Guest Reviews
- Renata (10/5): Amazing. We'll be back - It was set in the jungle, open sided, and surrounded by nature and wildlife
- Giselle (10/5): Bellísimo - Experiencia inmersiva en la naturaleza, la playa hermosa a pasos de distancia, el sonido del mar se escucha desde la casa lo cual es muy relajante.
- Melissa (9/5): Superb - Casa Contiki was beautiful and relaxing- just what we needed after a few days of hiking in Corcovado.
You could see and hear the ocean from the casa as well as lots of wildlife. The wading pools were refreshing after walking around in the heat. The beach was just a short walk, and the road was good for wildlife viewing of monkeys and birds. There were some bug visitors, but we are in the forest so was to be expected. Joel was so friendly and accommodating, he brought us coconuts and even drove us to Puerto Jiménez to catch our flight home and stopped to look for animals along the way. Maria worked a laundry miracle and got our smelly hiking clothes smelling like new. The casa was very private but not too secluded from civilization as other rentals were close by. Overall this was a lovely stay! Highly recommend! Bugs coming in from the open air concept, but we knew that would happen!
- Leah (10/5): Absolutely the best place and experience we had in Costa Rica, or any place! - Felt like a 5 star property, location, cleanliness, and service of our host. Joel was amazing, and went above and beyond for us in so many ways. We could hike and walk through trails to a waterfall and beaches right from the property. We did not want to leave, and will absolutely make it part of our trip when we come back to Costa Rica! Loved everything!
- Jeannine (10/5): Exceptional - It is an incredible place! There are no windows so the breeze comes in and the temperature was perfectly comfortable. Creatures came in too in the night, as we’d forgotten to lock up the cupboards and refrigerator, and they left perfectly gutted plantain skins on the floor. They also took a bag of tortilla chips out of the cupboard.
The sounds of the rainforest are constant- the cicadas, birds, the tremendous pounding of the ocean. It was excitingly eerie at first- the remoteness, the sounds, the lack of contact with the world, but as we relaxed into it, it was transformative.
Bring lots of food as the two restaurants are a ways down the road. The road is extremely rutted in places so it takes at least 30 minutes to travel to the main road. There is no WiFi.
We stayed six days and had amazing experiences like no other. Orlando was a perfect host- he arranged two amazing tours for us and even brought us some groceries we needed from the store. we were sad to leave. It’s a wild, wonderful experience on an incredible part of the world.
