Guest Reviews
- fluminis (7/5): We liked the Stonewall homestead and would recomend. - Comfy and accommodating, lots of things for kids to do during wet weather . Water pressure and a working sensor light for arrival
- Janeka (10/5): We had that good of a stay we will be back again! - Loved every feature. Big rooms, to the big backyard. Kids and dog had plenty of space to play in! Toilet seat falls down for the boys. But apart from that everything was perfect!
- Carly (10/5): -
- Laura (10/5): Fantastic. Owners have thought of everything. Comfort for adults, entertainment for youngsters. - The comfort. The entertainment provided. The amount of space and location.
- Annette (10/5): A relaxing time in a gorgeous little home. - Clean, comfortable, close to all Moonta has to offer. Always a pleasure to stay, a true home away from home. Honestly can’t think of anything
- Sarah (10/5): Excellent location close to all necessities and tourist attractions. Cosy and homely and very clean with all the facilit - Clean, comfortable and perfect to settle in for a longer stay
- PAULINE (8/5): -
- Shay (10/5): Amazing, will be coming back - Really clean, homey, lots of room and up to date amenities It was great :)
- Leon (7/5): Suitable short family stay accommodation - The large comfortable well family room Shower pressure. Road noise. Having to supply linen
- Emma (9/5): The perfect getaway for a family or two, a comfortable retreat after a busy day at the beach! - The cottage is charmingly furnished and the modern rumpus/lounge room extension is a bonus large space that is perfect for kids and teens. Plenty of board games in the rumpus room plus a foosball table and a kid-size snooker table, big TV with Disney Plus, DVDs etc --- perfect for the kids after a long day at the waterslides. The rumpus room also includes a nice desk/study corner if any adults need to wfh (hopefully not!!) and plenty of lounges to lounge around on. Ample room to do things together (two lounge areas, outside patio area, big backyard, big kitchen/dining) or relax on your own. Great house for hide and seek with the kids (just watch out for the spooky life-size toddler doll!). Beds very comfortable and the room fans were great for keeping the rooms cool on warm nights. Short drive to the main street, SplashTown waterslides and bay. The kids didn't want to leave and said it was the perfect house, which they want to buy :D We had a bit of trouble with the key safe at check-in/check-out and had to enter the code multiple times before it opened. The coffee machine was not working during our visit (lights did not turn on when switched on at the powerpoint). We couldn't figure out how to work the DVD player in the rumpus room, but we had success with the DVD player in the smaller lounge room near the bedrooms.
Although not a critical requirement, and it might not be possible, it would be handy if there was a second toilet for when a large group is staying.

- Lisa (10/5): Moonta - Loved Stonewall cottage. So comfortable and clean. Plenty of space for our two dogs outside and close to town. Great value for money.
- Emily (10/5): We had a great time & would recommend Stonewall Cottage to anyone who wants to stay in Moonta area - Beautiful home, lots to keep us entertained and the cottage is very well looked after. We had a great time We loved everything. The bathroom door has no inner handle which is a bit awkward but it was fine!
- Nina (7/5): - The comfortable rooms, plenty of crockery, comfy ounces and historical artifacts. Great washing machine easy to use. Facilities overall were very good. The kitchen tap needs replacing, the kitchen cupboards cleaning out and reorganising to see what was in there, the shower taps were very hard to regulate.
- Jennifer (10/5): -
- Morey (10/5): -
- Sue (9/5): A wonderful short break - could have stayed longer. - The place was perfect for us as a couple wanting a break. Loved the size of a house and all the facilities and having a big back yard was great as we had a dog. Being a few metres from the bike trail was perfect as we brought our bikes to use on the trail. Bed was comfortable and the room was roomy. Bathroom clean, modern and spacious. Would love to return sometime with our family. Nothing wrong with the house. Only issues we had were getting the key box to open - had to press the buttons perfectly!! Also, didn’t check out all the cupboards and drawers first so only discovered toiletries and coffee pods after going to the shops and buying them 😏. Also discovered the tv in bedroom on the last day but none of this affected our enjoyment of the stay.
- Matt (9/5): - Very clean. Good location Happy with accommodation
- Shirley (10/5): - Everything Everything was great you couldn't ask for any better
- Jenny (6/5): We would choose somewhere different next time. - Spacious yard and games room. The website photos showed a light filled cottage which, in reality, was a very dark house. Interior blinds on all windows which cut out natural light. We needed lights on inside at all times.
The conglomeration of power boards and double adaptors was a bit disconcerting as a potential fire risk along with an exterior door that was jammed shut.
- Katy (9/5): Perfect for a family getaway. - Stonewall Cottage was perfect for our family’s short getaway. It was a great size and location and had many added extras to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The owners answered all our queries promptly and check in and out was a breeze.
- Alison (9/5): Cosy, comfortable, fun and memorable. - Such a wonderful surprise little stay. So cosy and and comfortable, with so many amazing touches. Our kids absolutely loved all the games and the backyard. Amazing hosts who went out of their way to accommodate us after we had some car drama on the way there.
