Guest Reviews
- Grant (8/5): -
- Susan (2/5): In general, this property needs to be freshened up, new matching furniture and backyard tidied up. - Available rooms were spacious. 1. Mould on kitchen & laundry ceilings.
2. Back yard was untidy and unkept.
3. There is a washing machine, but cannot be used as there is lock on the power cord. Received email to say is not available unless you pay an extra $20!!
4. Chewing gum found on bedhead!
5. Holes in bathroom ceiling and wall. A very rudimentary attempt to patch holes, where fittings have been removed.
6. Decking is very weathered with nail heads sticking up, which is dangerous in bare feet.
7. Random collection of crockery & utensils. Only one wine glass. The rest were random drinking glasses.
8. Shower tidy is broken, so soap, shampoo, etc has to go on floor.
9. Both sink plugs in kitchen do not hold water, as they have perished. So, if owner if so concerned about cost & scarcity of S.A. water as she claims (re the washing machine), then try providing new plugs.
10. No welcoming letter or list of facilities in town, just a form listing of the "House Rules that you agreed to when making the booking".
11. A random collection of furniture. Looks like furniture no longer wanted in the home, so it can go to the holiday house.
12. Dirty windows.
13. Pillows are very, very soft (no body) and the filling is noisy, as is the doona.
14. After discovering the state of the "cottage", I checked reviews and noticed that each time a guest posted negative reviews, the owner "shouts" back in capital letters and is not receptive to constructive feedback.
15. In general, this property needs to be freshened up, new matching furniture, backyard tidied up and a more welcoming approach to paying guests.
- Jennifer (7/5): Peaceful location with birdlife in the trees near the decking. Spacious living area. - We liked the spacious open plan living area with mix of wood and iron features. Fully stocked kitchen with utensils, crockery etc. even ice cubes in the freezer. Location was further from the beach than anticipated. It would be lovely in winter looking at the hills on the deck or sitting beside the fire It was advertised as a cottage but really it's a 3 bedroom house with 2 rooms marked as private. It stated 'air conditioned' and we thought that mean in all areas of the house. The split system system barely achieved cooling in the living area and a pedestal fan was available for use in the bedroom, a long way away. Unfortunately there was a heat wave in Victor Harbor, 43 degrees, on Tuesday and Wednesday of our 3 day stay. At night there were possums that ran across the roof. To really appreciate the scenic view it would have been nice to have clean windows.
- Michele (3/5): TLC needed desperately - Has been a nice holiday home in the past, mattress in main bedroom comfortable Needs a professional clean especially the kitchen. Furniture needs updating, feels like someones holiday house everything old and mismatched, only one bowl for breakfast. Outside the presentation was very poor, Rye grass and dead garden plants a hazard. Yes I know I should have read the description better..no wifi. It's a standard expectation even caravan parks supply. Booking a cottage you would expect full use of amenities which you can have if you pay an extra $20 this apparently breaks the SA drought and you can then use the washing machine. Whole place needs TLC and an updated photo reflecting how it really is. Overpriced better off staying at a motel or caravan park.
- Jeanette (10/5): - The cottage was cosy and comfortable and had everything you needed. In the centre of town, close to shops and restaurants. Easy access to the property with key safe. Nothing really
- Allan (8/5): Lovely country cottage - Liked the homely feel and vaulted ceiling in the open plan kitchen and lounge room. Large bathroom and bedroom. Gorgeous views from both rooms. The 2 kookaburras outside the bedroom balcony were a special treat. Car parking is limited to a steep sloping gravel driveway at the side of the house and you're not allowed to park outside the front door.
- Howard (9/5): We enjoyed our stay (week)....a good position to tour round the Fleurieu Peninsular from. - Was in a very quiet area....large bedroom (with walk-in robe).....kitchen well equipped....lovely big living area....comfortable lounge.....good view to the west....airconditioning very quiet.....big bathroom (with hand rail in shower).... Lawns, and back yard quite untidy.....tree near bathroom window scratched on roof (needs trimming)......gate needs better latch to hold it open especially with the strong winds in the area.
