- monica (10/5): Our stay was peaceful, with fascinating wild birds and a cosy calm we truly enjoyed. - A warm and cosy space filled with peacefulness, making our stay wonderfully relaxing from start to finish. No washing machine - but it was no worry
- Jill (8/5): - We often look for places to stay that are not run of the mill. St Peter’s was certainly this. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
- Barbara (9/5): -
- Debbie (10/5): Relaxing - Seclusion and privacy Nothing really. The TV came up as Not Programmed when we turned it om but that did not concern us at all - happy with the peace and quiet.
- Alexandra (10/5): -
- Paulette (10/5): Stunning location, beautiful renovation.an ideal get away. - Beautiful. The outdoor space is impeccably maintained. A joy to sit out in. If you intend to self cater bring what you need. It is set up but missing good frypans, sharp knives etc. Everything else is there.
- Marni (10/5): Loved it. - The ambience of the accommodation was cosy, and the location was so peaceful. It was like stepping back to quieter times.
- Stanley (10/5): Great - Cookware could be reviewed..frypan/casserole diced
- Greg (10/5): Very relaxing and comfortable -
- Steven (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kristy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rae (10/5): Our visit was wonderful!! So very relaxing but plenty to do at your doorstep if you wish to. - St Peters was an excellent spot for us to stay as we were attending a family 50th nearby. Loved the idyllic location, very peaceful and close to beaches and Bridgewater Bay. I grew up in the area and loved spending time at this gorgeous spot. We really enjoyed the relaxing vibe of St Peters in between catching up with family and friends. There was everything we needed available in a lovely cosy atmosphere. We did have a huge eight legged visitor on the first night but he was more than happy to relocate 😆 A very special place to stay. We will be back. Only be a very minor thing like being able to do laundry if you were staying longer term.
- Fell (9/5): Superb -
- Mandy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Glenda (9/5): Beautifully renovated church in a peaceful location. Close to magnificent Bridgewayer Bay. - The re vamping of this old church was done with flair and imagination. The fittings are of good quality and nothing was lacking.
I really like a property when there are no or few notices stating the house rules. St Peter's had minimal such notices, which made for a feeling of welcome and that the hosts trusted us with their property. It would have been lovely to have an outdoor dining table and chairs so as to enjoy the peaceful twilight and country air over dinner.
The spa didn't work, but it didn't really matter. I felt guilty about using all that water to fill it! We used rhe shower after that.
- Rick (7/5): Good - Quiet and peaceful. Good sized yard for our little dog ( although we were concerned about snakes in the brush around the back and side boundaries ). Short drive to the beach, where there is a nice cafe. Portland only 15 minute drive for supplies. It was very warm in the loft ( bedroom ) with only a ceiling fan. Being summer, it was quite warm upstairs near the roof.
There were a lot of ants invading the kitchen area, a bigger effort is required to get rid of them.
We lost our power 2 out of the 6 nights we were there for 2 hours each time ( not the hosts fault ). Problem being that when the power goes out, the water pump doesn't work, so you have no mains water.
Internet WIFI was very slow ( 2-5Mbps ), thankfully we had brought our Starlink Mini to provide fast internet.
- Brian (7/5): Good -
- George (10/5): Exceptional - Fully fenced yard in a quiet spot in a lovely historic building, dogs loved it. Lack of outdoor table in the garden
- J (10/5): Being able to take our dogs made this accommodation extra special... the secure yard was great!!! - All of it... the historic building... the extensive secure grounds surrounding the property... pet friendly... easy access to beaches, walks, fishing etc but only 15 minutes from Portland by car... comfortable furnishings... has everything you need and more... Not one thing... we enjoyed every aspect of the property...
- Nick- (10/5): Exceptional - Loved everything about it!! Different, unique and in a peaceful location. The kitchen has everything you'll need if you planning to prepare meals, comfy couches, great bed in the alcove. Travelled with my wife and doggy. She didn't know where we were staying until I pulled up at the gate and she saw the converted church. The wide eyes and ear to ear grin said it all. Would have liked to stay longer!
