- Amy (10/5): Enjoyed it! - Clos to town centre Adjoining property
- Ross (8/5): Lovely host. Good property. Convenient position. -
- Lauren (10/5): Great, does the job - Good size and accomodation for 1-2 nights. Good hosts, clean, easy to access. No issues. The bed is really uncomfortable
- Susan (10/5): Cosy, cute, clean, and oh so comfortable. - We’ve stayed here before and really enjoyed it but it’s been up graded and it’s even better. New bed. New chairs. Kitchenette so workable now. TV relocated. It’s perfect. So clean. Loved the new outdoor seating area and being welcomed back after our evening out with the globe lights Nothing
- Stan (10/5): -
- Yulanda (10/5): Comfortable and quiet stay. - Property was in a quiet residential street close to shops and restaurants. Slow drip in kitchen sink. Tap stiff to turn and couldn't turn further to stop the drip.
- Kim (10/5): -
- Jenny (10/5): A comfortable home away from home close to everything. - Loved Kyneton. The BnB was in a great location close to a pleasant walk which we enjoyed.
- Laura (9/5): Perfect stay for all intents & purposes. 100% recommend *** - it was clean & private, love the side entrance with the gate, everything was clearly stated, bathroom, nice & clean, comfy bed, host was available, easy to contact, but not intrusive. Would 100% recommend & I'd def stay again. Host offered early arrival, didn't get to use that option but very glad that it was offered There was a slight cat odour when we first walked in... I stopped noticing it about 30 min after arrival, and opened some windows... but I do have a very sensitive nose/smell & it didn't upset my stay at all

- Elizabeth (5/5): The property would suit others but not us. - The property was clean and warm with a comfortable bed. For two people we found it cramped and not enjoyable. Sofa? terrace? patio? could not be found.
- Jan (5/5): Would not book again - Shabby interior, poor insulation. Very noisy people in the main house.
- Susan (10/5): We enjoyed a lovely overnight stay. The accommodation was so close to the rive walk which can be taken into town - Great location. Really cute set up. Nothing.
- Anthony (8/5): -
- Liz (8/5): -
- Loretta (9/5): Comfortable and cosy with everything we needed for a short stay… great night’s sleep which is exactly what you need when - Bed was fantastic, great to have somewhere to put suitcases and hang clothing.
- Rob (8/5): -
- Booth (7/5): Good -
- Randall (9/5): Great place for a short stay. - A really great little unit, which met all our needs. Well done. Could do with one extra simple chair inside.
- Sally (8/5): Thank you Kirsten. It was a nice stay and one we shall use again. - A neat and clean unit in a good location close to Piper Street with its lovely shops and restaurants but far enough away to be quiet. Very comfy bed and bedding and had all we needed. Position of bed made tv very hard to see. Some shampoo would have been a good addition to the shower.
- Clooney (9/5): Superb -
- Graeme (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fiona (9/5): Cosy accommodation. Great area - Enjoyed our stay in the shack out the back. Extremely clean with great heating , good shower and very comfortable bed. Close to the walking track and a lovely walk along Piper street into town. Quiet area.
Kristen communicated before we arrived to let us know about keys and provided a map. The wifi was a bit slow but that wasn’t a problem.
- Frank (5/5): Passable - Overpriced
- Peta (9/5): Superb - Cosy and clean. We couldn't watch TV in bed. No big deal though, there are lovely armchairs you can swing around if you need to watch something.
- King (8/5): Great little shack - The Shack is a lot better than the photos online. Very clean, very aesthetic. Bed is super comfy! Our host Kristen was lovely It's a long walk to town & the pubs on Mollison during the colder months.
- Barbara (5/5): Passable - Too cramped
- Belinda (10/5): Very relaxing and comfortable - Close to restaurants and beautiful river walk.Host super helpful
- Diana (10/5): Exceptional - Close to town and very clean
- Damien (10/5): Very comfortable - It’s all I need Nothing.