- Brett (5/5): Location was perfect. Rules of the house a bit strict. Not sure if we would stay again. -
- Sonja (7/5): Good - The bed. Mattress with springs was not comfortable
- Cathy (9/5): Enjoyed our stay - Convenient location. Very comfortable. Nothing to dislike
- Stella (8/5): Apart from the door it was very nice - Very clean and being amungst the trees and Being given the wrong pin no to open the door spent 1 hour working it out couldn’t contact anyone
- Zeppos (8/5): Very good -
- Nazario (6/5): Pleasant - Deck, everything in kitchen that was needed, spacious house, comfortable, car spot under cover, not too far from town, House was very clean and tidy. No BBQ on deck, Possum getting on roof and decking each night which woke us up at night/early morning, bathroom needed obscured glass not see through glass.
- Woodd (9/5): Superb -
- Carol (3/5): Uninviting and unloved - Plenty of space in the house. Yard was overgrown and derelict. Grass growing out of gutters. Towels stunk. House has musty smell - unloved and unlived in. I left a written note about my disappointment and no one got in touch with me.
- Ian (9/5): Superb -
- Debra (8/5): Very good -
- Maxine (9/5): Superb - Proximity to the venue and comfortable to share with a friend On Street parking was uncomfortable
- Lina (9/5): Nice place. Would stay there again 😊 - More than we’re expected Possums on the roof every morning early.
- Jennifer (10/5): Affordable, cosy, spacious and clean.. - Great location.
The Cottage was spacious and very clean.
A cosy place to stay..😀
- Glyn (8/5): Great accommodation for us despite the inadequate heating - The property has excellent facilities, great beds with a large living area and cottage was in a great location, close to the CBD. Parking was on the quiet street was okay. The sir conditioner was unable to provide sufficient warmth with the cold temperatures in July, so the evenings were uncomfortable. Lighting in the living area could be better.
- Castledine (8/5): Very good - The view from the balcony and the cosy feel of the house Animal sensors that would go off constantly between 6am and 5pm
- Georgios (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dave (6/5): We had a lovely start apart from losing sleep each night to the possum!! - Liked the views, nice quiet area to stay yet close to town. House had lots of space. Water nice and hot and a lovely bath. We DIDNT like the resident possum who banged LOUDLY on the roof near our bed everynight in the middle of the night.
- Adele (4/5): Place was shabby and it was clear there were cost cutting measures in place - Quiet and roomy Lights were dim or didn’t work no toiletries no flannels only one pillow each and these were poor quality no washing machine
- Ray (6/5): Could have been better have stayed in many cottage/ houses this is the most disappointing - Location was good No internet (my fault didn't check site properly) No washing machine, found out on arrival, one there but lock box over plug, very cold house seems to be no insulation, furniture was very shabby couch had patches missing from arms.
- Judith (9/5): Superb -
- Ron (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Rowena (9/5): Superb - Charming decor. Spacious living area. Friendly owner. Delightful position of lounge and deck near treetops with birds close. Quiet area. Very well equipped kitchen. Shower temperature tricky to get right.
- Virgo (1/5): Bad -
- Geoff (9/5): Well Provisioned Accommodatioin in Victor Harbour - 2 keyboxes on front door and some confusion as to the box that held the key.
- Julia (9/5): Lovely cottage for long weekend getaway. - The cottage was light, bright, clean and comfortable. Perfect location for our time away in Victor Harbor. We enjoyed the quiet location and lovely views from the lounge and tree-top verandah. Beds were comfortable. The host left eggs from their farm which was lovely. Nothing.
- Peter (5/5): Pretty basic facilities. The pillows because the ones they have give no head/neck support - Convenient location Pillows terrible. Small TV with poor sound. 3 Clocks but none working. Washing machine not available for use. It was not in the long list of amenities but not something I normally have to check for.
