Guest Reviews
- agnes nancy (10/5): It was a great location, comfortable home for our short stay. - A beautiful well kept cottage. Nothing
- Neil and Catharina (9/5): A cosy, well-equipped home in a great location, secure parking and a pet-friendly. - Arden on McLachlan is a real gem and made for a very comfortable and relaxing stay. It’s easy to find and conveniently located just a short distance from the Orange CBD, so you get the best of both worlds. Close to everything you need, yet tucked away in a quiet, lovely area.
The house itself is warm and cosy, with a welcoming feel from the moment you walk in. Everything has been thoughtfully set up, and it’s clear a lot of care has gone into making it a home away from home. The kitchen and bathrooms are very well equipped, which made our stay easy and stress-free. Nothing was lacking.
One of the standout features for us was the garage. Travelling with our vintage car, it was a huge bonus to have it safely stored off the street and out of the elements. That alone made a big difference.
The enclosed yard is another highlight, especially for those travelling with pets. It’s secure and spacious, giving peace of mind and allowing everyone, two-legged and four-legged, to relax and enjoy the stay.
All in all, Arden on McLachlan offers comfort, convenience, and thoughtful touches that make it a place you’d happily return to. Highly recommended.
- Mitch (7/5): House was comfortable for one night stay - House was difficult to find arriving after dark - lighting / more prominent house number would be usefl
- Alison (10/5): Wedding in Orange - we.. as a family of four adults.. had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable.. location was excellent.. the extras were welcome even if we didn't use them.. plenty towels etc.. shampoos.. a few staples in the larder..
comms with Alex were excellent.. I cannot think of one single thing that we did not like..
- Helen (9/5): A short and sweet stay in Orange, close by to everything we needed - Space for a family of 6 We had some emergency issues but they were dealt with swiftly by Alex and rectified. A great host.
- Susan (8/5): Friends Weekend Stay in Orange - We liked the size of the property, particularly the bedrooms. The configuration of the bedding suited us perfectly.
The little decking out the back caught the morning sun beautifully.
Even though we didn't use it, the lock up garage was a bonus.
The property was clean and suited our stay in Orange.
Thanks to our host. The airconditioning was great, but it did take me a while to use it properly.

- Dorothy (9/5): We enjoyed our stay in Orange, beautiful old restored homes and gardens, we will probably visit again. - Very comfortable and homely. Nice quiet back deck. Well stocked kitchen. Garage for the car. Bathroom was outstanding. Probably the only thing was the bed was too high for me to get onto/into - I know I am on the short side, but ….. Also weather was quite warm - nice but way too warm for a heavy doona. No blanket so improvised with just the doona cover.
- Cara (10/5): Comfy, cosy and excellent! - Incredibly comfy and cosy old style house, close to everything with all the amenities we (three adults) could’ve needed. The beds were great, the bathroom is massive and the recommendations on the kitchen wall were a fun touch we appreciated! Highly recommend.

- Hanny (8/5): Very good - I liked the space and comfort,
and close proximity to the shops. The overuse of Glen20, it was so strong and overpowering.
Could I recommend good quality scented reeds?
The other thing that surprised me was that the pillow slips weren't ironed, and this made them not seem fresh (I'm sure they were) the beds were very comfortable, other than that I would recommend this lovely home to my friends.
😊

- Rosemarie (9/5): Weekend away in Orange - Lovely homely feel to this property, the bedrooms were a good size with ample cupboard space lots of shelves and bedside tables also chest of drawers all the beds were very comfortable as were the pillows, plenty of spare bedding fans in 2 bedrooms but didn't really need it in the 3rd bedroom as it was cool enough during the night good linen on the beds, nice dining room with large table and chairs, ample sized kitchen with everything you need for your stay, plenty of comfortable seating in the lounge room, the bathroom is large with a spa bath also separate shower which has good pressure and a good shower head nice vanity and decorated in heritage tiles and colours, the washing machine and laundry sink are also in the bathroom but it is such a large room that it doesn't impact on the bathroom, covered outdoor area which has a b.b.q nice timber deck 8 seater setting double garage and nice small backyard, this property is well maintained and clean inside and out, I would definitely stay here again and recommend it As far as I can say the only things I didn't like were the beds were a little squeaky in bedrooms 1 and 2 and the coffee really needs replacing as it was rock hard

- Donna (10/5): Relaxing, comfortable, a good recharge after a busy school term. - Comfortable, clean, bed was very comfortable, I loved the period feel, it felt homelike. I liked the board with suggestions of places to go. I loved the outdoor deck to relax. Coffee shop just up the road was great. Nothing I didn’t like, everything was great, but I had to watch my dog who wanted to eat the pebbles in the yard 😂. Hence not allowed outside except under strict supervision.

- Sheena (9/5): We had a cosy, comfortable stay in this lovely house. - The house was well appointed and spotlessly clean, with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The location was excellent, in an area of heritage homes and only a short walk to shops and restaurants. Clear instructions given for using the heating, much appreciated as we had cold winter weather for our stay! We would happily return to this lovely house.
- Kay (9/5): A very enjoyable 3 night stay in charming Arden. A perfect place from which to explore Orange. - Arden on McLachlan is a charming period cottage in one of the older parts of Orange. It's comfortable, spacious and was very clean. The kitchen is very well stocked with cooking implements and the central heating works beautifully on a cold and wintry night. There's a terrific cafe just up the road that does really good coffee and cakes (Bill's) and it's an enjoyable 15 minute walk to the centre of Orange with it's great range of cafes, restaurants and boutiques etc.
- Pierre (9/5): Superb -
- Susan (9/5): Great house in the centre of Orange - This was a dog friendly property & the reason why we booked it. Plus plenty of space at the back for our French bulldog. The kitchen was fully equipped & very large bathroom!! Excellent location close to 2 cafes. There was nothing to dislike about this property!!

The owner was lovely, and very responsive when we had questions. The lighting in the kitchen is poor; wherever you stand to work, the light is behind you. No other issues.
