Guest Reviews
- Sharon (8/5): Enjoyed the location! - It was in a fabulous location. Very clean with everything you need for an enjoyable stay. Great restaurant around! The stairs were very steep. They would be difficult to navigate for an elderly person. It was extremely noisy so very hard to sleep with a lot of cleaning and maintenance done outside at 3am. Also, pub goers were very noisy until the early hours of the morning.
- Valda (8/5): - Loved the apptment it was very clean and everything you ever want in an apptment
The back yard was a plus and the outside sitting area was a plus spent most of my time there
The kitchen is very well equipped I didn't use anything not even the kettle but it was there to use coffee and tea was available
The bed was extra comfortable đ The stairs you couldn't take your case up so you had to leave it at the bottom and carry your clothes up to the bedroom
They are very narrow and steep so if you have problems with stairs I wouldn't recommend it
I had my granddaughter with me one day and she fell didn't hurt herself but could have been serious she's not a small child in her 20ys so she's careful
I did ask for 1 hr extra time to book out was refused
I had a late flight , sat at the pub across the road for 2 hrs no one came to clean was very disappointed in that
There are a lot of rules about cleaning and making sure you take out the rubbish
But they do say you can leave the bed
It can be noisy but your in the middle of Freo so you have to expect that
- Korina (9/5): Kommen gerne wieder - SchĂśn gelegen
Wunderbare Aussenterrasse
- Robert (8/5): Lovely heritage terrace - Large rooms, great bathrooms and kitchen. Very clean, nice linen and comfy beds. Central to many of Fremantle's attractions. Lovely to stay in a beautifully renovated heritage building. As others have mentioned, because unit is centrally located, you are in the thick of the action on Friday and Saturday nights, so may be a little noisy for those that are light sleepers.
- Lina (10/5): Fabulous â¤ď¸ - Super charming cottage, very comfortable and great location. Everything!
- Claire (9/5): -
- Hage (10/5): Lovely cottage with an amazing location - Location was amazing. The history was great as well.
Markets at your door and endless choices of food and great coffee
- Katharine (10/5): Charming cottage in the heart of Freo. - Idyllic location - close to the market, lots of wonderful cafes, bars and restaurants, and within walking distance of the ferry terminal to get to Rottnest and Perth.
The cottage was spacious, had modern amenities and a beautiful outside space whilst retaining character and charm.
Would not hesitate to recommend to anyone visiting Fremantle.
- NORAINI (10/5): We had a wonderful stay at Warders Cottage. Simply. Love your home; immaculatly clean and so tastefully furnished!!! Exc - Lovely and quaint cottage, exceptionally clean. Beautifully furnishedâ¤ď¸ None
- Mel (9/5): Beautifully restored heritage cottage in the heart of Fremantle - Beautifully restored heritage cottage in the heart of Fremantle. Lovely host and great facilities, the cottage has everything you could ask for. On Friday night there is a lot of music and noise from surrounding pubs and clubs. Perfect if you want to party all night, something to consider if you're looking for a quiet night in.
- Jacqui (9/5): - Excellent location and convenient parking. During the night - quite loud area, but to be expected due to location
- John (9/5): Brilliant location, comfortable and clean high quality accomodation - Superb location and very comfortable. Accommodation. Well furnished to a high quality. Great bathrooms and balconies/terraces and good use of smaller than usual bedroom sizes - although an understandable lack of storage space as a result No issues at all.
- Caron (10/5): The home was very beautiful but location far to noisy - The location was perfect , but far to much noice at night I had to call the police one night due to fights and drunk peopleâs around the area If there were not so many rules and regulations posted around the apartment
Work was being done on the premises for 3 days which was very disturbing
- Peta (10/5): - Delightful, historical building in unbeatable location. Owners very considerate and helpful.
- Ottaway (9/5): - The location is perfect, right in the middle of Freo
- Sharon (9/5): Great location, great atmosphere, right in the Freemantle buzz. Very comfortable , luxe touches. - We were able to cook our own breakfast or go to the cafe two doors down. The accommodation was in a fantastic location, it is near a pub so expect street noise, that we were fully prepared for. We loved having a cheese and wine on the upstairs balcony watching all the people go by. Being night owls we actually joined in the city fun and enjoyed the gin bars, the markets, the cafes and pubs. If you are a go to bed at 7 pm type, you miss out on the fun. I would definitely stay here again. Minor comment. We are in our 60's and decided to leave our suitcases downstairs to manage going up the steep and narrow internal staircase, more so we didn't damage the walls . We are pretty fit, so didn't struggle with the staircase at all - but this is more to say it may be harder for an elderly person. It was quite easy to get ready for bed downstairs and just take what supplies you wanted upstairs. It meant we didn't have big suitcases taking up space in our room, and there was great storage under the stairs and in an alcove , which we really liked.
- Tim (10/5): - Excellent location, reasonably priced, historic. Nothing. There was some noise from the street, but to be expected given its location and the noise was not offensive.
- Mathew (9/5): -
- Narelle (9/5): Perfect location and welcoming feel. - Wonderful location as a base to explore Fremantle by foot. Just steps from the Market, a 10 minute walk to the Prison and restraints and grocery store within walking distance.
