When we arrived it was setup and the heaters were on. After a long drive to Albany from Perth and arriving at night, opening the doors to a warm home was fantastic

• Christopher (8/5): Beautiful property close to the action - Beautiful house located very close to Eyre Park and Middleton Beach. Very light and airy, great coastal vibes, enclosed garden for the dog, off street parking, verandah with a view, comfy beds, great bathrooms. The fridge and microwave both need updating. For a big family holiday house, the fridge is smallish compared to the space it occupies and modern standards and despite having it on a milder setting it kept freezing our food, we lost quite a bit. The microwave is also very slow, took an age to heat anyway. For a property of this value, higher quality goods are expected to match the rest of the house. Also, it is school hols and very limited options were available, it is beautiful but also very expensive.

A great deal of thought had gone into making the Retreat very welcoming homely accommodation. If in Albany again would be happy to stay here again. Nothing apart from a slight fault with the tv. Notified the owner and hopefully this was an easy fault to rectify.

Beds are comfortable, bathrooms very clean and bright. Sitting outside on the deck is nice, but most of the time it was to windy. Would book a stay there definitely again. On weekdays the early morning traffic, but that’s all.

Bed extremely comfortable, good water pressure in shower, very quick wi-fi. Two bathrooms and two toilets very convenient. Place set out very well. Laundry downstairs with washing machine and dryer. Good play area for kids. Nice view from the back window. Can walk to a take away food shop across the road. Location very central. Quiet area - no night noise. Great value for money. Nothing negative at all

Loved the touches of complimentary snacks and chocolates and milk. Great location for Albany and Middleton Beach. Great deck for morning coffee from the machine in the sunshine. As a fussy tea drinker, a tea pot would have been good. Otherwise faultless.

It had everything we needed plus a welcoming bottle of wine and nibbles. It was easy to walk down to the park or the beach and not far from the Anzac Centre or town. Would highly recommend. Nothing

The bedrooms were lovely, very quiet and peaceful with great big comfy beds. It was a really well positioned house, ten minute walk from Middleton beach, 5 minute drive into town and 5 minutes walk to Sepping lake if you fancy a bit of bird spotting (pelicans, ibis, red winged fairy wrens etc). It was great - no issues

From the very comfortable bed, excellent shower and full kitchen to the cleanliness, individual air conditioning in bedrooms, great outdoor areas and laundry with option of dryer or laundry rack this has it all!
