The house was very high speck. Clean , comfortable with great amenities.
The owner was such a lovely gentleman very hospitable and friendly He very kindly provided welcome milk, apple juice and fabulous banana bread amongst other items for our arrival
I was only sorry I had only booked for 2 nights- there was so much else to see and do there
Well worth a visit and most definitely will return when we visit family in Sydney again

Host is really good We found some mosquito on the pillows(cottage)
- Rae (9/5): While we only stayed one night our break at Dantosa felt longer. I absolutely loved our time there and will book again - The property is so beautiful, peaceful and private. We had lovely walks, played tennis and the kids (teens) could roam freely. Sadly the lake house was out of action.
- Telma (9/5): We really enjoyed the stay…really recommend. - Breathtaking scenery…
Much beautiful than the photos in the website. The lake cottage decking was dirty with bird’s droppings , so we couldn’t go for kayaking…We were disappointed…
- Arnold (8/5): Comfortable and relaxing in an awesome setting - Awesome setting, clean and comfortable!
Great tennis court and paddling fun on small lake.

- Islam (10/5): We will definitely be back for another visit! - Our one-night stay at the three-bedroom cottage was an absolute delight! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality. The cottage provided more than enough space for our group of six adults and two children, ensuring everyone felt comfortable and relaxed. The surroundings were nothing short of spectacular, with nature embracing us from all sides. Inside the cottage, we found everything we needed and more. The amenities were well-thought-out and modern, and the attention to detail in every room made our stay even more special. The place was immaculately clean, which was highly appreciated.
The owner, Derek, was incredibly friendly and accommodating, making sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. I can't recommend this cottage enough to anyone seeking a memorable getaway in nature. It exceeded our expectations in every aspect, and we left feeling rejuvenated and grateful for such a rewarding experience. Nothing!
- Nga (9/5): Great weekend stay for a group - We booked the cottage for a weekend. The property was easy to find. Short drive from Katoomba town centre but on the other side of the highway. The lake was beautiful. Wonderful property. Had everything we needed for a weekend. Great communication from the host on how to get to the property, how to check in and how to check out. The rain shower was strangely designed. There was no separate cubicle so everything got wet but there was under floor heating which helped the floor dry at least. Unfortunately we also found a dirty plate stacked with the clean plates on the shelf which was a bit disappointing and it was a bit dusty, which our baby quickly discovered, walking and crawling around the cottage. Otherwise, couldn’t fault it.
- Louise (9/5): Spectacular retreat in Blue mountains - Immaculate house and cottage that accommodated our large group of 14! House is beautifully fitted out, in particular the kitchen had everything you could need. Wood fire in lounge was lovely to sit around and central heating kept us cosy inside. The grounds are beautiful for a walk and we enjoyed playing tennis one afternoon! The tennis court needs some TLC - a good percentage of the surface was quite mouldy. If it’s advertised as a feature, it should be in better condition.
Also bedroom 4 is actually a sofa bed in the office and unfortunately to get to the bathroom from the beautiful master bedroom you have to walk through bedroom 4.

- Linda (10/5): A lovely short Autumn break to connect with family. - The location was beautiful and the accommodation so clean and well presented. All conveniences were included to a high standard. The welcoming pack was also wonderful and included locally sourced items. Just what we needed. The location too was so close to the city centre and off course the main attractions (only a short 2 minute drive), though our family did decide to spend the two nights staying on the property. We weren't able to use the tennis courts as they were being set up for an event for the weekend. Such a shame as we had planned to use the courts for family time. But we totally understand, it's a beautiful location for a celebration.
- Xiaodan (10/5): Exceptional - This is a very beautiful place. It is very suitable for autumn to see maple leaves. A very clean and tidy house. Highly recommended, I will come again next time.
- Lily (9/5): A great place to stay! Will definitely go back again - It’s clean and comfy like a home, facilities are all in good condition. Lake view is stunning!
- Sandra (8/5): Very good -
- Maximilian (10/5): Exceptional -