The cottage itself was tastefully decorated, and a full range of easy to use appliances were available. Great place to watch people . communication with host was excellent. can be a little noisy on Friday and Saturday nights but owner supplies ear plugs . A nice extra.
- julie (7/5): - the property is self-catering
- Matthew (8/5): A great family stay and experience. - Its heritage feel and convenience to Fremantle central. Nothing. It was very appealing.
- Alicia (10/5): Excellent - Fabulous location and it is such a beautiful property
- Erica (10/5): -
- Suzanne (9/5): We very much enjoyed our stay - The property is in a great location. Itâs beautifully decorated with great attention to detail. The kitchen is fully equipped and everything is of high quality
- Jeremy (9/5): - Amazing location, in the most splendid property. In the middle of town, with great access to all that Fremantle has to offer! Highly recommend.
- KAORI (9/5): wonderful - It is good experience for us to stay in a historic cottage and hospitality was also nice. It was late at night when we arrived,
so it was difficult to find the cottage.
- Katherine (9/5): -
- BFG (7/5): - Beautiful heritage home right in the middle of Freo. Too many instructions and rules from the host.
- Vivienne (8/5): Very good - Location was perfect for our business needs. The homeless people camped right outside our door was very concerning.
- Glen (9/5): You wont go wrong with this home. - Location and quietness of the home. Reserved Parking spot in the local carpark No microwave, minor but the instructions of what we had to do on check out (ie put all the towels in the downstairs bathroom), not sure what the house keepers do on a visitor change over.
- Patricia (8/5): Great little cottage if you have no physical limitations that would make a narrow and steep staircase difficult. - Great location, close to key activities Very narrow and steep staircase. Sat night was very noisy with local bars. First time a hotel has provided earplugs!
- Janine (9/5): Clean, comfortable and great location -
- Alexandra (10/5): Most enjoyable - Loved the character, great facilities and position in Freo. To be able to eat breakfast in the garden an unexpected bonus.
We misjudged the size of a double bed in the small room. (Perhaps because of the 4 posts)
- Joan (9/5): Loved the property and fantastic amenities. Great to sit on either deck and enjoy the sunshine. - Great central location although a little noisy in the evenings as this was a very central location close to footy ground, markets and pubsđ¤ Our friends were in the front bedroom so they did find it a little noisy. Better when they located the ear plugs. I found it ok and only woken by the council workers cleaning during the morning. Not a big deal as used to an early morning.
- Liamhan (10/5): EXCELLENT LOCATION - AMAZING TO STAY IN SUCH A HISTORIC BUILDING - Location was perfect for Fremantle. Mins walking distance from the Main Street and also walking distance from the Ferry and Fremantle Prison and a supermarket. You do not need a car in this accommodation.
Lots of space in the cottage, it is in fact a small house. They also have a washing machine & dryer which I didn't expect. Very pretty garden at the back and totally private. Lovely to stay in such a historic setting.
We liked the property so much that we booked to stay there again for our last two nights in Perth. There was some noise on the street at night over the weekend but the Host mentions that and provides ear plugs too which shows they have thought of everything!
Thank you
- Priscilla (10/5): The style and location of this property is trendy and unique - Canât compete with the location. Any slight movement made the bed squeak.
- Jp (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (8/5): Don't stay Friday or Saturday night! - Very nice cottage which had been tastefully refurbished. Really comfortable, fealt like home. Very well stocked kitchen. Great outside areas. Friday and Saturday night was not good! Kept awake until 3 and 4 in the morning by the noise from the night club nearby!
- Brian (9/5): Fremantle Fun - excellent location and the property was well equipped and clean. rooms a little small but that is the style of the period of the building ....so ok.
- Sally (10/5): A wonderful 3 nights in Fremantle. Location and quality is awesome. Would recommend this historical cottage. - Location and size. Ideal for 4 people. Noise from local hostelries, but to be expected in this location. Owners aware and provide earplugs.
- Gina (9/5): Great spot, close to everything - Close to everything All the rules
- Stuart (10/5): Exceptional -
- Margaret (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sharon (6/5): Very good - Location Stairs,
The toilet upstairs didnât always work
- Natalie (10/5): Exceptional - Beautifully presented - had everything we needed. Chilly in June
- John (10/5): Perfect - Iâd challenge anyone to find a more perfectly located stay. With the Sail & Anchor pub so close you could throw a dart and hit the board in the main bar and the markets next door you find yourself in the dead centre of Fremantle. The cottage itself was outstanding. Little nooks and crannies throughout that you could enjoy solo and relaxing common areas for get togethers or to enjoy with your significant other. Will definitely stay there again Gets a little noisy outside on weekends but what do you expect when youâre in the middle of the entertainment precinct. Was not a deal breaker by any means
- Katherine (10/5): Wonderful - The cottage was clean and comfortable with everything we needed. The location is great and the free parking is a bonus. The noise on Friday/Sat night wasn't an issue for us as earplugs did the trick. It's worth it for the location and the beautiful unique cottage.