- Sharon (8/5): Very good -
- James (10/5): Exceptional - Home from home
- Smith (10/5): Would stay again! - Quiet, comfortable, clean, spacious. We were a couple travelling and booked it because there was nothing else reasonably priced left, but we were happy we ended up there. Would be great for a family or a few couples.
- Allison (10/5): Great for families - Great facilities, clean and organised. Had everything and more we needed. Would definitely recommend.
- Graeme (7/5): Peaved off at the cost. I was in a situation I had to pay. That said I liked the place - It was rustic and comfortable.
- Annette (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Godau (9/5): Superb - We liked the location, the amenities were perfect. The cottage had everything our family of 6 needed. We loved the big family room. The kids loved asking google things. The cottage was clean and tidy, it had so much unique decor. We felt really comfortable here and can't wait to stay again. The only complaints we would have would be the occasional smell of dead mouse near the front 2 bedrooms and the main bedroom bed was very uncomfortable.
- Osborne (9/5): Superb - Very spacious cottage everything inside was clean and comfy outside was brilliant when we arrived there was bowl of water for our dog and so much room to explore 😀 Family room tv keep freezing up but regardless of that we still had a TV in t h e lounge room
- Sonia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Suellen (10/5): Perfect little getaway in a lovely cottage that had plenty of room with character and charm - Clean, spacious and great location. Everything was great!
- Stewarttina (10/5): Happy staying and will come back - We like the big family room, aircon and TV in almost every room, kitchen&dining, size of the property and old cottage decoration style. None. Overall is a very good holiday house!
- Stacey (10/5): Exceptional - The property was fantastic, and the kids loved it. Our son actually refused to leave. Love the family room 🤗🤗🤗🤗 Just the decking out the back had a few loose boards and some nails we're poking up.
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional - We got there too early as even though booking.com said our check in time was changed, it actually wasn't. Met Sharon and she was lovely and very understanding. The house was spotless when we arrived, and was much larger inside than it looks! Absolutely beautiful home and location. Spacious, secure yard for our dogs and everything you could want. Only the weather haha (it was 40°c for 2 of the days we were there) but can't fault the house one bit.
- Grant (9/5): Superb -
- Katrina (9/5): Superb -
- Jill (8/5): Very good -
- Marg (8/5): The weather was good as the activities we went for were outdoor interests - The location suited us very well. It was close to the activities we went there for.
The property was clean and tidy and contained every thing that a reasonable person would expect. It is more of a family destination than a honeymoon option. The property delivered what we expected.
Therefore it is impossible to comment on this question.
- Russell (8/5): Very good -
- Noelene (10/5): Charming country stone cottage, obviously well loved and carefully looked after. - We absolutely loved everything. Lovely house and well appointed. The location, facilities and value for money are the standouts. This was a quick trip to visit family in town. We would happily stay again anytime, and for a longer period, just to make use of the family room and games area. Not a single thing. The sticky side gate was a challenge but manageable.
- Burdon (9/5): Superb - Size of house Loose floor boards out back
- Karen (9/5): Superb -
- Jing (9/5): Superb -
- S (10/5): Exceptional - Our stay was so comfortable, everything has been so well laid out and thought through. From the bed being so comfortable I wanted to take it home, to the coasters on the table.
The history is everywhere throughout the home, the owners should be so proud of themselves as it's truly been renovated to perfection.
Thankyou so much for such an enjoyable stay. 5 stars all the way, we will be back again :) Leaving!
- Shirley (10/5): Exceptional - Facilities were great Could have been a bit cleaner
- Guy (10/5): Stone wall moonta - Great size house and yard, great choice of appliances, great family areas with plenty choice for entertainment and with plenty of TVs and air conditioning systems for heating comfy beds and seating. Low door frames as we had to duck we 6ft plus. Doors in bedrooms don't open properly as they get stuck as floor or door is warped, the blinds in the family areas don't go back down once put up
- Jethro (10/5): Exceptional - It felt very homely. It had everything we needed and more.Great value for money, very accommodating We liked everything
- Jarrad (10/5): Easy, fun, clean, quiet, family bonding time. No having to think it's all done. - Location is great right near the intersection wallaroo, kadina or put 1 min down the road an your in moonta.😃 I rode my scooter to kadina 🤣🤣.
Inside clean with everything you need plus so many games, movie, TV's all connected to the internet blew me away. Did not hear I'm board 1 time 🤣🤣🤣 that's a great working family holiday. Thank you very much Leaving 😪 I wanted to stay 🤣🤣

- Tara (8/5): Perfect for families and groups of mixed ages - Stonewall is a great choice for families, with lots of living spaces, and heaps of entertainment options. Adults did a puzzle in the large family room while watching the tennis while kids watched a movie in the second lounge. So relaxing!
- Louise (7/5): Great stay in beautiful location and lovely historical home. - The large games room was great for older kids, fantastic location, easy check in, everything we needed was there, historical home and large back yard. A lot of extras items, felt a bit like someone’s home. In the backyard, bees and fear of snakes on extreme condition days, was a bit concerning with our dog. The extra foods and condiments were great, but please check use by dates.
