarah (9/5): Loved it, but please fix the road (and get rid of the spray painted van) - The beautiful off grid cabin was fairly new that we stayed in. We had the most amazing view over Hobart, you could see the airport - which my son loved - but could barely hear the planes - which I loved lol. We had wallabies coming up to our door which we could feed
Beautiful spot, beautiful cabin. The driveway was a fairly long dirt track. When we arrived (it was dark) and entered the gate to the property, we were greeted with a spray painted van that freaked my son out, he wanted me to find somewhere else to stay. My elderly mother has back issues and the driveway flared these up on our second night.
- Anna (10/5): Lovely cozy place with amazing view - Love the view from this lovely place . We had many animals ( some goats, sheep ) and wallabies and even a possum that was curious about us . The heater worked really well for the winter weather and the beds were comfortable. Only wish there were more pillows .
We only stayed one night but next time would definitely stay longer because if we return to Tasmania Nothing
- Ellie (1/5): Do not recommend!! - We arrived at 9pm and asked for guidance to navigate the very long driveway but didn’t receive a response. We were disappointed to find that when we arrived (in the middle of winter) it was 3 degrees and the heating and hot water didn’t work - no response again. There were no blankets in the house for extra warmth so we didn’t sleep.
No response was received until we messaged 3 more times and then 1 hr before checkout the hosts replaced the gas bottle so we had access to the amenities in the house. Not a single apology was offered for the inconvenience nor any compensation. Terribly rude hosts who were dishonest about the extra amenities offered.
- Maureen (10/5): Feed the Joeys - Perfect for family of 6 - beautiful sea views and view of the city from the top of the mountain. Friendly Joeys that are comfortable getting up and close
- Melanie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Austin (10/5): Exceptional - Awesome family getaway stay
- Annette (10/5): Loved it! Can’t wait to go back! - Stunning views
Had the best sleep I have honestly had in years
- Christine (8/5): Very good - the very windy steep driveway to get to accommodation. Once we arrived we were not keen to go out again quickly.
- Gillian (9/5): Great place - wish we could have stayed longer. - Lovely location with lots of wildlife . Comfortable rooms and good general facilities Access road very rough . Ok for us as we had high clearance 4WD . A bit of warning about this would have been helpful .
- Atul (8/5): Very good - A comfortable accommodation offering amazing views in the midst of nature.
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional - Very comfortable and very thoughtfully supplied with everything. Absolutely great view and worth the trip up the mountain. All great, no complaints at all

- Eva (9/5): Superb -
- Kara (9/5): Great place. - The location and views It was a bit tricky to find
- Georgiana (10/5): Amazing. UNderstandable that the way up there was quite 4wdrivy and steep but worth it - The views, the facilities of the place. The good furnitures. There were some dishes not washed.
- Debbie (10/5): Exceptional - What a wonderful place everything absolutely spot on the views were exceptional definitely stay there again well worth it 👌
- Mik (9/5): Very nice place to stay and relax - Nice and clean Views
- Randall (8/5): Very good -
- Melissa (10/5): Beautiful view, cosy and comfortable- a great place to stay! - Great views! Apartment set out with all the essentials. We got there late and left early- but had no issues. Would have loved to have stayed longer! All 5 apartments are quite close together we chatted to our neighbour from the balcony, and could hear a party from an apartment a few doors up. But it didn’t go late so wasn’t a real issue. Proximity could be a bonus for groups travelling together or for those who might be nervous about staying ‘off grid’, as there are people around.
- Rebecca (10/5): Loved it and looking forward to staying again at the end of the week when we head back south - Amazing views!! The cabin was very roomy, clean and comfortable. The kids loved seeing the wildlife who weren’t phased by us being there. There was more than enough room for our family. The drive in is a bit bumpy and hairy but I’m looking forward to staying again because it was soooo worth it
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect location. Great for the family. They loved seeing the wild life. And what a view!!! Cosy and fresh all in one.
- Dylan (7/5): Good -

- Angelica (9/5): Superb -
- Stefanie (9/5): Superb - We liked the beautiful view, it was very clean, the beds were comfortable, we highly recommend to stay there No outdoor chairs and table, no bedsite tables or lamps
- Jesscia (9/5): Great views. Lots of space. Clean and well equipped. - Great views from the property. Lots of space. Well equipped kitchen. Netflix! Only one bathroom for the six of us. But we knew that when we booked.
- Xc_zheng (9/5): Superb - Nice house on the top of the Mountain, nice view, fresh air The road is a bit hard to drive
- Ruth (10/5): Exceptional -
- Zhongfan (9/5): Great experience and nice choice for the family holiday - Great view, away from the noisy places but not too far from the shops No
- Paula (10/5): Sisters stay together - The house was fantastic 😊
The views were amazing and value for money superb! Nothing
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cherry (9/5): Superb - Private place with fabulous views.
A very spacious house with comfortable furnishings.
3 large bedrooms which could be configured into 2 king singles. So great for families.
Washing machine and dryer in the bathroom..
Plenty of towels/ linen which were of good quality.
A gas BBQ was supplied after I requested it which made catering easy.
TV with satellite connection.
Reverse cycle air conditioning kept us cosy in the evenings. Houses seemed well insulated.
Very clean.
Basic tea/instant coffee supplies Rough drive to the houses, my vehicle is not 4WD.
So good to grocery shop before arrival. Only 10 minutes drive to shops but a rough road to negotiate.
No coffee shop " around the corner" if that's your need.
Thick doonas on all beds, but thankfully a separate blanket was available as an alternative. I find doonas too hot.
- Annette (7/5): The view is spectacular and very easy to get to airport the next day. Very rough Rd in. - Fantastic view
Had two friends with me and we all had own room with king beds
Great shower
Wallaby visitors No outdoor seating or table on outside balcony. A high table with barstools to look over railing at view would have been great.
Afternoon sun directly hits balcony area with no shade. Perhaps an umbrella?
No hook or shelf in shower to put stuff.
No bedside lights
No condiments or basics like alfoil or glad wrap
A bbq would be good
No fly screen on front sliding door
The road to get in is rough especially for a hire car
- Louis (9/5): Great views, comfortable stays outside city - The view , out of city, quiet, and peaceful Nothing
- Nigel (10/5): All in all a great place to stay. And off grid as well. - Remote location but what a view. Knives could do with sharpening in the kitchen. Cleaning could have been better after the last resident.