- Karen (8/5): Easy access to Fremantle in beautifully renovated cottage - Tastefully renovated, quality appliances. Inadequate heating for winter. Couldnât take luggage upstairs. Significant outside noise early morning.
- Alyson (10/5): A wonderfully comfortable and enjoyable stay at historic Warderâs Cottage - Great value for money and the position was perfect - easy walking distance to all of the best areas of Freo. The entire cottage was super comfortable and fitted with quality appliances, furniture and linens. Plenty of pantry staples & washing powder available along with luxurious bath products! The back garden is a beautiful place to have breakfast and we loved our morning coffee on the balcony off the main bedroom upstairs. This beautifully renovated historic cottage is a fantastic place to base yourself in Fremantle. If we come back we are definitely staying again! Having to leave!
- Graham (9/5): Superb -
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ariel (8/5): Iconic location, perfect for exploring Fremantle - Love the history of the location. Well appointed modern kitchen and bathrooms! Clean outdoor furnitures, dining at the courtyard, morning coffee at the balcony. Some dirty pots n pans, toilet flush need maintenance. Third party management of property.
- Kat (10/5): Just fabulous in every way We will be back Thank you for an amazing stay -
- Graham (10/5): Perfect Fremantle stay with fabulous location. No car needed. - Location superb. Exceptionally clean with well equiped kitchen, laundry & bathroom. Main bedroom very spacious & the bed was very comfortable with a beautiful ensuite. Second bed comfortable but only a double. Would be small for larger quests. Nice having a full second bathroom downstairs. Outside area stunning and well used. The local Gin Bar was a nightly favourite. Dining was very good at Gin Bar BUT..... the Fremantle Angel's House with French Cuisine was amazing. Would highly recommend and use again. Not a negative but would have been helpful if the information folder had been up to date. eg The Blue & Red Cat free buses were discontinued October 2023.
- Gail (9/5): Excellent place to stay close to so many points of interest in Fremantle. Just need to be aware of the pub/club nois - Great restoration of a heritage site. The noise. Friday night house party at the metropolitan til 3am and again Saturday night til 4.30am.
- Nicki (10/5): Exceptional - Close to everywhere we wanted to go, location was excellent.
- Mair (9/5): Perfect in every way , apart from the weekend noise! - Good location, close to cafes, shops, local markets &transport. It was spotlessly clean , spacious with own garden. Good communication at all times. The portable air-con upstairs was extremely noisy. Second bedroom didnât have air con & the fan was NOT sufficient. The loud music from a venue nearby on Friday & Saturday night until 3am was disturbing as you canât sleep!, At 7.15am on Sunday the street cleaners in 2 large trucks power wash the streets for 20 mins!
- Drew (9/5): Great facility in an excellent location - Location, character , convenience It was extremely hot weather, air con was a little inadequate
- Amanda (10/5): Beautiful and so central - Amazing little place in tge centre of Freemantle. Much bigger than it looks in the photos and the garden is lovely
- Jacob (9/5): Superb -
- John (9/5): Superb - Central Fremantle location. Well furnished, comfortable cottage with a sizeable and attractive garden. Because of the central location, on Saturday night it was noisy; other nights were quieter.
- Julie (10/5): Delightful stay in a beautiful cottage - The hosts were very good to deal with and the house was exactly as expected The stairs were steep and narrow, however it is a historic building so this is expected
- Lisa (9/5): Superb -
- Siri (9/5): Lovely historic property in a central location. All amenities provided and garden too. - Lovely historic property in central location Not being used to living in a city it was noisy at nighttime although the host provided earplugs.
- Belinda (10/5): Totally loved our stay. Will be back to stay again for sure :) - Loved the history and the location of the cottage.
Itâs been beautifully renovated.

- Elizabeth (9/5): Superb -
- Mitch (9/5): Superb -
- Fook (8/5): Great location - Location and cleanliness The mattress and pillow too soft
- Anonymous (10/5): Although there for a sad reason, being in the heart of Freo in such a lovely residence lightened the mood. - The location, the decor, good linen, cleanliness and charm of a 170 year old cottage. Friday and Saturday night pub music until 5am. Perhap double glazing on the front upstairs windows would alleviate this.
- Annie (10/5): Gorgeous historic property, fantastic location - fantastic historic property with a great location. was beautifully set up and very comfortable. Everything we needed was on hand and close by are Great restaurants, the markets and shopping. Contact with the property manager was easy and our stay was very enjoyable!
- Gary (9/5): Superb - Fantastic location and very accessible to all Freo has to offer.
- Linda (8/5): Very good -
- Liz (10/5): Exceptional - Location was brilliant- right in the heart of Fremantle. We could sit on the upstairs balcony and watch the world go by. Lovely outdoors are downstairs at the back too.
- Tania (8/5): Great place to stay - The location was central to everything. The accommodation was clean and roomy. The kitchen was a good size with all facilities. Laundry and drying facilities were also good There was no air conditioning in the second bedroom and it was a little hard to sleep on a hot night. The air conditioning in the main bedroom was OK but noisy.
- Amber (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sophie (9/5): Loved the cottage, really nicely decorated for a relaxing stay. - Great location, super cute cottage for a weekend away!
