Guest Reviews
- David (9/5): Excellent family options - The homely feel, very welcoming and abundant of character Bedding and facilities, location was a medium walk from CBD
- CHINHSIU (Carol) (6/5): - Location is convenient. Haritage restoration in progress, as stated on the wall, many furniture is quite old, Spider web can be seen in the house.
- Scott (8/5): -
- James (10/5): Fantastic and would definately stay again - Excellent heritage property in great location. Loved the goodies on arrival and the essentials in the fridge. Didn't need to contact hosts as all was explained at the property but we could access them if we needed too but never did. They thought of everything to make our stay fantastic.
- Denise (10/5): Great cottage in Hobart - The accommodation was fantastic, very comfortable, we had everything we needed.
Location excellent, close to good restaurants. Excellent communication with Lisa. Everything went according to plan. I cannot think of anything we didn't like.
- William (9/5): -
- Simone (7/5): - Location. Plenty of room. Nice of house with character. There was a strong musty smell in the front bedrooms.
The beds upstairs were uncomfortable and poor quality.
The bathtub /shower leaked - it had a crack in the bottom and you could see the water pouring down the courtyard at the back of the house.
I understand it’s a very old house and that’s part of why we chose it, but these are simple updates that would not be that hard to correct.
- Claire (8/5): Suited a family of 5 for a short stay. - Position excellent. Yard area unkempt/weeds. Seating not comfortable. Bathroom a bit of a walk from bedrooms for anyone who gets up in the night.
- Adelino (10/5): -
- Andrew (9/5): Worked well for us - Everything No complaints
- Jiasong (10/5): - The owner well prepared everything for us. Also gave us very detailed instructions for self check in. This spacial, beautiful house made us fell at home. Very convenient location which closed to North Hobart center.
- Caroline (10/5): Quaint quirky cottage - Loved the beautiful quaint cottage with furniture to match its heritage. The whole layout was great. Central heating was wonderful.
Location to go anywhere was great. Have to be very cautious going in or out the drive, and back stairs felt a bit insecure for older guests.

- Aqua (9/5): A very comfortable and roomy house that is delightfully furnished. - House was roomy, well equipped and very comfortable. The vintage and antique items added to the charm. The welcome gift was a lovely surprise. It would have been useful to know the location of the lockbox as it took a while to find it. The website said electric blankets but they were only in one room.
- Demelza (10/5): Perfect place to stay in Hobart - The property was close to all amenities. Everything in the house made the stay a home away from home. We loved the history and the charm of the property making our holiday that extra special There was nothing we Di I’d not like
- Katy (7/5): Good -
- Yasmin (8/5): Very good -
- Deanne (10/5): The best house I've stayed in - The cottage is so adorable, and lots of space. One of the best places weve stayed. The location is great. Only a few mins from the city centre. I loved that they provided lots of little added additional touches like a welcome basket, fresh flowers on arrival, and a stocked pantry. The beds were really comfortable with lots of extra blankets. It was great having so many toys for the kids to play with and a BBQ was also very appreciated. The shower/bath and water pressure was amazing. I would book this cottage again in a heart beat. 9
- Allisa (10/5): Adorable cozy cottage - if your looking for a modern house with all the mod cons do not stay here if you’re looking for an adorable villa that wraps you in its cosy embrace and makes you feel like home then please stay at Eliza cottage. The owners have tried to keep true to the period with some amazing furniture and accessories, everything you need to make your stay comfortable is there. Including central heat. It is so convenient to all the shops at North Hobart literally a 2 min walk. A lovely welcome pack on arrival too. Nothing
- Anton (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lucas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Karen (10/5): Relaxed, snug, homely and great location. - Lovely homely stay. Beautiful furniture and snug in Winter. Great to be able to cook for a family too. Seemed that everything was thought of and provided for. We really appreciated the welcome gift on arrival.
- Michael (9/5): A wonderful few days soaking up Hobart - Beautiful and character filled Nothing
- Michelle (7/5): A lovely place to stay that has an excellent location to all services and attractions. Would be beneficial if couches an - Like a home away from home. Excellent location and pleased that there is a communal essential food items in the pantry. Fabulous arrival pack - the butter and eggs very much appreciated. Most seating was uncomfortable - couches or lounge chairs, and some beds uncomfortable, some beds extremely noisy and squeaky so they wake others if up in the middle of the night.
- Huong (10/5): Amazing experience at a heritage cottage! - Central location to many restaurants and cafes, and the city centre. Great experience of living in a heritage cottage. The collection of old paintings and the Queen style dining set makes me feel like living in the old time. There are lots of utensils if you want to cook while travelling. Entertainment is available for both kids and adults. Host is approachable if you need anything, but you would not need anything! There’s a basket of goodies for guests upon arrival, which is very generous and welcoming.
- Jacquie (6/5): Great location, lovely cottage - We loved the location a short walk to everything, loved old style decoration of the house The lounge area couch and chairs not very comfortable ,my husband and son who are tall could not get comfortable at all Beds and pillows not so comfortable either.
- Simon (8/5): Close to North Hobart shops and 20 min walk to city - Lots of room, quaint
- Katie (10/5): A gorgeous cottage, perfect location, generous and friendly host with great communication! - A stunning cottage in a fabulously convenient location. It was so beautifully outfitted, and made us feel immediately at home. The welcome basket was so generous and thoughtful, and Lisa’s communication was great. Nothing!
- Lastari (9/5): Superb -
- Kim (9/5): Superb - Very cosy, warm and comfortable. Great location. Lovely basket of food and wine. Great off street parking. Heater time needs adjusting, comes on at 5am, think its still on day light saving time?
- Patricia (8/5): It was a great decision to stay at Eliza cottage. - The location was great, short walk to the cafes in Elizabeth street. There was loads of room for the 4 of us, and the decor was very appropriate to the era of the house. There was always some new treasure to find.
Central heating was good.
The food items left for us were much appreciated.
It was also terrific to have access to a washing machine and clothes line after a week of travel.
- Jason (8/5): Great cosy house , felt homely , will stay again 👍 - Good , nice and close to abundance of restaurants ,great location Have understanding of house under ongoing renovation work ,Back stairs need attention, could become dangerous .
Otherwise great cosy place to stay 👍
- Anita (8/5): Nice intro to Hobart - Felt like a real home.Lots of antiques in this heritage cottage. Interesting art on walls. Great location in North Hobart close to pub and shops. Well appointed. Shame that the back yard hasn't been well maintained but didn't stop us enjoying a BBQ. Having to pay a non refundable deposit or a damage waiver...the first time I have ever had to do this. I was quoted 25 dollars for the waiver but charged 75. I am still waiting for this to be sorted.
