Guest Reviews
- Connie (7/5): - Clean and very well equipped.
- Elisabeth (10/5): - Had great facilities microwave, fridge, stove & washing machine. Whole home 2 bedrooms lounge dining & kitchen. Separate toilet & bathroom. 4 cute rabbits in backyard that were delightful. Nothing
- Melanie (10/5): - It felt like a home away from home. Alot of pride was taken in presenting the home and we were extremely happy with everything. Owner went above and beyond with all the extras provided. Everything was absolutely perfect.
- Georgina (10/5): -
- Kaye (10/5): -
- neville (9/5): good value for money - large rooms and presented nicely nothing
- Cathy (7/5): Good value accomodation a little too far from town. - The cottage has plenty of room and is in a quiet location. The kitchen was well stocked (except for pepper and salt). There were extra bathroom sachets for make up removal. And there was a laundry with washing machine supplies (though no dryer) There were cracked windows on one side of the house....making me wary of the safety of the surroundings. We did not get access till after 3.30. It was not walking distance to town.
- Toni (9/5): Would stay again - The cottage was well located and well serviced.
Heating was efficient and the host extremely helpful. Cute rabbits!
- KOICHI (8/5): -
- Michael (9/5): Was impressed by the size and space of the place, and all the extras that made it a comfortable stay - The location was fine. A little bit away from the village, but only a couple of minutes by car. Opposite a football field, with plenty of wildlife to keep you entertained. Was very impressed by the size and space of the cottage. Two large bedrooms, lounge, kitchen, laundry and dining area. Lots of extras, teas, coffees, washing machine, and a carport. Good heating etc. Everything was fine.
- Clare (8/5): Value for money for space and laundry - The space is great. Access to a washing machine was worth it. 20 minute walk to IGA and town. Furnishings were tired. We purposely chose not to sit on one chair for fear of breakage. The kitchen was tidy but not spotless.
- Chris (1/5): Run down , uncomfortable, dirty, ants in kitchen and main bedroom water running all the time in toilet and water dripping - Nothing about the property Disgusting in need of urgent repair
- Mathew (5/5): - The house according to older reviews has been under renovation for several years. The front screen door cannot be opened from the inside due to a broken handle and the window in the master bedroom is cracked and requires a block of wood to remain open. Besides the renovated bathroom the property is very worn, tired but clean. The owner was prompt in replying to any concerns.
- Paul and Sarah (1/5): An experience to forget - Adequate space Read plenty of reviews the place is in a very sad state. Worse when we advised the host that the washing machine had failed she accused us of overloading which was completely untrue. When we mentioned we were disappointed with the state of the place she demanded we leave within 1 hour. You dont need that sort of stress in a place like strahan where accommodation is sold out most nights
- Dave (9/5): - Room for a trailer
Nice cottage
Close to the golf club
- Michelle (8/5): The place was clean and had everything you’d need - including laundry facilities. - The property had everything you’d need. The place was clean.
- Tania (6/5): Clean inside, good proximity - Close to every thing around Strahan
It was clean inside The cottage is in poor condition. Front screen door and some windows couldn’t be opened. The lino floor coverings were falling apart. Old and rusty laundry tub. Toilet was hard to flush.
Main entry at back was very dirty and wasnt a pleasant welcome
- Steve Riseley (10/5): - Very good accommodation recommended to all.
Thank you
- ingrid (9/5): - Prettige huis in rustige wijk. Centrum beloopbaar In de vroege ochtend (vóör 6 uur) werd er geklust? In de achtertuin. Gaf wat lawaaioverlast.
- Corey (5/5): - Private and quiet The smell of oldness . Yes it's an old cottage getting a little update outside but does need a bit more inside based on price, compared to other places stayed.
Early checkout earlier than usual, host waiting in car with laundry basket in back yard with towels etc when only 9am.
- Sandy (8/5): - Location was great, lots of room in the cottage.
- Claudio (8/5): -
- Maureen (10/5): Really handy stay mid way on our trip. Felt totally comfortable and able to spread out. - Spacious cottage with great amenities including full laundry with a big washing machine. Heater on when we arrived. Clean and nice toiletries supplied.
- Paul S (9/5): Rustic, cosy cabin close to Strahan waterfrontn - Lots of room, a short drive to harbour. Had everything needed for independent, self-catering travel. Rabbits in back yard were cute. No real problems. The place is a bit old and could do with some renovating, but everything works.