- Noreen (9/5): Superb - Lots of space lovely bright and airy great views.Plenty of plates utensils etc loved looking out at the birds in the mornings even though the wombats made a bit of a racket on the roof but we are used to that at home lovely and clean Even though there were plenty of utensils we couldn't see any steak knives
- Anonymous (10/5): A welcoming, relaxing place to stay with everything you need on holidays! - The cottage was very homey and in a great location - just a 5 min drive from the beach and town centre! We loved our stay here, honestly couldn’t fault the place. Great facilities and would definitely stay here again.
- Anthea (2/5): Very poor - Clean and tidy house in quiet location Most unwelcoming host. We had booked for 3 adults, on arrival found only towels and linen for 2 and second bed not made. Contacted host who told us she would provide linen next day leaving no where for one adult to sleep. Only provided linen that night after our phone call insisting linen was needed that night. Messages left in house are unwelcoming tone and guests expected to pay for any extras that are in the house, fire place in lounge area but not provided with wood, washing machine in laundry locked for stays less than one week
- Glenda (7/5): Good -
- Michelle (8/5): Very good -
- Bruce (9/5): Great location and comfortable -
- Carol (6/5): Pleasant -
- Golf1950 (10/5): Exceptional -
- Qiuju (9/5): Feel like at home - perfectly positioned, pleasant and beautiful - Spacious N/A
- Dianne (6/5): Pleasant - the lack of laundry facilities
- Tanya (7/5): beautifully presented and it has everything especially in the kitchen ideal for a family or like us a couple who just ne - having so much space and being able to spread out and relax. beautiful house with exceptional views so quiet shower leaked and floor mat for bathroom was impossible to dry. No air con in the master bedroom just a small pedestal fan. being expected to clean the place when we’re charged a cleaning fee not that we were messy. tv could of been bigger for the space it was in. also master bedroom mattress was way too soft
- Richard (8/5): Comfortable-eveything supplied in the kitchen for cooking - The location was nice and quite-no road noise or traffic The oven light did not work-The extension cord in the second bedroom was not working-so could not use bedside table light. Also the light on the kitchen exhaust fan was blown and not working. There were a few cock roaches-one in the oven when I opened it and one in the bathroom.Do not know if they are a problem in this town/area.
- Alan (9/5): Excellent, quiet location. - Location excellent, 15 min walk to Victor Harbour The following items should have been provided - Extra firm pillows. Bath slip mat. Extra bedding/ blanket. Ironing board.
- David (8/5): Very good - House was comfortable , cosy and clean. The bed is comfortable. The verandah was lovely to sit on over looking the trees. House is in good location close to shops and beach. Couldn't find the number on the house. Yard need a good tidy up. Disappointed that I couldn't use the washing machine after travelling from Queensland.
- George (9/5): Superb -
- Roslyn (9/5): Superb -
- Monique (8/5): Very good -
- Lawrence (8/5): Very good - Great size, peaceful, clean and comfortable. Nothing
- Duncan (8/5): Fantastic property with caveats - Delightful property with semi-rural aspect yet close enough to walk to shops and beach. Spacious modern and clean. Easy check in and everything worked. I loved the views and the sunny balcony. Possums cavorting on the roof all night. They leap onto the roof just above the back bedroom. Very disturbing at times. Also the shower was not great, cramped and hard to adjust.
- Neill (8/5): other than the above comment I would rebooked providing the possums were removed - location, close to everything but quiet there are possums on the roof that need to be removed
- Alan (8/5): Very good -
- Caroline (10/5): It was very enjoyable. - Exceptional. Very clean and tidy. Everything supplied. Highly recommend. Not a complaint but a mirror in the smaller bedrooms would be nice.
- Addicoat (9/5): Superb -
- Gwyneth (10/5): Exceptional -
- Raymond (9/5): Superb - The sofa and 2 chairs were very soft - a bit uncomfortable.
- Debbie (8/5): Very good -
- Lorraine (8/5): Very good -
- Terry (6/5): Pleasant -