- Greg (4/5): Very average - The basic offerings such as a biscuit, hair shampoo not present Over priced for what it is
- Sharyn (7/5): Cosy, a comfy bed and not far from town. - Very comfortable, cosy & quiet. We liked the little nice touches, on arrival, there was a pod coffee machine with pods, body wash and even face wipes in the bathroom. Grateful for Kirsten to let us in when we locked ourselves out early morning! A little small to move around for 2 people but we weren't there much so was manageable.
- Rosemary (10/5): What a wonderful stay -
- Damien (10/5): When you’re looking for somewhere to set as a home base while you explore, this is it! - Was close to town and the room is all I needed, clean, comfy, practical and very well presented. No room service!! No it was lovely and so close to town didn’t matter!!
- Greg (9/5): Superb - Location comfortable all we needed Nothing
- Karen (8/5): Very good -

- Heather (8/5): Great location and very comfortable stay -
- Natasha (8/5): Very good -
- Andrew (7/5): Good -
- Tiana (10/5): A cute little home with everything we needed. Quiet area, close to local cafes. Clean amenities. Easy check-in and check - The bathroom was clean and a perfect size. Nespresso coffee machine and pods available was a nice detail. Room had nice natural light but was shaded enough to stay cool in 30degree heat. Very quiet neighbourhood which was a bonus. Aircon was quite loud and only one setting, but we barely used it so it didn’t affect us at all. Windows open overnight was perfect.
- Suzanne (10/5): Comfortable and compact country stay. - This property is finished to a very high standard of comfort. The host is accessible and responsive. Kyneton is a very spread out small town with unreliable rideshare, no taxis and limited bus services. As we were travelling by train, during a heatwave and then heavy rainfall, we were somewhat challenged in our ability to get around. Our host did however, offer advice and suggestions l
- Iman (10/5): Clean, cosy, well priced and great host. - The property was clean, tidy, had everything we needed. Kirsten was very communicative and checked in on us to see if we needed anything. She was a great host!
- Melbgirl (8/5): Good spot for overnight stay - Well functioning air conditioner for cooling.
Does have WiFi, although that's not mentioned in the listing.
Kitchenette has more appliances then included on the listing. Also has toaster, portable hot plate and pot, electric wok.
If attending a horse race meeting, is an easy 10 minute walk from the race track. Could do with some more cutlery, especially forks and spoons.
On street parking.
- Roslyn (9/5): Superb - Everything. Perfect for us. When the rain started, there was a musty smell on opening the entrance door.trivial!
- Katrina (10/5): Exceptional - Cleanest bathroom I’ve ever seen in short stay accomodation.
- Grujic (10/5): Comfortable and clean with all necessary amenities - The host has provided everything that is needed for a short stay. The property clean, the beds comfortable, thick towels, good fridge and although we didn’t cook anything there were adequate dishes provided. The tv was a smart one with good reception. The room was well lit with plenty of sunshine and although it was an extremely hot night Kyneton cooled down quickly allowing us to have a wonderful sleep as the location was quiet. Next time , we will stay more nights and take the opportunity to have a walk along the river before breakfast. Thank you Kirsten for all your efforts to make our stay exceptionally good.😊
- Fiona (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shawn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brett (10/5): Exceptional -

- Thomas (10/5): Super comfortable quiet place to stay within walking distance of everything. - Perfect location within walking distance of Piper Street restaurants/bars. Good heating and plenty of hot water in the bathroom. Helpful host who knew all the good places to go. Nothing to dislike.
- Kim (9/5): Lovely place - Everything you need. Clean, comfortable bed, excellent heating and great shower. If I had more money, I would have stayed longer. Will definitely stay there again. Lovely spot near the river. There was even a hot plate for cooking. I could not turn the coffee pod machine on (or maybe I just couldn't figure out how to work it)
- Georgina (9/5): Lovely spot with helpful owner. Great value for money - Best pillows, lovely linen and towels. Nice hot shower. Only there briefly for one night
- Jennifer (9/5): A lovely place for a quick getaway. - Good location. Lovely to stroll along the river which is a couple of minutes from the property. Easy walk up to lovely Piper Street. Kirsten is a very thoughtful host, and keen to make your stay enjoyable. Nothing.
