Guest Reviews
- Nik (10/5): - Amazing place in amazing location. Big thank-you to Kim (the host) who ensured that our stay is super comfortable.
- Cheryl (7/5): - The house provided a homely feel & we enjoyed the fireplace. The fold out lounges were a little tricky but we were able to unfold them after some guidance from the property owner, Kym.
- K. Martin (8/5): Lovely views and location. - Great location. Very warm with woodfire burning.
- Rachel (8/5): -
- Aayush (10/5): - loved it
- Christina (7/5): Very interesting property. It is an interesting experience. - the information on booking.com about the property is a 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms property but it only has 1 bathroom. It is a bit disappointed about that. May be the information is not accurate.
- Barbora (7/5): - The concept of a roundhouse is cool, well equiped, secluded location but still quite close to Cradle Mountain and other natural monuments. The whole house deserved to be cleaned more thoroughly, but it wasn’t a dealbreaker, we still enjoyed the stay.
- Michael (4/5): Unique dwelling with lovely view that has potential to be a steller accomendation - - view is fantastic
- host was pleasant
- unique building was interesting
- beds were comfortable
- guitar was there
- basic entertainment was nice to have - homemade building had quirks (small staircase, leaks, bad for big/tall person)
- internet/reception was poor
- bathroom felt lacking in privacy
- Sema (10/5): lovely and peaceful - the interesting architecture and the magnificent views
- Elizabeth (8/5): - The accommodation was really beautiful. Location was amazing.
- Darren (8/5): -
- Clarissa (8/5): - The place is amazing, and Kim is very nice. If you’re looking for a nature escape, this is the place :)
- Ella (10/5): The perfect forest getaway - The Roundhouse was a perfect getaway in the forest! The surroundings were beautiful and the view was to die for! We loved our time there, the cabin was beautifully made and well stocked. The host Kim was so kind and helpful, and had some lovely conversations. Overall, a relaxing and peaceful time. I look forward to visiting again! Just note that when it states there is wifi, the connection is quite slow and only available in parts of the house - this didn’t bother us personally but something to be aware of.

- Diana (9/5): Very comfortable, great house to come home to... - I liked the off-the-grid aspect to the property. Beautiful surrounds and luscious green forest... Loved the construction of the home, very homely and warm with the fireplace. sadly the on-site cafe was closed on the days we stayed at the property.
- Alejandro (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ray (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rw (10/5): Such a place is difficult to forget because it has distinct nuances and provides one of the most mem - We adore the location, which is incredibly distinctive and creative. We were shown around the property by Kim, the owner. And we hope to return for another visit shortly. Nothing
- Gabrielle (8/5): We absolutely loved staying here. - Unique house in a gorgeous location in the hills. Fabulous views from most windows and the deck.
The Woodford meant we were cosy and warm. The kitchen, in particular, the cupboards are in need of cleaning.
- Gabrielle (8/5): Very good -
- Christine (8/5): Very good - The location was tranquil. Beautiful outlook. We had sun one day and rain the next, both had their beauty. The architecture was very unique and took such great advantage of the environment. The windows were very dirty. The bedrooms were very small with nowhere to put luggage. We did not realise just how steep the steps would be, very challenging for an aging person.
- Sandra (9/5): A quiet place in the forrest - In the middle of nowhere. Great host and delicious Thai food at the cafe.
- Kent (9/5): Superb -
- Ronald (9/5): Great stay, amazing diner. - Great place to stay, nothing like this.Great architecture all build by the owner himself, amazing view!
We also had an amazing diner at the Butterfly Cafe on-site.
- Myriam (9/5): We had a fantastic stay in this charming place. - Quirky original building in fabulous setting. The owner was very kind and helpful.
- Muguet (9/5): Warm and welcome stay at the Roundhouse - Wonderful stay at the roundhouse. Warm welcome and stay. Large spaces and perfect for 4 adults. Beds could use an upgrade, though this is a personal preference as we are used to bigger beds.
- Ethan (10/5): Incredible location, unique stay - The view/location was incredible! I also loved the food at the cafe! The staircase was a little narrow, I had to turn sideways to climb down. Doesn't take away from the place but may be an issue to some people
- Andrew (10/5): A great time, thank you. -
- Faye (8/5): Very good - Fantastic location and views out over the mountains. Japanese Bath house experience was too expensive and the facility was untidy and unkempt.
- Tanya (10/5): Kim and Ginny have created a unique and enjoyable experience for all guests. - Beautiful views, friendly hosts, great dinner options. Unique accommodation. It felt like we were in the Shire. Steep driveway.
- Rice (9/5): Hosts were lovely and the location was stunning. -
- Darren (10/5): Peace, tranquility, serenity, perfect. - This place is absolutely amazing and needs to be experienced to enjoy the true wonder that this accomodation in this setting brings. It is the most beautiful getaway with all the comforts of home, We cannot recommend this place enough. My wife and I loved it so much we were discussing when we would stay again before we even left. Luckily we left our jackets behind so we are going back for a day trip to collect them and enjoy the cafe while we are there.
