Kiara (5/5): Nice property, but lack of hot water and poor handling of the issue made the stay disappointing. - Property was easy to get to with a nice and quiet location. It was also very clean and tidy when we arrived and had many spare clean towels and blankets. We also really enjoyed the fireplace in the living room and heaters in the rooms (as we were worried it was going to be cold at night). Our stay was let down by the fact that we had limited hot water. We weren’t told in advance that the hot water system could run out, and as people from out of the region, we had no reason to expect this would be an issue. We discovered it late in the second evening and messaged the hosts straight away, but it was outside their contact hours. They later said they couldn’t do anything because we didn’t report it during the day — which felt unfair. We did report it as soon as we knew, and there was nothing we could have done to change the situation ourselves. Hot water is a basic necessity, and not having it had a real impact on our comfort. We were offered a discount on a future stay, but no refund or compensation for this one. For the price paid, I expected better. I wouldn’t stay again unless communication and basic amenities are handled more reliably.
