Guest Reviews
- Hesford (9/5): - Beautiful location
- Hasnainali (10/5): Cozy -
- Des (7/5): -
- Cassie (10/5): This place is amazing and we can’t wait to come back! - Family friendly and had awesome things for the kids to do! (Pool and Ping Pong)
- Esmien (7/5): Was a very pleasant stay and host was easy to reach - Open area for children to play
Kitchen was spacious No dishwasher and bathrooms were not near bedrooms
The one bathroom could really do with a cupboard or extra shelf
- Wurth (5/5): - The setting, the hosts - it was beautiful. Loved the ping pong table and pool table! It was very rustic and rural. It was not very clean. Inside drawers and the surfaces. It is an old house, but it could have been much cleaner.
- Myriam (8/5): Very happy to visit again. The Host 'Grant' was amazing! - Cosy cottage surrounded by outdoor spaciousness and beautiful big trees. abundance of bird life and young joey visits
- Lynette (10/5): -
- Ian (8/5): Didn’t spend a great deal of time there but it was perfect for what we were looking for. Thank you v -
- Kevin (7/5): Rustic out of town. - Clean and spacious. Close to busy road…..a bit tired.
- Wayne (7/5): - Spacious, comfortable with plenty of space outside T The age it was a bit tired looking. The wife and her sister didn't like the distance from town
- Bronwyn (7/5): Was a great little place to stay and make a base from. Nice being just out of town. We will probably go with the homeste - The serenity and peaceful vibe was beautiful. The sound of nature at your back door brought welcomed smiles.
Clean, easy to look after, the space was great with the kids (playing back yard cricket). The lawn midgies were a bugger and made it hard to be out without them flying around every step you took.
Satellite signal makes it impossible to watch tv - getting starlink could help that.
- Marinlla (5/5): - The house is big The location is 15 km. from Walpole and it's too far if you need something because is isolated place and no phone reception.
- Monica (6/5): - Setting outdoors Cleanliness
- Darren (10/5): What an awesome holiday vibe. Great host, location and fantastic accomodation. - The location, the history, the hosts, the comfort and of course the pool table. Nothing to dislike at all.
- Lisa (10/5): Good wholesome fun - The setting was beautiful, property was large and have everything you need to enjoy your stay - we were very comfortable No negatives it suited us just fine
- Richard (9/5): Great value, great location and great host! - There are three houses on site. The Homestead is the largest and has a pool table and a table tennis table. We stayed in the slightly smaller 4-bedroom Rangers House. We found it nice and clean and perfect for a family of four, although there are two double beds and two single beds. There was no wifi, and only Telstra worked, but we didn't mind, as we were able to have a "digital detox". The host, Grant, lives in the other house, which proved to be extremely handy on more than one occasion. Grant is a great bloke and was always on hand to help (changing the BBQ gas bottle, replacing the bathroom strip light etc). Walpole is a 10 min drive, and the spectacular Mandalay beach is only 8km on a gravel road. There is a DVD player with a selection of DVD's For the price, it's hard to think of anything. The TV signal is a bit patchy, but we didn't care as we enjoyed spending time together and talking to each other.
- Robyn (10/5): Beautiful and would love to stay again - The serenity, the country, the beauty Appliances...fridge, microwave, dryer, washing machine...didn't work properly
- Stephen (10/5): -
- Sreenath (9/5): -
- Longgen (8/5): - 房间符合预期,大家住的比较满意 没有网络,手机没有信号
- Rohan (9/5): -
- Damien (10/5): Nice quite spot to stay in comfort - Pre chopped wood property had everything you would need The only thing was bad reception internet to get tv to work
- Keziah (7/5): -
- Desmond (10/5): -
- Clarence (9/5): -
- Labuscagne (7/5): - Table tennis and pool table, nice backyard. Very nice host It needs a bit of cleaning outside and inside
- josh (9/5): Totally enjoyed our stay at Crystal Springs holiday accommodation. - Loved the location right next to Mandalay beach road.
The home was old but pleasant, the beds were all super comfortable. The location is pretty quiet the only noise was from the road.
We travelled to Denmark for the day and the drive was easy and only 10KM's from Walpole was good for any shopping we needed to do. Really good location to access all the local national parks and walking trails if that's your thing, which was ours.
Full size fridge and fully equipped kitchen was good, and we also had a washing machine and dryer.
Our house had a lovely old back deck area with a clean BBQ ready to use. The property itself is quite nice with some shallow dams and plenty of bird life, opened grass areas were good for the kids to stretch their legs.
The host Grant was great to deal with and I would recommend this property to anyone looking to spend time in nature, with walking trails and light 4WD tracks to enjoy close by. little bit more firewood to be supplied, saying that we didn't ask when it ran out so not really an issue.
- Tim (9/5): -
- Jasmine (7/5): Great place, private and set up well for families. - So much space, we came as a couple, but this place is has so much room for a family, or even two. We loved that fire wood was ready to use the fire place, ping pong and pool was fun too. Use of washing machine and dryer is great. Outdoor furniture a bit dusty and maybe in need of a scrub
- Mike (7/5): -
- rajesh (10/5): -
- M (9/5): For the power of peace - Such a peaceful property, lovely little traditional farmhouse style with nice beds. Lovely hosts, quite accommodating.