- Rebecca (10/5): The round house is a beautiful, creative and comfortable space. We loved the remoteness and natural. -
- Tanya (9/5): The Roundhouse is a truly memorable location for a holiday - Unique and beautiful building in a peaceful location
- Hannah (8/5): good spot to trip. - the attention to detail and the unique character that detail gave the house. nothing!
- Marlene (10/5): A unique experience - Kim was so welcoming and it was a special experience to stay somewhere that was handcrafted by a true artist. It rained the whole time we were there but we loved the gorgeous scenery, the house, and the wood fire.
- Kwanchanok (10/5): Exceptional - This is my second time coming here and it never disappoints. The view is beautiful, quiet, and the starry sky makes my family very happy.

- Gaiter (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kaine (8/5): Very good -
- Ku (8/5): Very good -

- Ann (9/5): Fabulous - Loved the quirkiness
- Mandy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dieter (9/5): Superb -
- Judith (9/5): A very unusual and interesting house with a great host and lovely surroundings. - The very unusual house and the location. Kim was a very hospital and obliging host, gave us some eggs. Everything was clean and tidy with all you would need to cook for yourself. Fly screens on more doors and windows for the hotter weather as opening them otherwise let's in insects and flies.
- Jennifer (10/5): Exceptional - This is truly a special place. The building is unique and the setting is beautiful.
- Kate (8/5): Isolated spot with great view - Great location, wild witches in the wood vibe (we were there when weather was slightly sinister). Friendly host.
- Claire (7/5): The space and the view will stay with me - Lovely space with amazing g views and a great restaurant in the complex Being wood you could hear each other everywhere in the building - I could hear my friend snore the other side of the bathroom!
- Meg (10/5): No matter what you have planned - make sure you catch a night here - A unique experience you don’t get to see all the time . Walls and trees must have seen mich in the last 50 years and you can feel the stories they have to tell. N/a
- Matt (9/5): Never forget staying here. - Felt like being in the absolute wilderness even though the cute town of Deloraine is only 20 minutes away. Incredibly creative architecture and peaceful outlook. Nice onsen experience.
- Anthony (10/5): Exceptional -
- Murphy (10/5): Exceptional - The uniqueness of the Roundhouse. Such a different and amazing place to stay. Loved the top hammock area and the balcony. Beautiful decor. Butterfly Cafe onsite was a bonus with amazing food. The bed size wasn't the best but it doesn't help with my height.
- Andrea (9/5): Amazing experience in the mountains, loved it!!! - It was so unique - so unusual with an amazing view
- Jj (8/5): Very good -
- Karin (7/5): Beautiful location, but the house has seen better days. - Excellent location, great views, friendly owner, unique house design, good heater. The house looks run-down and requires many repairs. It wasn't particularly clean, and it took us a while to get rid of the numerous big flies inside, as well as ants and spiders. It is easy for them to enter because there are many gaps to the outside, and there are no flyscreens on the windows. The bedrooms are very small, especially one of the two, and there was no wardrobe. There was no tea towel or hand towel in the kitchen, and I could not find any coasters and only one placemat.
- Peter (10/5): The highlight of the trip so far. - Incredible location and views and a unique home construction. Host was very informative and helpful. Wildlife including a pademelon with joey outside the kitchen window added to the experience. should have booked for longer. It was a hard place to leave.
- Carol (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nathan (9/5): Superb -
- Mitchell (9/5): Fantastic few days, the Japanese Bath House is amazing - Fantastic views, very relaxing and such a nature lovers escape. Weather, can’t blame them for that though!
- Kwanchanok (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bridget (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful accommodation presented with love and care by owners.
- Majumdar (10/5): Perfect - The property was just awesome with lovely views. The hosts were very helpful. Kim the host has created a masterpiece and will surely want to visit and stay for a longer time.
Actually, when I was looking for properties in Tasi, I thought that the property will be a bit uncomfortable for my old parents. But it was super comfortable for them, the property was pretty warm in the winter, and enjoyed a warm mineral bath in the mural-decorated bathtub. We also relished the warm delicious dinner arranged by the hosts. It is also not far from the town of Deloraine.
Will recommend this place for every nature lover. The stay was comfortable and the food was equally awesome & delicious.
- Andy (10/5): Amazing location and accommodation, thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. - Friendly hosts, unique location and setting. Unique accommodation. Home cooked meals available at the cafe. Kim needs help to keep on top of everything whilst he focusses on the new building. Only small issues requiring maintenance will make the experience even more amazing.