- Pamela (10/5): Fabulous for a self catering stay in Strahan. - The cottage is a 2 bedroom house. Very spacious and very well appointed. A proper kitchen with all the implements, crockery and bench space you needed and the bedrooms & bathroom were spacious and well appointed & the beds were very comfortable. Place was very quiet & peaceful. TV and Internet worked well. Loved having rabbits on the lawn and looking out across the parkland. House was very light and heating worked very well. Margo, the owner was very easy to contact and deal with. Nice to have undercover parking. It was only a few minutes drive from town but is not quick walking distance, being a few kms out from town centre, the pub and the boat cruise. But that is my only negative comment. The place was convenient, great value and very comfortable.
- John (7/5): - The accommodation was comfortable and spacious and had everything we needed. The manager was great to deal with. The property is older but adequate for our needs.
- Zdenka Rosecky (9/5): -
- Malcolm (10/5): This two bedroom cottage is a real home away from home, suitable for families. - This Cottage is just located a short way from the boat harbor and main shops. The facilities at this Cottage I would rate 150%, It has every thing that you could wish for and expect, from freshly ground coffee waiting, to a Pizza rotary cutting tool plus every kind of kitchen utensils you could imagine. We had a very enjoyable stay. ?? Nothing to dislike.

- Wui Yen (9/5): -
- Gray (8/5): - Used as a base for our Gordon River cruise. Great shower
2 bedrooms. Nice porch. Full kitchen. Worst pillows ever!
- Frans (8/5): Zeer geschikt als uitvalsbasis voor Strahan - Beetje gedateerd, maar zeer compleet en functioneel. Ruime zelfstandige woning. We hebben er met veel plezier twee dagen doorgebracht Geen klachten

Unkempt garden
- Janice (10/5): - A spacious, clean home with everything you need for your stay
- Maria (8/5): - Location was lovely and quiet. Large space, nice kitchen and facilities. Good off street parking. Enjoyed our stay. A little cool inside the house as heat only in living room and the toilet has permanent open windows with no screen. Freezing in there. Please put in a window with screens!
- Judy (7/5): - Spotlessly clean. Well equipped kitchen. Uncomfortable bed.
- Scales (1/5): Dissapointing - Very little Every thing
- Shane (7/5): -
- graham (6/5): - Cottage was clean Outside light not working. No heating in bedroom. Too much focus on check in and check out. Have never been told check out is 0930 .Have never been told check in needs to be after 3pm
- Lui Chew Wah (7/5): - The chalet was spacious and clean. The utensils in the kitchen were ample and there as a large trash bin for all the waste. The toilet is some distance from the bathroom.
- Claire (10/5): -
- Vickers (7/5): -
- Lynne (8/5): -
- Caldow (10/5): - Easy check in. Clean, spacious, tidy. Owner was responsive. Will come back if ever in Strahan.
- Stewart (10/5): -
- Bob (7/5): -
- Sally (7/5): Cottage holds all the essentials and provides fora comfortable stay. - The cottage was roomy with plenty of space to spread out. Lots of little extras which were helpful - tea, coffee, cling wrap, soap. Some sections like the eves were quite dirty/mouldy. The yard was very unkept and is not suitable to walk around. Wasn’t really in nice walking distance to anything. Quite old and dated - needs some upgrades. Bed wasn’t overly comfortable - a little harder than I prefer.
- AseanNomad (10/5): Spacious, warm and clean. A must stay - Very spacious place in a quiet street. Well equipped kitchen. Easy to check in Nothing to dislike
- Joy (9/5): -
- Debra (10/5): Lovely cottage quiet location convenient to everything - Comfy roomy cottage
- Hanan (10/5): - - When it comes to cleanliness, I learned to lower my expectations in Australia, but this cottage was spotless to the point I felt I was home.
- Communication with Margo was easy and clear instructions were given to check-in
- The heater was open before we came in..
- Very spacious and cosy cottage.
- Comfortable beds.
- Stocked with all essentials.
- Rabbits and birds hopping and singing around the house.
- Michele (7/5): Comfortable and clean. - Clean Unexpected problem meant we had to change cottages in between 2 nights stay. I night in each cottage. Not ideal for Seniors.
