Guest Reviews
- Deon (5/5): - It is a very quaint and lovely place to stay. Good location. Beautifully decorated. Overall we really loved the house. There are several small things just not right. There are several light globes blown throughout the house. Toilet paper is only provided for 1 day. Coffee and tea making facilities is very depleted/non existing.
- Emily (3/5): Room for improvement. - The beds were very comfy and had electric blankets. Nice house. Had to give $300 deposit separately after payment. You are expected to clean up after yourself including washing and putting away all the dishes and taking out the rubbish and maybe putting out rubbish bin out on bin days? I can’t remember. Otherwise, they will take your bond.
The company kept sending links via Booking.com even though these get removed due to scam risk by the app. Despite threatening to take bond for not taking out rubbish or things left uncleaned, they do not provide suitable cleaning products in the house.
The “sun room” looks nice in the photos but in reality was not very nice and there were crumbs on the table and floor.
- Kotsoglous (5/5): It was ok for our purpose. Probably wouldn’t rebook . Didn’t suit our vibe as was fussy instead of practical - Location , beds were warm and comfortable Far too much decor . Not enough cookware or cooking utensils Dinning and lounge areas were not practical.
- Kelly (7/5): Enjoyable loved it minus the heating not being great - Loved the charm and location It was very cold the heating wasn’t great and was hard to get warm
- Meredydd (9/5): A picture perfect setting - The house was stunningly beautiful, beds were warm and comfortable and the staff (Grace) was extremely responsive. It was freezing cold because of a cold snap in mount gambier and the heaters were not warm enough for the house and some pots were dirty on arrival but cleaners have been notified about that and we then went and purchased our wood for the wood burning fire but it was still freezing due to such cold weather. Couldn't really be helped
- Mcdonnell (3/5): Thought I would save money by being able to eat at accommodation but couldn't eat their had to eat p - I had to buy breakfast was unable to use kettle facilities that stated was suppose to be there was not cost me more money than I budgeted for Was nothing like the photos showed was not clean should of been reimbursed for some of the money was not even though I sent photos of how un clean it was
- Brittny (5/5): Overall nice place. Price doesn’t justify the lack of care for some things. - Property was nice no denying it. But for price your paying there was a lot of things we’d expect that we didn’t receive/have. Stains on carpet, one bedrooms light globe was blown. Cobwebs. Yard was unmowed/ needed to be weeded. (If you know Mount gambier the weather is miserable so I’ll give them a break for the outside stuff as no one wants to do that when it’s raining) chips on the paint. A loose floor board on the stairs.
- Sam (9/5): Superb -
- Sandra (9/5): Great place to stay - Bedrooms Nothing
- Shenglong (7/5): Central location, spacious and idyllic enjoyment - Great location at the center of Mount Gambier.
Walking distance to shops and the cave park.
The house is good, big enough for 4 adults and 2 kids. Kids like the attics with a secret wardrobe.
There is vacuum, washer and dryer. No pressure to bring a lot of clothes.
Backyard and sun room are also great. I spent a few hours on a sunny day just sitting in the run room and watch the grass in the backyard. Host could've provided more toiletries. We stayed there for 10 days. There were only 6 toilet paper rolls, 1/5 bottle of laundry detergent, and a couple of little bags of shampoos and body wash. But they were easily available in the nearby Woolworths.
My main disappointment is with the agent - Unwind holidays.
Unwind kept sending me messages about "Top reasons customers lose their bonds: xxxx xxx". Two times of this would've been enough. 4-5 times was too much and felt like a threat. Most travelers are responsible people, and there is no need to keep telling people what to do. Unwind didn't put in the message when we would get our bond back even after we checked out. I had to ask them for updates. A more responsible thing to do is to provide bond return information on the day of checkout, which should be specific not just within 14 days. I did get my bond back, but I would appreciate a proactive communication about this.
Unwind also asked for ID to be sent via email, which goes directly against with Booking.com's online security tips. There should be a better arrangement between Unwind and Booking.com, as to how to send such information.
