Olivia (6/5): Basic but could be so much nicer with minimal effort - Excellent location for walking to town, beds were comfortable, smart tv was good, air conditioning units in all bedrooms and living areas Really needs a good clean, it hasn’t been given a decent clean in a long while. There’s a lot of things we’re asked to do on departure and I really don’t think any more cleaning is done after that! We undoubtedly left it cleaner than we found it. When we vacuumed the rugs, the amount of dirt picked up was gross. High touch points (bunk bed ladder, fridge etc) were grubby, the shower was pretty yuck with previous guests soap still squirted on the walls, empty food packets found amongst the spare doonas, dirty towel found hanging on the back of bunk bedroom door, the bed linen and towels were clean but a lot of them were stained, which I only point out as they threaten to keep deposit money to replace any stained linens. The drawers on the trundle bed were all broken, we found dried urine behind first bedroom door (presumably dog), crumbs/bug poop in the pantry cupboards, unusable lamp in lounge room (no plug access and no bulb). So many minor negatives that are so easily fixable if a little bit of attention was paid to the details. $500 deposit is held with strict instructions for departure and threats to use deposit money for additional cleaning seems pretty harsh when the place doesn’t seem to of been cleaned very well before hand.