- Katie (10/5): 40th birthday weekend getaway - Location view and the price.
The house had a pool table and table tennis, comfortable couches, great kitchen and amazing views
- fox (9/5): -
- B (8/5): Very good -
- Parakumge (9/5): Superb - The house was warm enough and we enjoyed in playing table tennis and pool. We really had a great time with friends. The location is also very nice.
- Maria (10/5): Exceptional - We had an absolutely amazing stay at Crystal Springs! The accommodation was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. The surroundings were beautiful and peaceful, perfect for a family break. The kids loved exploring the area, and we all felt right at home. Grant is friendly and helpful, making our stay even more enjoyable. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful retreat in WA. We’ll definitely be back!
- Philippa (8/5): Was a very comfortable stay in a beautiful location -
- Peter (9/5): Superb -
- Jonnine (8/5): Very good -
- Yashvinee (9/5): Serenity and natural beauty, a short stay away. - The cleanliness was fantastic. When we walked in we were pleasantly surprised. The house was very homely and comfortable. I felt like I was living back home during my childhood in the country. The location was beautiful. Nice natural forest, clean air, and starlight in the sky at night.
We loved waking up and looking at the window from our bed. The tall trees and sound of birds made it a like dream window. The mattresses were very soft and the pillows were not comfortable. They may need replacing.
- Deborah (8/5): Great location for a getaway. - Great location. Beautiful property.
Well taken care of, and lots of room.
Well appointed and comfortable rooms.
- Shutong (10/5): Exceptional - Such a great house for a big group of people to stay at! Comfy rooms and bed. We also loved the pool table!
- Allwyn (8/5): Very nice, comfortable, beautiful, amazing view and restful holiday and clean - Property was clean with all amenities. We were able to make breakfast plus cook some food with our ingredients as everything else included pots and pans were provided
We enjoy the heater facilities and also the tv which was a smart tv so we were able to connect to the internet via our phone and watch prime and Netflix . We had a great time . Beds were also comfortable and house is big and spacious
Books to read for the kids plus chess games kept our kids happy and busy . They loved the space and were able to play hide and seek in different rooms During bath time at night the water went cold and found the instructions to turn on the heater too complicated
Also Soaps for bath time were not provided like it generally is for other hotels we brought ours so all good
- Diane (8/5): Very good -
- Megan (9/5): Relaxing getaway for two families - Beautiful, peaceful location where you can really unwind and get away from it all.
Lots of bedding options, clean, great facilities. Beautiful surrounds. Four bedrooms - two queen size beds, one room with three singles and another with a double/queen and a single, plus four mattresses in the games room if needed. Great for large groups. Spotless kitchen and bathroom.
The kids spent hours catching tadpoles in the lake. They loved it and it gave the adults plenty of time to relax on the verandah while they played happily.
A wonderful location close to Walpole, Valley of the Giants, less than an hour to Denmark where you can enjoy stunning wineries, beaches and produce.
It’s our second time here and we love it. Grant is a great host and it was lovely to finally meet him on this trip. Nothing.
- Kutrina (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing location, quiet, Grant was wonderful in taking care of all our questions and any problems we had
- Adele (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful peaceful location central to the national parks and tourist attractions Nothing negative to say
- Jeffrey (7/5): Enjoyable, tranquil and relaxing. - Tranquil setting, plenty of room and especially liked no internet.
We actually didn’t realise how good it was to be off grid! Bit of a light bulb moment. Made the stay even more tranquil It was basically clean on arrival, but it could do with a deep spring clean.
- Michells (8/5): Relaxed, spacious, clean and comfortable. - Everything was supplied. The activities were great and the hosts had thought of everything. It was very clean with comfortable beds. Showers were hot and the bath was a nice treat. The main couch is a bit old and tired.
- Linda (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely remote property. Had everything we needed. Lovely email from the owners as they came to see us but had already vacated. No internet but was only couple days
- Charles (9/5): A shirt bit wonderful stop, great contact with the joyful and helpful owners, lovely stargazing at night, lovely nature - Essential, simple, nothing missing, cozy and… very clean!
- Laurence (8/5): Very good -
- Jason (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Hotpie (10/5): Would definitely consider staying here if and when we visit the area again. - The property was a few kms from the town of Walpole but still very convenient. It gave us a great base to visit the attractions around the area. The house had basic but most of the things you require. Loved the log heater. The beds were comfortable and the linens were clean. Great hot water and filter water. The surroundings were nice and although close to the road it wasn’t a problem. There was no internet and as I didn’t have Telstra I had no phone coverage either. (First world problem).
- Shahriar (9/5): Best location
Best for large groups or family.
Wonderful hospitable property owner.
