Guest Reviews
- Carina (10/5): - So cozy a place and close to Flinders National Park. We would have liked to stay longer. Nigel is friendly and reached out to us before we arrived to make sure when we came. There was freshly baked bread and eggs, bacon to make in the morning. There is a really nice coffee mashing and all you could think of in the kitchen. There is a grill outside and nice outdoor facilities as well. We really liked it here and highly recommend staying here if you are planning on staying in Hawker.
- Lyn (10/5): Awesome stay in a very presentable house with so many extras provided by the host. If heading to Flinders Range and req - Property owner presented the accomm to a very high standard. So much included to make the stay extremely comfortable. Included were the following: home cooked hot bread with evening meal, coffee machine, huge range of tea, herbs and spices, bacon and eggs for breakfast, range of milk and washing machine and dryer. Has an outdoor garden area for sitting in the sun and relaxing with a drink and good conversations with friends. Nil
- Michael (10/5): Excellent. - Great location. Friendly and informative host.
- Deanna (10/5): Excellent house for an easy way to explore the Flindera Rangers. - This little house was a savior for us. We needed last minute accommodation due to a car accident and it was perfect. It had space and amenities for us to regroup, wash and repack all our clothes and plan how to get home. Nigel was ready for us immediately and still had a loaf of bread cooking for us. There was enough food for us to not need a shop - and it was delicious.
It would be a great spot as a home base to spend a week exploring the Flinders.
The owners are clearly very house proud.
- Leigh-Ann (10/5): - Just like a home away from home. Freshly baked bread on arrival was a lovely suprise.
Nigel has included everything you need for a comfortable stay.
Rien !
- Saltrams (9/5): Amazing welcome and care by kind host. - Nigel puts an outstanding amount of care and attention into his B&B. The provisioning is way beyond anything we have experienced before and his personal touch in meeting guests is much appreciated. There is a wealth of tourism information at the property and far more supplies of everything than we could possibly use or assimilate on a one night stopover. There was even a loaf of bread baking in a machine, timed to be ready when we arrived!
The main bedroom has a comfortable bed and is air conditioned. There’s a sitting room, dining area and small kitchen as well as laundry facilities, most of which we had no need to use. A gas BBQ was available, which we did use with pleasure for dinner in the garden.
Hawker is not large but this house is within easy walking distance of all the essentials; general store, garage & shop, hotel (pub) and tourist info/exhibition. For us, there was nothing to dislike but for more than 2 people the premises might feel somewhat bijou.
- p (10/5): - Nigel the owner was an absolute legend. He greeted is at the bnb and was a pleasure to meet.
The bnb was excellent and felt like home from the moment we walked in.
They have absolutely everything you need too, and the beds are really comfortable.
Highly recommend and I'll definitely go back.

I cannot fault the care and effort made to make our stay comfortable.

- Colin (10/5): A home away from home. Exceptional value for money. - Welcome from the host Nigel, was terrific. He provided us with a detailed explanation of the facilities. The beds were very comfortable as was the lounge area. The bonus DVD player allowed us to enjoy our own movies which we had taken with us. Whilst the refrigerator contained ample staples for a hearty breakfast if that is your thing, we had a light breakfast which was more than adequate for our needs. Zero !

We were met by the aroma of bread baking. That was a lovely welcome. also plenty of food in the fridge and pantry for our breakfasts.

- Susan (9/5): A great place to stay in Hawker especially if you have a dog.? - The host of this property was customer service focus. The bread maker was switch on & fresh bread was made, the kitchen was fully stocked.
He even greeted us & came to say goodbye when we left. It was a dog friendly accommodation & Daisy the French bull dog also loved her stay. Just a short walk to cafe &pub in Hawker!! Nothing!!
- Jean (10/5): The best! We are return visitors - Liked absolutely everything Nothing could be done to make this place any better
- Anastasiia (9/5): Superb - Host suggested the bigger house for us! That was amazing. Fresh bread, ham, milk and lollies for kids, variety of cereal for breakfast. We chose this location to be able to visit Flinders Ranges, that are 30 minutes drive. Very quiet nice place.
- Chris (10/5): Everything you could possible need in a homely stay - Nigel has thought this out well, the fine details are what makes this place. So many little extras and thoughtful "bits" throughout. It seems like he has said "what would I want if I was staying in a B&B?" and has provided the lot. Very well done and I would suggest a few nights here as a base to explore the Flinders as it will soon feel like home.
- Mike (10/5): Great stay in a warm and friendly property - Great location and every item you could possibly hope to find - the well stocked pantry made breakfast a breeze
- Victor (10/5): Exceptional - Very friendly host and great fresh bread from the breadmaker. We'll stocked fridge for breakfast. Host provided great information and suggestions for the area.
- Fiona (9/5): Superb -
- Sueryan (8/5): Hawker house - Location great. Warm welcome from Nigel, although we really didn't need to be shown around. The linen smelt fresh & clean & bread baking was welcoming. Having photo taken for 'collection'. Felt we weren't trusted, but that could be that we aren't used to being photographed at checkin nor used to being asked to let him know when we were leaving. Very unusual. We asked for our photo to be deleted & he was happy to do so.
- Zalinda (10/5): Beyond exceptionally pleased and surprised with the effort to accomodate & stock everything and go above and beyond - Where to begin! Everything was beyond great. Upon checking in he messaged us to advise the easy check in instructions. upon arriving place was spotless nice yard. Nigel had a fresh load of bread on for us, showed us how to use the coffee machine (great) and the place was stocked with 8 types of cereal all cooking needs oil and all various kinds of milk bacon eggs and other cooking herbs etc. heaters in every room. even a designated tv for all the things to see and so around flinders ranges in a menu type format. books large tv and lounge room. beautiful bedrooms with good quality linen and towels. just everything you’d need. even an outdoor area to star gaze and a garden and bbq etc outdoor dining.
- Clair (8/5): Very good - Host was really helpful, provided lots of useful info
- Christopher (10/5): Absolutely amazing would definitely recommend anyone staying in the flinders to stay at this property it’s a fantastic b - The Host Nigel went above and beyond what a fantastic guy with loads of knowledge about the area and beyond
- Debra (6/5): Very disappointing - Not much We did not stay at the property we had booked. We were sent a message on the morning of arrival to say we were ‘upgraded’. There was no reason given and we had booked the accommodation 6 months earlier!
Our new accommodation was not an upgrade.
