Guest Reviews
- Robyn (10/5): -
- Deborah (10/5): - Very homely and cosy house with all possible items for an enjoyable stay . Thankyou Kym
- Jenni (10/5): Magical and restful. - A beautiful and peaceful location. The cottage is very comfortable. Comfortable bed. Great shower. Loved feeding the donkeys. Ballerina geese so pretty. I’m not an animal person. But this was special. Maybe now I am an animal person. Didn’t get to see a platypus maybe next time. Having to pay gate tax to Trevor and Donkey. Kidding that was probably my highlight. Donkey and Trevor hear the click of the door and are quickly at the gate waiting for their apple or carrot which has thoughtfully been provided by the hosts.
- Neil Bland (10/5): Outstanding and we have already begun recommending Kymmick cottage to our friends. - The cottage was outstanding, beautifully decorated, a new kitchen, a super comfortable bed and an idyllic setting amongst a rose garden and lawn with the river running close by.
We loved the home cooked bread, the breakfast food and treats, they were a surprise. The hosts were lovely.
- Angela (10/5): - We liked everything. The animals were very friendly, the fire warmed the whole house, beds were comfortable and the baked goodies were delicious. We liked everything.

Owners Kym and Kim made us very welcome, and nice fresh produce as welcome pack for breakfast. But the donkeys, chooks ,ponies and other animals stole the show !!

- Toni (10/5): A home away from home. - What can I say, the hosts couldn’t be more attentive as arrived during storms and blackouts. The cottage is very comfortable and felt like home. The animals added that extra something. Would definitely recommend. Nothing

- Anita (9/5): Should have stayed longer, will do that next time. - Just a delightful place, peaceful, pretty and comfortable. Nice kitchen and laundry facilities and a lovely loaf of fresh bread on arrival. Can’t think of any negatives.

- Debra (10/5): Exceptional - Everything about Kymmik cottage was top notch, we scored it 11/10. The owners were very friendly, the cottage was super clean, it was equipped with everything we needed, it was furnished superbly. When arriving the cottage was warm as the fire had been pre lit and the home made bread, jam and butter was a really nice jester. ❤️
- Mark (10/5): This is an excellent property located in a special part of Australia with dedicated hosts. - This property offers a self contained holiday. However, Kym provides adequate supplies for your first with plenty to spare - including free range eggs, fresh honey and home made bread. The property Has everything one would need to look after their cooking requirements.
Located just outside Geeveston in the Huon Valley, the location is good to base yourself for local sightseeing. A serene, quiet and private location set on few acres with a permanent small riverlet running through which is not far from the house. Kym looks after rescue animals : including mini horses, donkey, peacocks. She also has a couple of delightful dogs, geese, ducks and other bird life. Kym provides food to feed the larger animals if desired. Everything was very clean and the property appropriately appointed for the area. The house contains a washer and dryer, dishwasher, a wood fire with all the firewood needed. Nothing
- Leanne (10/5): Kymmik cottage suited our situation perfectly. - Kym met us at the gate and let us into the cottage. We were welcomed with a note on the blackboard. She also baked fresh bread for us. Kim made sure we had enough wood for the fireplace. The animals were friendly. We got to watch the platypus play in the creek. The wine was well priced. The cottage was close to Cockle Creek, the Hatz Mountains, and the other villages of the Huon River. It was a pleasure to add a comment to the Guest Book.
- Selina (9/5): It was a very peaceful location with very friendly & accommodating hosts. - Clean, well maintained, very cosy & the delightful welcoming party of donkeys, geese, miniature ponies, sheep, dogs & chickens.
- Dinah (9/5): Amazing property, warm and friendly owners - The comfort and facilities of the cottage were amazing. The heated bathroom floor was also greatly appreciated.
The couple that own the property go to extra lengths to ensure a great stay. It was lovely to chat with them to learn about the animals and their journey in building the cottage.
We arrived to freshly baked bread, a cosy lit fire followed by an amazing apple cake the following day for afternoon tea.
The animals greeted us at the cottage gate each day, eagerly awaiting their treats.
The views from all the windows were breathtaking as a flowing creek wraps around the cottage and there are always animals and geese wandering about.
Geeveston is a beautiful part of Tasmania and well worth a visit
Thanks so much Kim and Kym. We'll be back for sure. 😘 Having to pack up and leave 😔

- Robyn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Trish (10/5): Peaceful - Beautiful farm, friendly animals
- Louise (7/5): great location, loved the rescue animals - lovely setting, enjoyed the interaction with the animals. great bath as it’s out of town would have expected more kitchen implements to self cater( such as foil gladwrap , salt and pepper ). too many ornaments in the cottage, especially on kitchen benches when you are trying to prepare meals.
- Sonya (9/5): Superb - The cottage was very comfortable and relaxing especially with all the personal touches. The animals (Donkey, Trevor et. al) were so welcoming and entertaining.
- Peter (10/5): Our 5 day stay was wonderful. A perfect ending to our tour of Tasmania. - Perfect, quiet and peaceful location. Friendly farm animals and chickens around. It was perfect
- Clare (10/5): Absolutely amazing 😉 - We could not fault anything the cottage is amazing, so comfortable and everything we could possibly need, a huge bathroom with a huge bath and spotlessly clean, 2 huge comfy bedrooms, a beautiful fire place, huge open kitchen, lounge and combined dining room.
The gardens are full of beautiful scented roses and all the rescue pets are so friendly from the donkeys, sheep, chickens, ducks, miniature horses and our favorite dogs Sheba and Harlo.
Kym and Kim made our stay so special with freshly baked bread and milk on arrival nothing we asked for was a problem. I cannot recommend this property more highly and we look forward to our next stay.
It is so close to all tourist attractions in the far south of Tassie Nothing
- Jo (10/5): wished we’d stayed longer! - uniquely beautiful inside and out
- Stephen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Deborah (10/5): Exceptional - The most idyllic beautiful surroundings. Creek flowing past, farm animals surrounding u with requests for pats and food. The cottage was so comfortable and all the special touches and love that went into the cottage made u feel like home. Bed comfortable, combustion fire warm and cosy...kitchen and bathroom modern and well equipped. Nothing it was perfect
- Perihan (10/5): Safe Haven in the Huon Valley - Such a beautiful part of the world, in such a homely and welcoming setting.
We loved waking up to the sound of rushing water in the rivulet surrounding the property, roosters crowing, donkeys eeh awwing, geese cackling, chickens squawking and ponies neighing! Prancing peacock and gorgeous doggos. The warmth of a log fire, fresh eggs from the farm and all the little special touches from the beautiful hosts Kym and Kim. We will for sure be back. That we didn't stay longer.
- Jenn (10/5): Exceptional - We had a fabulous stay in the Kym's cottage. Comfortable, warm with nice touches as freshly baked bread, cookies and the fire already lit ready for our arrival. The rescue animals on the farm were a delight. Trevour, Donkey and Chester lined up for their daily nibbles and I managed to wrangle a determined Sparkles the sheep who despite her limited sight was determined to race the car to the open gate.
We had a joyful stay and would rate this accommodation as one of the best I've stayed in.