- Dr (10/5): Wonderful stay in unique and beautiful church building in amazing Cape Bridgewater - Everything. You know that you need to do without certain luxuries eg ensuite because this is a historical and unique building. We loved the special environment. Nothing at all. Met all our expectations
- John (9/5): Beautiful - Amazing place, highly recommended The TV and video didn’t work no matter what we’ve tried…
- Michelle (10/5): Amazing church conversion in stunning location. - Fantastic property with so much character - outstanding conversion from church to accommodation.
Lovely property and great dog friendly garden - safe and secure.
The weekend was really cold and terrible weather but great fire with plenty of wood made it cosy and warm.
Fantastically styled with excellent couches,,comfortable bed and high quality linens.
Location was on a hill and so peaceful away from everything.
Communication with owner was outstanding. She was absolutely brilliant responding to questions and being helpful when we had issues prior to arrival. Nothing - everything was brilliant.A few quirky things due to conversion but it made it half the fun.
- Peter (9/5): Superb - Beautifully renovated and well appointed. A very characterful and comfortable retreat. Close to all the region's spectacular scenery and attractions. Perfect yard for our dog to explore in safety. We have no complaints. We would have been interested to read about, or see images showing the church in it's original state, inside and out.
- Tim (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rachel (9/5): Superb -
- Suzanne (9/5): Superb - Beautiful building in lovely location
- Dougsandy (7/5): Good - Position was perfect for birding . Quaint historic building. Dark interior due to small church windows.
- Tanya (5/5): Great location, comfortable stay. - Location was great. Unique property. That there was no milk provided. Arriving in late with no facilities close by it would have been good to have a coffee/tea. Toilet cistern squealing all the time. Didn’t like the shower over the spa bath.
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional -
- Christoph (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maree (9/5): Superb -
- Anonymous (9/5): Superb - Everything was beautiful. The spa didn’t work which was sad. A lovely little get away.
- Benton (8/5): Very good -
- Peter (10/5): We enjoyed our stay and plan to return soon. - Dripping with character. We felt immersed in the beauty and tranquility of Cape Bridgewater. No washing machine.
- Greg (9/5): Very relaxing and means of de-stressing away from city life. Would have liked meeting owner. - The location, while out on its own, allowed us to relax in a quiet atmosphere but if required a short drive took us to Portland. Very comfortable and warm atmosphere. amenities well provided. Plentiful supply of firewood. This location was pet friendly with good fencing for pet safety. Really wasnt anything 'not liked'. Due to location of bedroom the heater caused a very hot mezzanine level. Perhaps a means of venting this excess heat could be developed.
- Kristin (10/5): Wonderful and cosy, wish we'd stayed longer - What a beautiful, cosy place. The property itself is large, and then you're surrounded by fields of horses and cows. The accommodation couldn't have been more comfortable. The kitchen is stocked with everything you could need and the fireplace heats the bedroom, which is up top, very well. We appreciated the DVD collection!
- Alice (10/5): Unique, beautiful, lots of character and warmth. Very relaxing and a great place to unwind. - A beautiful, comfortable, well appointed and thought out space. Plenty of stocked wood for the fireplace and everything we needed in the kitchen. Tranquil surroundings, very relaxing and quiet. Highly recommend.
- Mitchel (9/5): Superb - Very cosy, great wood fire and nice shower with plenty of hot water.
Lovely secluded location.
- Lynton (10/5): Exceptional - We loved the unique atmosphere of the church, tastefully renovated, whilst still retaining the feel of a sacred place. Was able to hear the wonderful sound of crashing waves in the distance, birds cheeping and the sound of contented cows close by. As well as pet friendly. What else would one need!
- Jennifer (10/5): Exceptional accomodation, not to be missed! - Unique, beautiful, spacious, quiet and had everything you need for a getaway. nothing
- Michael (9/5): great stay as always. be nice if the spa worked even though the property doesn’t advertise a spa, just remember years ag -
- Donna (8/5): Very relaxing and enjoyable - The location was wonderful, rural but not far to beaches and a main town We loved everything