- Jane (9/5): Good - Nice and comfy
- Ellen (7/5): Good -
- Peter (7/5): Quiet clean and comfortable - Further from Strahan than I expected
- Donna (3/5): Would not stay here again. - Space in the cottage was adequate Needs repainting on the outside. Veranda furniture was rusty - needs replacement. There was mould on the veranda ceiling. Check out time was 9.30AM. Odd smell in the cottage.
- Stacy (10/5): Large comfortable cottage - Well appointed, comfortable cottage. Heaps of room, comfy beds. Quiet area, bit of a walk to the esplanade but doable
- Cliff (9/5): Superb - Some of the surrounds need to be tidied up
- Annette (8/5): Very comfortable, spacious place for our 2 night stay in Strahan - Very spacious cottage, with a full size kitchen, laundry facilities, big living room; very quiet spot, conveniently a short drive to the wharf for the Gordon River cruise; cute bunnies in the back yard
- David (10/5): Strahan fantastic town - It was a large 2 bedroom cottage with all facilities plus a washing machine. All information was supplied to access the cottage as we never met the owner. I would definitely recommend staying there. Nothing
- William (8/5): Enjoyed our stay -
- Lah2041 (8/5): Comfortable accommodation with onsite parking in a quiet area - Comfortable accommodation na
- Caroline (8/5): A clean and comfortable retro cottage experience - A clean and comfortable older retro cottage experience. The thoughtfulness of the hosts leaving a bottle of cold water in the fridge on a very hot day. Also in providing a good range of drinks, adequate milk, lots of helpful information, full range of cooking utensils and dinnerware, a large new fridge and appliances that worked. Cottage could be improved with a second toilet in bathroom. The only toilet was located by the backdoor near laundry, away from the bedrooms. Not conducive for older visitors with mobility issues, kidney issues getting up in the night.
- Esme (10/5): Exceptional - So comfortable & very well equipped.
Very clean.
- Banks (8/5): House was excellent for our needs. - good location The windows did not work and it was very hot during our stay.
The windows would not stay open.

- Deb (9/5): Superb - Good location ,firm but comfy bed.cottage was larger than expected.kitchen was well equipped
Nice quiet location Nothing
- Garry (8/5): Very good -
- Jane (8/5): Very good -
- Sue (3/5): Disappointing experience for such a beautiful location. - Location. Rabbits in the backyard were cute. Taps in laundry not working, kitchen tap was horrendous. Lino on the floor was bubbling up and a trip hazard. The laundry trough and various walls throughout the property were stripped and patchy with no attempt to fix them. Lack of instructions for the split system which was on the floor. It continually turned off after 2 hours. No water in fridge or nibbles.
- Chris (7/5): Good -
- Jacqueline (7/5): Good - Found it very tired and fairly poor condition
- Sandra (6/5): Pleasant - Everything needed was available. Well used property,Lounge due for an update as very uncomfortable and bed sags.
- Denise (8/5): Very good -
- Ashok (9/5): Superb -
- Geraldine (5/5): I wouldn’t stay here again - That it was clean and had good selection of teas and shower had good pressure That the wind blew the big tree against the bedrooms so that it sounded like an army was climbing up the sides to the roof. Also the WiFi didn’t work. There was a general aura of decay and lack of maintenance
- Garry (8/5): Very good - Everything required was available. Nothing
- Shun (9/5): Superb -
- Jenny (3/5): Disappointed - Roomy
Hot water
Quiet Wasn’t serviced on our arrival
Desperately in need of repairs and painting
- Dianne (8/5): Very pleasant and I would recommend this property - The location was close to everything and was really spacious and comfortable with everything we needed. The check in was easy with good communication from Margo No real criticism except it is a little outdated but that didn’t affect our stay

- Randall (8/5): Cosy comfortable cottage. - Homely and comfortable cottage set amongst gardens in a quiet location. A nice outlook over a oval and trees and bunnies hoping around the garden. Well stocked equipped with essentials. A little far to walk into the town centre and could do with some renovations ie vinyl flooring torn and lifing, a cracked windows that couldn't be opened and front fly screen door with broken handle.
- Robert (8/5): A good place to base yourself in Strahan - Had everything we needed and was warm and comfortable
- Michelle (8/5): We enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It had everybody we needed including comfortable bed, towels and bathroom essentials - The cottage had everything we needed for our 2 nights stay. It was a little out of town, and from the water. Lots of mozzies came inside when it rained