- Lung (8/5): Very good -
- Milorad (7/5): Good -
- Lap (10/5): Exceptional -
- Leslie (10/5): Exceptional - We stayed at the cottage for the weekend. It was the perfect size for a group of 6. It was conveniently located only a few minutes away from the town centre and cafes. Quiet, well-maintained gardens and facilities.
- Hardy (7/5): Good -
- Dubravka (10/5): Exceptional -
- Thi (9/5): Superb -
- Anonymous (10/5): breathtaking, sensational, not only did it meet but exceed my expectations, will return in 2023 for a sexy night - the land and all its beauty and how secluded it felt the absence of animals …lol
- Vivian (10/5): Perfect for family holiday or friends gathering - This cottage is located in the middle of a huge garden, surrounded by many beautiful photo spots. A wonderful place for holiday with family or friends. It feels like live in a national park, but not far from restaurants. The amount of activities offered by this place is another highlight. Tennis, basketball, swimming, picnic are all available. We particularly like the wood fires on top of the little hill, a wonder setting for a glass of wine after dark.
- Chen (8/5): Very good -
- Michelle (10/5): Don’t miss out on the opportunity to enjoy a Dantosa Blue Mountain Retreat! It’s a dream! - Dantosa Blue Mountain Retreat was one of my favorite properties I had the opportunity to enjoy while on my 20 day “Walkabout”road trip in Australia! I stayed in a beautiful 3 bedroom counrty cottage with a fabulous view! What a delight to wake up and see the sunrise fall upon the pond while laying in my comfortable bed sipping delicious coffee! It’s the PERFECT location off the busy beat and path of of Blue Mountain explorers. It’s just a five minutes drive from downtown, yet it was like I had a private forest and gorgeous Estate to myself! You just can’t beat the location for privacy and convenience to adventure in the Blue Mountains. The staff welcomed me with a handwritten welcome note, homemade loaf of scrumptious Banana & butter in the refrigerator. They put together a lovely fruit basket for me as well. Loved the personal touches of fresh cut flowers on the dining room table!
The accommodations are positively lovely with beautiful flower gardens. I am a solo traveler, however it would’ve been perfect for family. The kids room had a cute twin bed and bunkbeds with a nice bathroom. The cottage had two master bedrooms beautifully decorated! The Kitchen appliances were impressive, everything and anything you might need for a fantastic weekend cooking with the family.
I’ve been on the road for several weeks, so it was fantastic to have a washer and dryer with soap ready to prepare me for my next adventures in clean britches!
Derek was a super host keeping in contact with me throughout my day of driving with detailed property directions and OVER the top professional customer service! He gave me fantastic recommendations for restaurants and sites not to miss in the local area! property was outstanding!
- Bee (2/5): Very uncomfortable as the place is not clean well and poorly maintained, not worth the money - No breakfast was provided which should be included given the high charge for the poorly maintained cottage as well as no onsite service available. Nice garden to look at from the distance for very able bodies as the tracks were not easily accessible and dangerous in parts. The share bathroom floor sloping towards the door, water running onto the hall way. I need to constantly scraping water away from the doorway while having shower. There were mould growing on walls, ceiling, blind and floor near doorway. There was no exhaust fan or window in this bathroom. Bad odour filtering into the hallway and lounge when someone uses the toilet.
The door cannot be closed or open widely in one of the bed room. The front small bedroom has no block-out blind and hence woke up at 5 am at sun rise. One of the remote control for air conditioner did not work. No fly screen anywhere on windows and doorways resulting in large blow flies and insect getting in.
- Ali (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sharon (10/5): We enjoyed a lovely family getaway at Dantosa. - The location & scenery.
- Curtley (10/5): Exceptional -
- Helena (10/5): Exceptional -
- Susan (9/5): Beautiful retreat to recharge the batteries! - The welcome pack was exceptional. The cottages were set in such lovely surroundings. Great location. Cute cottage with all facilities needed for a getaway. Highly recommend for a romantic getaway or with the family/ friends! Only wish we had stayed longer to use the canoes and fire pit!! :)
- Yin (10/5): Exceptional - We were warmly welcomed by owner Derek. Love the platter of cheese and crackers! The cottage is so clean & cosy. It looked even more beautiful in real life. I was impressed by the relaxing shower with heated floors, and the curated paintings and bookshelves in the bedrooms. We enjoyed waking up to beautiful sunrises with birds chirping and the view of the lake. We highly recommended!😊😊
- James (10/5): Dantosa is one of the best retreats that my friends and I have ever been to! - Dantosa is one of the best retreats that my friends and I have ever been to! A big shoutout to Derek for being so welcoming and helpful even before we arrived, we were greeted with a hearty cheese platter that made our day. The cottage and surroundings were breathtaking, highly recommended for a weekend getaway in the beautiful Blue Mountains
- Rong (8/5): Very good -
- Stephanie (8/5): The host Derek is very friendly and super helpful, beautiful property. - Our booking didn’t come with breakfast One of the toilet didn’t have a cubicle for bath, therefore we wet the entire toilet when someone bathe.
