• Nele (9/5): Heel gezellig huisje met super ligging - Heel gezellig huisje met super ligging, handdoeken en lakens inbegrepen en ook verder veel spullen (koffie, kruiden, keukenhanddoeken enz) dat we mochten gebruiken. Ook het grote bad viel in de smaak.
• Joerg (10/5): Beautiful and super clean house in a quiet old part of the city, THE place to stay at in Tongeren! - Beautiful and super clean house in the old part of the city with cobblestone roads close to the old city wall. While the city centre and also the Antiekmarkt can be easily reached by foot in just a few minutes, the area is quiet with birds chirping and a nature reserve just a few hundred meters away. The house is nicely decorated and has everything and more than you can wish for to have a pleasant stay. If you are there you don't want to leave, so just plan for a longer stay as Tongeren and the area around has to offer so much more than just the antique market. After having spent a long day in the city and around, sitting on the nice balcony and enjoying the atmosphere was just invaluable. This is really the place you want to stay at!

• Jan (10/5): Erg gezellig en fijn weekend gehad. Locatie een absolute aanrader. - Prachtig huis met luxe keuken en badkamer, een fijne gastheer die alles goed uitlegt en goede tips heeft om de stad te bezichtigen. Hier ontbreekt werkelijk niets.

• Rachel (9/5): Relaxing getaway spot in a historic part of Limburg - Steve, the host was very friendly and welcoming. He was also very accommodating to our requests for a later check-out. The property was extremely clean and well equipped. The beds are very comfortable, the bathroom is gorgeous with ample toiletries and towels, the balcony is a great feature and overall it was a very relaxing stay. The location is also prime as it is just round the corner from start of the Sunday antiques market in a relatively quiet spot. The main rooms in the property are a bit dark, but that is not the fault of the property since it is an older listed building. The hosts provided a lot of lighting options which gives the place a cosy feeling. We only wished that we could have stayed more than one night.

It sleeps 4 comfortably, and the owners thought of literally everything. Cosy comfort! It's a bit pricey - we were just 2 people.... If you're 4, obviously the price p/night becomes much more reasonable

Während man in anderen Unterkünften mit Glück 1 Teebeutel und 1 Rolle Klopapier bekommt, ist hier alles in ausreichenden Mengen vorhanden. Die Lage ist perfekt, Parkplatz und Innenstadt direkt um die Ecke. Sehr freundliche Kommunikation und der Checkin ist mit Code oder Empfang möglich. Absolute Empfehlung!!

Das Haus liegt wunderschön und sehr zentral. Wir kommen gerne wieder. Es gibt nichts, was uns nicht gefallen hat.

• Borislava (10/5): Hier kann man sich Wohlfühlen. - Diese Unterkunft ist ein kleines Schmuckstück. Jeder Raum ist liebevoll gestaltet. Alles, aber auch wirklich alles ist im Überfluss da. Nicht nur ein, zwei Kaffeekapseln oder nur das übliche Set Handtücher oder Duschtücher, nein die Schränke sind voll, dazu Spiele und ein vernünftiger Haarfön ( ein Segen, wenn man lange Haare hat), Duschgel, Haarshampoo - ja hier hat man wirklich an alles gedacht. Die Betten sind sehr bequem, Ventilatoren im Schlafzimmer für heiße Tage und eine Traumlage. Wir waren zum zweiten Mal da und haben es wieder sehr genossen. Der Gastgeber ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend, hat unsere Reservierung zum Abendessen im Restaurant gegenüber mit einem besonderen Sitzplatz zu einem besonderen Abend gemacht. ——-

Beautiful views of the Sint-Ursulakapelle from the pretty balcony. Thank you Steve and Sophie for creating and sharing this luxurious home-from-home: you’ve thought of everything. It’s a wonderful base from which to explore your historic city. We particularly appreciated the personal handover, directions and suggestions. The local books were fascinating. We loved everything and hope to return.

• Reviews (10/5): Perfect beautiful town and accomodation - Tongeren is the most beautiful historical town, we loved and visited all of the roman history and museums and this accomodation was perfectly placed for that. The heritage of this part of town is gorgeous with walking paths and gardens, canals and roman walls. The accomodation is 3 levels on the ground floor a lovely entry to hang coats/shoes etc and a beautiful dining area over the cobblestone pathway, the kitchen is generously stocked with loads of coffee and everything you need just like you would have at home and unlike many holiday rentals. Also on the ground floor is a toilet room and large perfectly equipped laundry which we appreciated and even a separate freezer, The accomodation is modern but retains all of the charm that matches the town, the neighbourhood is very old some home displaying dates of medieval origin. The next level is the lounge area, tv and balcony and large gorgeous resort style bathroom with amazing bath and big open windows to the fresh air and the bird life. The balcony at the front of the townhouse overlooks the trees , old properties and you can people watch as you enjoy a coffee, we loved this every day. The top level is the 2 bedrooms the steps are old style, the depth of the steps is probably not enough for most feet so take care. Lovely upstairs again the loft style windows , fans available for cooling. The hosts were very generous thank you to them for making our stay special, wifi excellent. Good lighting throughout. Very quiet location. Dont miss the sunday antique fair look it up its amazing. This is not the hosts responsibility however please know that like in most old towns in europe parking is an issue, this town has 2 free actual parking lots and plenty of free residential off the main road parking if you dont mind a walk. What we found was that the parking lot closest to the accomodation was called PARKING SPORTPARK DE MOTTEN. This parking lot is used by locals who live nearby to store their trailers and local businesses who park their shop vans etc, also on sundays forget getting a spot because of the weekly antique market. We planned our sightseeing around this so as not to miss out. As the crow flies the accomodation looks very close but when you are moving luggage/shopping you walk further not a long way not a big deal but good to know. The locals in the accomodation heritage area were not friendly, we are very quiet people and respected all we came across, we always say hello and good morning etc to everyone, people stared at us directly on the balcony and stood and watched us which was really odd. We noticed after 4 days and nights that dozens of people were parking in the amply spaced lane ways overnight and for days no problem even one car that parked right at the front door of our accomodation so we thought for the last night we would park closer to pack the car and an old cranky women left a rude note on the car which we translated. We loved tongeren and the accomodation but the locals did not give us the impression they welcome tourists despite all our best efforts. Please note that there are no locals parking permits/machines or tickets required, just park and go.

(9/5): Lovely Accomodation In a Beautiful Area of Tongeren - Immaculately clean, tastefully decorated, comfortably appointed, and conveniently located, Le Petit Béguinage is an excellent base for exploring Tongeren and the Tri-Border region. The owners are friendly, informative, and prompt with their responses to questions. Access is easily facilitated with a keybox, and, thoughtfully, two sets of keys are provided, allowing visitors to go their separate ways and still access the property - something that's often lacking in other rentals. Do note, however, that this property exists on three levels, and, due to its age, has steep stairs. It is not appropriate for people who are differently abled. Fragrance is a very personal preference; one person's perfume is another person's odor. Given that many people are quite sensitive to scent, I would suggest that the use of diffuser reeds and other products be very limited if not curtailed altogether.