- Graeme (9/5): a very pleasant stay for the three nights we were there. - Excellent location. close to Piper St restaurants. very comfortable bed. Very small bedside table only place where breakfast cutlery crockery could be put
- Cinzia (8/5): Very good -
- Glenn (9/5): Great - Had everything we needed Was all good
- Wendy (9/5): Very enjoyable for the one or two nights. Warm and comfortable with everything that we would want. - Location was excellent as we spent most of our time in the historical Piper Street around the corner. Easy drive to the centre of town also. Electrical plugs in Kitchenette. Many appliances were on the one board and when we boiled the kettle, it turned off before it was hot enough.
- Geraldine (8/5): Very good - We stayed for just 1night we really like the place clean and comfortable very cozy the host shes really nice 😊
There is electric blanket as well.
- Kathryn (9/5): Superb - Easygoing, warm and light A snug fit, but perfect for one night.
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Val (9/5): Superb - Location and coziness Nothing

- Peter (8/5): Very good -
- Lillylein (8/5): A lovely shack with very clean amenities in a great and quiet location! - Breakfast was not included so we made our own.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Exceptional -
- Melissa (9/5): Superb - Comfortable stay with all the amenities needed for a weekend away. Close walk to Piper st but still far enough to be quiet and relaxing. Loved waking up to the sound of birds in the garden :)
Kirsten checked in and provided useful details for parking / finding the property. Initially thought the microwave and kettle weren't working but it was an issue with the powerboard. Bit hard to have meals at small table but also acknowledge that it's not easy to fit furniture into a small space.
- Linh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michael (8/5): Accommodation suitable for a short 1-2 day stay, very handy to local town centre in Macedon Ranges. - Location within one block of main street, quiet neighborhood. Fine for overnight stays Apartment air conditioner was a little noisy, kitchen area a bit cramped as was the 'passageway' between living area and bathroom.
- Naree (10/5): Exceptional - Delightful stay, briefly met our landlady who was checking everything was too our liking - highly recommend for a travelling couple 😍
- Narelle (8/5): Comfortable and met my needs - Comfortable bed and great quality linen and towels I wasnt expecting parking on the street
- Mark (9/5): Comfortable and convenient with a friendly host - I was very comfortable in my 3 day stay in The Shack. Very clean room with modern facilities. It was very conveniently located, particularly to the beautiful riverside walk and Piper Street cafes. Kirsten was a lovely host and made a point of checking to see that everything was fine. Would definitely stay again. Nothing
- Greg (9/5): Superb -
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kathryn (8/5): Compact and comfortable - Overall comfortable. Bed comfortable. Good amenities. Nice bathroom products provided. Good lighting up the pathway at night. Although no instructions for aircon that I could see, I worked it out and it was very effective. I accidentally locked the window closed. A key for the lock would have been handy. No smoke alarm that I could see.
- Noel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tanya (10/5): Exceptional - Very clean. Bed was extremely comfortable.
- Coral (10/5): Lovely time - Great location
Kristen had thought of everything one would need for a comfortable holiday Nothing
- Hulsing (8/5): Very comfortable. - Breakfast not supplied; however, snacks, tea and coffee, etc were.
The owner was extremely friendly and helpful.
Location and privacy perfect for my needs.
The bed was amazing. Would have liked an ironing board and iron, but perhaps this would have been supplied if requested.
- Brian (9/5): Superb -
- Travis (8/5): Go on. Stay at the Shack Out The Back. - Location (as you can see via maps) is a little out of town - bit of walk if no car - but otherwise good. Close to the river/nature etc. Keys were exactly where described and accomodation was easy to access. Air-con was very effective and the Shack Out the Back is cozy. It was clean and comfortable with a small kitchenette complete with cork opener 😉 and fridge as well as a small area to sit and relax. Bathroom was clean. Think bungalo. Not much to dislike other than a walk from the train station on a hot day if that's your situation.
