• Ellen (7/5): The cottage was nice - I liked: - I had my own cottage to myself. - It was comfortable, well decorated and clean for the most part. - The hosts went out of their way to make you comfortable and offered to help with things. - It was good having a water filter out the front so didn't have to go out and buy water all the time. - Free breakfast made fresh daily. The downsides were: - Construction right across the narrow road with a group of men hammering from early in morning to late at night. - Group of men doing construction would stare at you when entering/exiting the property, making it uncomfortable for me as a solo female traveller. - Smoke smelling like chemical fumes would fill the property on most days, making it uncomfortable to breathe. Could not get the smell out. Even with doors/windows closed this smell filled the cottage. - Location was in a village not near shops/restaurants. No other tourists. When you walk through the village to get out to the main roads you get stared at by the locals and chased/barked at by the street dogs. - Some areas of the cottage were not completely clean such as the toilet seat had a disgusting stain on it, the shower head was dirty. - The gate padlock was hard to get unlocked. - Grab and Gojek drivers struggled to find the property as it was not in the same location on the app as listed on Google Maps, had issues with multiple drivers not being able to find the property. Also, one of the entrances into the village has a bridge over the river only large enough for a bike, so cars could not enter in from one direction, I had to be dropped off a distance away from the property as drivers could not get in.

• April (7/5): Pondok Biu where are you ? - As hosts Ketut & Rosita were brilliant. Only stayed one night but they came at 5am to ensure we got breakfast - Eggs poached & scrambled perfectly. Arranged a driver for us to get back to airport (as the Grab car we got on the way there couldn't find it). Locals especially kids very friendly. 2nd bed in loft was not a proper mattress & not made up to use. Odd location but a short walk to a supermarket etc thanks to Google maps. Kitchen listed was outside small galley undercover but open, I don't think it was intended for guests. Sml dog tied up on short lead for the whole time we were there (very sad, no grassed area) he is apparently let off when there are no guests

• Eva (10/5): The owners of Pondok Biu are amazing hosts, you will feel well looked after and comfortable in a less touristy part of t - The house is lovely inside, and still feels private but with lots of natural light through the windows. It is in a quiet area off the main roads of Denpasar, surrounded by rice paddies and the houses of local people. It’s so nice to have a little garden and kitchen to prepare food if you want. Rosita came and cooked us an amazing breakfast every morning, we felt so blessed by her and Katut’s hospitality! The house was an ideal place to retreat after a day of Denpasar busy-ness. The only thing that was a little inconvenient was that the house did not come up on maps, so it was hard for us to order food or grab motorbikes directly to the door.

• Jacques (10/5): Deux derniers jours à Bali : nous nous sommes sentis chez nous et avons pu nous reposer. - Nous sommes arrivés avec beaucoup de retard, à 1h du matin. Nos hôtes, prévenus, nous attendaient avec le sourire et un jus de fruit d'accueil! Rosita confectionne de merveilleux petits déjeuners, ou repas à la demande. Ce sont des gens vraiment formidables, à la générosité sincère. Très beaux équipements et calme parfait. Emplacement un peu difficile à trouver pour les chauffeurs, mais finalement très proche (400 m) du boulevard de ceinture de Denpasar, donc pratique au final.

Our hosts were so helpful , kind, thoughtful and caring ❤️ we arrived tired and late in the evening but our hosts were so kind as to explain everything to us , give us a cold welcome drink and offered to pick up food for us ! The room was so clean and comfortable with a lot of attention paid to detail. After a wonderful nights sleep, we were provided with a freshly cooked breakfast which was presented beautifully . We checked out at 12 but the hosts allowed us to stay, relax for a bit so we could plan our day ☺️ They ordered us a taxi and waved us off with their beautiful little girl ❤️❤️❤️
• Sam (9/5): Beautiful traditional stay and lovely people - The owners were lovely and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The room was extremely comfortable we both had an amazing sleep. We only stayed for one night and thus didn’t get to see much of the surrounding area. We missed the owners the first night due to arriving late!

• Yuanyue (8/5): It’s a good stay since I wasn’t plan to do anything in Bali, I just need a good rest for the coming day flights - If you are looking for a place to stay far away from the tourist area of Denpasar, this will be it. No restaurants near by, I have to ask the owner to cook for me.