All about family - Meeting Grant the owner of the property was the best thing. He has arrange everything very nicely and also done a great favour for arranging BBQ meat. Grant is the best. Nil
- Maria (10/5): We loved the place - Beautiful home
- Annette (9/5): Homestead House near Valley of the Giants - It was easy to find, 10km to the town, close to a lot of scenic places for class 1-4 hiking, trail running, mountain biking, fishing and water sports. The It’s a good accommodation for winter to spring, not sure about summer as there are no sources of cooling.
- Jezza (10/5): Great stay - Nice relaxing house, clean on arrival and had everything we needed. Wood was stocked ready for a fire and extra bedding if needed. Nothing.
- Manuela (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sui (8/5): We had a lovely stay of two nights. - It was in a rural location albeit a bit out of town but it meant a tranquil spot to relax in.
Once we settled in, it was cosy and Grant showed us how to light the fireplace. Which was a bonus as the night was getting chilly. And there were birds in the garden. It did look a bit run down from the outside and the rough floors gave the impression that something needed to be done with it.
- Daniel (9/5): Superb - Bigger than expected. Comfortable 8 ball and table tennis inside.
- Alan (8/5): Very good - Breakfast was not included
- Marg (9/5): Great - hope to return - VERY RELAXING SURROUNDS A sharp knife in the kitchen would have been handy. Also lighting could be improved- otherwise great
- Ray (10/5): Perfect location for exploring nearby walk trails. -
- Lucian (5/5): Passable -
- Hsu (8/5): Very good -
- David (9/5): Great place for a group to base their Rainbow Coast experience - Helpful and friendly owner, spacious house with plenty of room outside. Ideal for our needs. Great value for money
- Jennifer (9/5): A comfortable and happy stay in a wonderful location. - Lovely outlook from back verandah overlooking small lake and wonderful trees and bird life. Spacious rooms with everything we needed. Pool table and table tennis. Comfortable beds. Beautiful part of the country.
- Tracey (10/5): Exceptional - Very comfortable n relaxing Every thing was good
- Kylie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Robert (9/5): Superb - Peaceful location, great facilities, spacious home.
- Anonymous (9/5): My teenage kids and I thoroughly enjoyed staying here and would love to return - Crystal Springs homestead is very spacious and comfortable. It has everything you need in a beautiful peaceful setting.
- Anonymous (7/5): Very enjoyable! - Great for kids, lots of things for them to do and the space is great, washing machine and dryer awesome so we were able to keep on top of everything for the week! The beds were comfy and sheets were VERY clean and there were heaps of beds/ little mattresses It is an old house so there is a lot of dust and cobwebs, I did a run around and cleaned it a bit more when we arrived but it was by no means “dirty” it could just do with a deep clean every few months to keep on top of the cobwebs and dust!
- Melanie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Margaret (8/5): The house was very comfortable and our group felt relaxed in the rural environment. - The location was lovely overlooking the lake. Kitchen facilities were very adequate but could be imporved.
- Kwee (6/5): Overall pleasant - Nice lake Needs a bit of maintenance
- Catherine (8/5): Great family home for a comfortable base to explore the area - It was a spacious and had everything you would need to be comfortable. Lovely sitting on the back veranda and watch the wildlife 😀

- Steven (10/5): Exceptional -
- Meghana (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymousmd (7/5): Good -
- Renee (9/5): Superb - We loved the location and tranquility. Great space for kids to explore and play. Excellent place for a family getaway.
- Christine (4/5): A great little place, lots of facilities, old property, could be made to look really good - Cleanliness
- Megan (9/5): Relaxing holiday house surrounded by nature - love the location just out of Walpole and so close to all the national parks.
the house has everything you could think of, plenty of ute ails for cooking, extras like salt, pepper and oil, washing powder etc. very well equipped with games and books, sporting equipment, plenty of extra blankets etc. could accomodate multiple families with all the bedding and extra mattresses.
loved sitting out in the back verandah and soaking in the sounds of the birds and frogs. lovely and quiet at night despite being on the highway. a great place to base ourselves for a few days. The house was clean and all the amenities spotless (stovetop, kitchen, shower, bathroom sink etc) but being an old house it could do with a deep clean for things like skirting boards, particularly in the extension of the house where the bathroom is. This didn’t bother us at all but if you are a neat freak it may be an issue.
- Graeme (8/5): Very good -
- Jezza (10/5): Exceptional - Location was great, nice relaxing home , close to beaches and 4wd tracks for adventurers.
- Chia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Beate (8/5): Very good -
- Elisabeth (10/5): Exceptional - Peaceful location with lovely outlook. Birds & ducks on the lake & around grounds.
- Tricia (10/5): Exceptional - Relaxed atmosphere, tranquil surroundings and far enough away from civilisation. Our stay wasn't long enough ... this time
- Michael (8/5): Very good -
- Katharina (7/5): Good - Very well set up for large groups and with great activity options. Plenty of lawn for activities and not far to the beach. Well-equipped kitchen. Property is a bit tired and run down with mould on ceilings in several rooms. Tidy but needs a deep clean
