• Evgenia (7/5): - The cabin was warm and inviting with a nice interior and welcoming hosts. The kitchen is quite well equipped, was pleasantly surprised to find a blender, was great to enjoy smoothies with local fruits. The tv with streaming platforms was a great bonus for family movie nights. A few things to keep in mind for scent-sensitive guests: the dish soap, bathroom amenities and bed linens were very fragranced. The sofa bed wasn’t comfortable, the main bed was fine. Some areas could use extra cleaning but overall the space had a cozy and homey feel

Our hosts Ralph & Rocky were delightful, very helpful & informative about local places, activities & events. The self-contained cottage was comfortable & clean with absolutely everything we wanted & needed. The only thing that could have been better was the WIFI. Signal was weak, fluctuating, and sometimes dropped out entirely. This could be important for some people as cellular coverage on most of the island is poor to non-existent.
• roderick (7/5): cozy island stay! - We really like the fact it has a woodstove and streaming services and allowed pets. It was also close to some beach access, too! Also that we could smoke outside safely away from house but still on property. The hosts were both polite and helpful also gave this amazing map , to us that they made it , made the island really easy to navigate. ASK FOR A MAP! its awesome it was a tad close to hosts house but they gave us privacy!!! and if you have a dog beware there might be other dogs on property but otherwise was great!

• Coreen (10/5): Just what our family needed to slow down and disconnect from the busy world! - Rocky and Ralph met us as we drove in, welcomed us to the cottage, explained a few things, gave us a map and highlighted all the must see places. It was absolutely fantastic. Such a relaxing, laid back, minimalistic little island with a few amenities so you have everything you need!

Ralph and Rocky were incredibly welcoming, providing recommendations for nearby hiking trails, where to watch for whales, see the sunset or where to eat. If you're looking for a tranquil retreat away from the hustle and bustle, this cottage stay is the ideal escape. Internet was spotty but we found that was common throughout the island not just on their property.

• Michelle (10/5): Great stay! - This cottage is cozy, quiet and well maintained. Tucked away on the island and close to beach access. It has a well equipped kitchen and we made all our meals there. Ralph and Rocky are very friendly and full of local knowledge, we followed the itinerary recommended to us and it was perfect. Nothing.

The hosts are gracious with great communication and an earnest desire to help guests become oriented so that they can have the best experience on Galiano Island. The internet, as other reviewers have noted, is very weak in the cabin, I suspect that the router is in main house and the signal doesn't quite reach the cabin. If you need internet access, go to town or lean towards the main house from the patio.

• Sara (5/5): Great owners and good location - Lovely owners and very quiet location They have had a water leak in the past as well as being a very damp climate it was quite musty, a dehumidifier treatment would be really great for the cabin. I had to wash all of my cloths after my stay as they smelt musty after just 4 nights. The bed is also very uncomfortable. I feel bad being honest because the owners were such kind people.

He shared with us the islands highlights and was very useful in helping us plan and make the best of our visit. The cottage was very comfortable and had all the items we needed during for our stay. I wish there were some basic provisions, coffee beans, maybe something to snack on for our first breakfast would have been nice.

Perfect place to relax and enjoy quiet nature. - Hosts went out of the way to ensure our stay is pleasant; drove us to shop for groceries as we weren’t well prepared - totally saved the day :) Wood burning fireplace was a bonus that kept us toasty warm through the chilly early spring nights . The mattress of both bed and sofa didn’t give enough support - firmness not to our liking; but maybe others would appreciate :)

We didn’t know it at first but I actually had met their son a few years before and they lived next door. I actually cannot complain about any short comings. It was cute and rustic but it had everything that we needed.

Also loved we could bring our dog along with us on our family vacation :-) Would be nice to have screens on bedroom and living room windows just to keep the bugs out.
• Diane (9/5): Superb - We had an excellent stay at Sticks and Stones Cottage. It is a lovely spot with friendly, helpful hosts, and very comfortable facilities. The hide-a-bed had an additional foam mattress which made it quite comfortable. The Wi-Fi dropped rather easily, which was also easily reconnected, and we weren't wanting to spend a great deal of time online anyway while on vacation. The goal is to get away from everyday routines and pressures. And Sticks 'N Stones delivered in spades.

They provided is with a very professional map they had made themselves and gave us a rundown on places to visit on the island during our stay. The outlet in the bathroom didn't work, but that was a minor inconvenience.

• Alf (7/5): Nice place for a quiet get-away - A very pleasant, cozy and somewhat rustic cottage. Owners were not on-site but communication with them was easy. They were very cooperative in terms of a refund for one night which we had to cancel due to personal reasons. We were ok with chopping wood for the stove but some guests may find this difficult. Wood-burning stove was nice but it made to cottage very hot. Electric baseboard heaters were not adequate to keep the cottage warm on their own. No fire extinguisher in the cottage. Cell coverage was almost non-existent and on-site wi-fi was weak.

• Travnx3 (10/5): A relaxing stay in a wonderful cottage close to beaches & Montague Provincial Park on Galiano - We had a relaxing stay in this charming, private cottage. On arrival we were met by the lovely owners Ralph & Rocky who provided us with a map & lots of good info about places to see, things to do, and where to eat on Galiano Island; we had a great time following many of their suggestions. We spent many hours enjoying Montague Provincial Park & beach, Bellhouse Park and Morning Beach. It was also pleasant to just sit outside on the cottage patio chairs and read.
• Derek (10/5): excellent stay on amazing galiano - would highly recommend! - Sticks and stones was comfortable and charming. The cottage was well equipped, a 5 minute walk to beautiful shore line, and Ralph and Rocky were helpful. Galiano is amazing - such great hikes, quiet but also with interesting food and culture. wifi didn’t really work and there’s very little call reception

So many wonderful hikes on Galiano makes it an island worth exploring. Would have liked a bigger bed (I think it was a double) and wifi is a bit spotty.