I felt so welcome and everyone went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed. The room is as pretty as the pictures. 10/10 would recommend!!
• Wirth (10/5): Beautiful cabins in beautiful mountains by a beautiful family - Perfect place to relax. Run be a beautiful kind Family which really cares about their guests. The cabins are the most cleanliest I have ever seen in Bali. The cabins are spaceaus an comfortable. You also have a nice balcony for rainy days and the breakfast was cooked every morning with love and dedication. The owner is a talented painter and you can see his artwork on a beautiful gallery on site. Sourounded by gardens in the beautiful mountains, you don't have it far to many waterfalls, gorgeous lakes and lovina with the Dolphins. Best value for the price, I had so far. Book! The only thing I disliked is that I could not stay longer :)
• Octav (10/5): Authentic experience - It's such a cute little place. The owners are lovely people. If you're looking for an authentic "old Bali" experience this is the place for you. It's in a village with not much tourist stuff going on but rather close to Sanur and the Batubulan area, which is great for authentic local culture. It's also not far from Ubud and all the attractions on that side of the island. The owners were really nice, there's an option to have dinner there as well which was home cooked and delicious.

We visited tbe school and had breakfast, which a couple of stufents served us. Was great expetience. We had local food for dinner cooked for us everynight. Delicious as was breakfast. Loved the.big bathroom. Close to explore the city if you like or walk amongst the friendly locals on a track that leads to a big department store with great prices for shopping fpr presents, clothes, shoes etc. Better than a market. Bed was comfortable, cooking facilities available. Clean and private. Securoty very good, motlrbike housed off road behind secure gates. Very private. Nothing

• Irene (10/5): A great welcome to Denpasar - You cannot talk about this place without mentioning Rosita. Her and her husband have created a beautiful little house in the outskirts of Denpasar that feels like home. Her smile is infectious and the breakfast made for us in the morning was top notch. She was kind enough to even prepare a packed lunch for our journey. The house is not easy to find with google maps: we suggest giving more detailed information on how to reach the house.

• Namita (10/5): Exceptional - Clean and comfortable room. It is a one room compact cottage, enough for a solo traveller like me. Can actually accommodate 2 people. The airconditioner works well, wi-fi is good, bathroom is clean. The hosts are fantastic. They stay about 5 mins away and made very nice breakfast and dinner for me at a very reasonable price. You have to tell them what you want. I mainly asked for Indonesian food and it was delicious. They will prepare and bring, sometimes cook in the kitchen that is behind the cottage. I loved the peace and quiet of the place. It is tucked away in a rural kind of setting, with paddy fields and banana trees around. The access to the cottage might not be immediately visible and is a bit inside behind the main road but that's why you get to enjoy the greenery. Local cars or grab will have no problems how to get in. I will come back to be in this quiet environment where I will be able to breathe fresh air and experience the wonderful hospitality extended by Rosita and Ari, the owners and hosts of this cottage. I told the hosts that the bathroom that is half open on one side needs to be closed. It overlooks banana trees and is on the side that doesn't really expose the main part of the bathroom. In fact, it makes the bathroom airy, but it might allow bugs etc to come in. I had no issues with bugs or anything like that though. But Ari, is very accommodating and takes every feedback positively. He is already looking into putting up an enclosure.
• Giuliano (10/5): Exceptional - The family host was super friendly and made me have a good time there. The place is beautiful and the breakfast amazing! The location might be a bit far but if you want to be with the locals (no tourists), then you are in thr right place. Besides you can reach many areas in 30 min of walk or with motocycle.
• Jill (10/5): Quaint bungalow tucked away from busy streets - The owners go above and beyond to please. They adjusted to my schedule for breakfast, ran out to get me dinner when I arrived late, and gave me a free drop at the pier. Very sweet! The place is a stand-alone bungalow in town, but tucked away from loud streets. Comfy! Best for early risers as there is a rooster on the property. I am an early riser so I didn’t mind. No restaurants close by.
• Serifina (10/5): Home away from home - The family who own this property are just beautiful, very kind and helpful with great English making communication really simple. The home itself was really comfortable with everything I needed and more, the surrounds were quite peaceful - especially considering you’re in Denpasar! There are bananas trees to your left and right and rice fields across the road. In saying this though, it was still a very central location with shops and cafes within walking distance. The owners helped me out with transport, both to and from the airport as well as around town, and cooked for me when I was feeling really tired and just needed to rest. Altogether, beautiful family, beautiful home, would stay again! If you are a young female, which I am, I would recommend! I felt very safe here.

For instance they got us a dinner in the evening 2 times from a Restaurant and organized a driver for sightseeing in Denpasar. Thanks again for the extraordinary service, Rosita and Ketut.

I enjoyed it very much. I was picked up in the middle of the night from the airport and the whole family came to greet me! Loved it!
