Guest Reviews
- Vicky (3/5): disappointed - The location Unfortunately, this property did not meet the standard we expected compared with other properties we’ve stayed in through Booking.com.
On arrival the house did not appear very clean
- cobwebs and dust everywhere
- dirty dishes in the cupboards
- dishwasher wasnt emptied properly and water in the bottom leaving a mould smell
- bins where full and contained seafood waste which created a very strong smell outside
- freezer also smelled strongly of bait and had to be cleaned before use
- Dog poo on the outside deck
- carpets smelled of dog wee
The kitchen was very basically equipped
- 5 useable plates
- all coffee mugs had chips in them
- 2 dirty oven trays
- open food in the pantry and spilt everywhere
- only 2 wine glasses
- 1 champagne glass
- 2 plastic kids plates
- 4 normal cups for drinking
- chips and food scraps and 2 minute noodle wrappers stuffed in couches/underneath the furniture
- food down the side of the dishwasher
- no mop available for cleaning the dirty floors during the stay.
The kayak stored on the property also had cockroaches and red back spiders inside it.
Upstairs cupboard space was limited because one of the wardrobes was filled with storage items, leaving very little room to unpack clothes.
The property listing also advertised a spa bath, however it was not operational during our stay and could not be used as a spa, which was disappointing as this was one of the features we were looking forward to.
The furniture throughout the property felt quite cheap and basic and there was no outdoor dining table, which was also surprising for a holiday property. The inside dining option is crammed and terribly uncomfortable.
Overall, the property may suit guests looking for a view and place to rest their head, however it did not meet standard expectations and we would not choose to stay here again.
I emailed the management company and there has been no reply.
- Colin (8/5): A great 4 day stay while the canal Christmas lights were on show. - Lovely house and great location. Could perhaps do with an upgrade….but not complaining.
- SD (8/5): - Location fantastic. It is an older home so no up to date fixtures or fittings.
- Mark (9/5): -
- Kim (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cassandra (10/5): We had a great ladies golf weekend away from home fabulous location - The house was lovely
Being on canals was very relaxing
Close enough to walk home from town
- Gavin (7/5): Nice place but time for some upkeep. - The location was brilliant. The communication from the agents was good. The house contained everything required to get started.
Brilliant jetty. The level of maintenance/cleaning was quite low. The courtyard lawn was 150mm tall and was well.overdue for a mow. The main gate sticks and needs adjustment. I understand the importance of not using pest control but that doesnt stop you from cleaning windows (upstairs balcony glass was atrocious) or the odd cobweb. Bird crap on the alfresco lounge which was not fresh.
- M (8/5): Very good - Amazing views right in your very own backyard. We fished and swam most of the time. We saw stingrays and dolphins. It was just perfect. The only negative thing I could say is, I booked for 7 adults but only 5 of us went, the bunk bed room is so tiny and squished that it's more suited to kids so we had to take mattresses out to sleep comfortably. All the queen beds were comfortable.
- Amy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jared (9/5): Great place loved it - Location Minimal Airconditioning for the price
- Jenna (8/5): Fantastic stay even better then the photos. - The house was super clean and spacious.
Linen was fresh.
Beds were comfortable
Beautiful view over the canal.
I would 1000% stay here again. I didn't like the check in and out times. Especially with its a 1 night booking. 4pm check in is very late. And 10am check out was too early. We had to rush breakfast and our morning. Was super annoying.
- Helen (5/5): Passable - Great location! Unfortunately in need of maintenance and a good clean on the outside of the property
- Kim (9/5): Superb -
- Kevin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Donndb (8/5): Canal Comfort - Great location on an established canal. Good fencing for safety of pets. Comfortable and good option for multi family groups or extended family gatherings.
Owners were quick to rectify any issues we had.
- Calvin (4/5): Good location but paying anything close to 1000, service and attention to details need to be improved - The location of this property was beautiful and very peaceful. The size of property is actually very good for a big group. For the price point that we paid, we were quite disappointed with our experience (a group of 7 adults and 1 newborn). Assistance from property owner was great, however this does not justify the price point for that stay. A few oversight prior to our stay was hot water system went out and fixed around 10pm, lights on bedroom 4 was out, shower knob on upper level bathroom kept on falling off, dishwasher load from previous tenant was not kept away despite it being the policy before check out.
- L (7/5): Good -
- Julian (9/5): Superb -
- Vicki (9/5): Close to the centre of Mandurah, beautiful outlook from house. - Great location on canals in Halls Head. Nothing.
- Susan (7/5): Great location for large family group close to beaches - Well located to all that is on offer in Mandurah in a quiet suburban street away from crowds, noise and traffic. Big kitchen/dining/family room looking out to large deck and vista over canal. Overall comfortable, clean & good for a family. A littke tired; first impressions fo count & front entrance with scant garden area very unappealing. Not impressed with missing flyscreen doors to main doors out to deck; holes in other flyscreens. Stairs to upstairs area somewhat hazardous with very narrow steps at turn & carpeting slippery. Dishwasher very old with wheels falling off pullout basket and front door difficult to close. Dishwashing in sink preferred for this reason but not enough detergent for 2 days; had to go and buy paper towels when half-roll supplied ran out. We paid top dollar for our 2 nights so our expectations were high as a result.
- Kim (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, suited my family perfectly. There was nothing we didn't like.
- George (10/5): good place - riverside, good view. garage cannot use
- Maricel (8/5): Very good - Good location and view.
- Sharif (10/5): Perfect holiday home for a big family. - The place was in an excellent location, a quiet neighbourhood overlooking the water. Everything was a short drive away - the shops, the cruises, everything.
The amenities were great. We asked for extra towels, which they provides. They even had a jacuzzi. The sitting arrangements outside were picturesque, we had our breakfast to the cool breeze and watching the sailing boats.
The best part was the host communicated well and helped us with the experience. I also need to mention that the house is well ventilated with a lot of windows looking out to the water. There was nothing to dislike. The price is steep but given the location and the amenities, it was worth it.
- Paul (9/5): Superb - A metal hinge at the front gates which locks the gates when open just on the kids' eye level. Can be pretty dangerous when kids walking to and from and it's easy to overlook the metal hook. It's also catching people as it's overhanging from the gates. The gate locker system needs to be modified asap due to safety concerns. My opinion.
- Alethea (10/5): Absolutely wonderful - Felt like home, has everything you need and more. very comfortable. Will definitely be back again That I can’t live there .haha