- Jarrod (10/5): Uou MUST have them cook a meal a night for you, STUNNING - amazing views both during day and stars at night! main bed could be one size bigger lol
- Kirsty (10/5): Exceptional - Everything. Beautiful location. Beautiful house. Great story regarding the build. Wildlife Nothing
- Mark (8/5): Very good - Funky building with a story and great views of the forest The front entrance step was not very visible
- Dominik (10/5): Would do it every time being in Tasmania! - Everything! Kim the owner is a inspiration and you can see the love of an artist in every detail in the roundhouse.Such a heartwarming couple! a hidden spot in Tasmania for sure! don’t miss out out! and take the bath! it’s worth it! that I didn’t have more time so stay at the spot ;)
- Malcolm (9/5): Superb - The views from the roundhouse take your breath away
- Rosalie (8/5): Great to experience a semi wilderness experience in the quirky Roundhouse - A very unique and quirky property with stunning vista
- Alena (10/5): An unforgettable experience with spectacular views - A hidden gem in an amazing location. The property offers a haven of tranquility to enjoy the magnificent views and to watch the local wildlife. The original design of the house is making the experience even more relaxing and enjoyable. I can't see any faults.
- Rufiath (9/5): Quirky and cool accommodation in beautiful location - Stunning and unique location and accommodation. Spacious and tranquil with beautiful views and wallabies at the doorstep literally. Comfortable beds and great kitchen facilities. Kim is a lovely caring host who gives you your space but is available to assist if needed. We took up the opportunity to have dinner at the Butterfly Cafe (pre-booked) and Chintana cooked up a delicious feast. A perfect way to end a relaxing stay. Be warned that its a slow drive up unsealed roads to the property and our little hatchback struggled to get up the unsealed driveway to the accommodation. Slow limited wifi and only service with Telstra. In a way great to really disconnect with the outside world and focus on a relaxing stay in natural surroundings.
- Daniel (8/5): Very good -
- Jo (8/5): Remote getaway that is truely unique - The Roundhouse is a very unique building that impresses you with every curve. The bush setting is beautiful and really helps you feel like you've escaped the busy cities. The onsite "Butterfly cafe" is some of the best food you can eat, anywhere! The onsen baths are lovely and a relaxing experience, but perhaps a little bit expensive unless you have enough time to use it for an extended period. Getting to the Roundhouse required driving on unsealed roads that are not in the best shape. Would recommend arriving well and truely in daylight hours to avoid nighttime wildlife on the roads.
- Michelle (10/5): Amazing, relaxing and unique - The accomodation was the most unique stay we've been to. The onsen was such a great addition and so relaxing.
My friends and I stayed here for a night and regret not staying for longer. It's such a relaxing stay and our hosts did such an amazing job at timing dinner and heating the onsen. Kim and Chintana were super friendly and their stories were very interesting. We opted to add a home cooked meal (cooked by Chintana) to the stay and it was absolutely delicious!
We also saw some rock wallabies grazing the area. There's a nice walking track that heads towards the water source. We didn't end up at the end as it got too muddy but it was lovely little adventure.
- Tracy (9/5): Superb -
- Kate (10/5): Incredible! - Absolutely incredible views, a magical spot. Amazing building. Wildlife all around. We did a wonderful little walk direct from the property with our two little kids which we all enjoyed. Really welcoming. Thanks for an amazing stay!
- Jim (10/5): An incredibly unique stay amongst a beautiful bush setting with welcoming hosts - It was such a pleasure to stay in this incredible building, hand built by Kim, and to have the opportunity to speak to him and learn more about it. He and Chintana were incredibly welcoming hosts and we enjoyed sharing a dinner with them during our stay. The building is surrounded by beautiful bushland with an interesting walking track on the property and is close enough to Deloraine to provide easy access to other eating options and activities. The self-catering kitchen is well equipped to allow guests to cook their own meals too. Seeing the pictures of the bath house prior to booking, I made the mistake of thinking access to this was included with our booking. After booking, Kim rightly pointed out that there is a lot of effort, wood and water required to fill and heat the bath and so there is a $180 fee which, although reasonable, is something I probably would have like to have known prior to booking.
- Nicole (9/5): A place to come to relax, unwind, enjoy nature and appreciate this amazing home for what it is. - Our family of 6 had a beautiful stay at the roundhouse. There was a cot for our baby and fold out sofa for our teen. We all loved the craftsmanship of this gorgeous home. It was an absolute pleasure taking our children to the roundhouse, it blew their minds. Lovely walks through the forest to explore. I think my daughter thought she was a fairy princess amongst the ferns and moss. We absolutely loved the bathhouse too. The entire experience was nothing short of amazing. Thank you Kim!
- Joe (9/5): peaceful and accommodating - amazing location and lovely owners
- Ck (9/5): Superb -
- Healy (10/5): If you’re looking for a true, unique, magical forest getaway, look no further - the Roundhouse is perfect. - The Roundhouse is absolutely gorgeous. it’s so clear that time, love and true craftsmanship has gone into the creation of the property - and it’s unique! Loved it all!
