• David (10/5): - Wonderful place to stay for our group for a bike riding weekend on the Old Beechy Rail Trail. Slight issue with the fireplace but it warmed the house well once it was going. Agree with some other reviews that references to two bathrooms is misleading when really just one bathroom and one separate toilet. But will most certainly recommend Gelli House to friends if they are looking for accommodation in Gellibrand.

• Felicity (7/5): Beautiful farmhouse let down by inadequate heating arrangements. Ok for warmer months. - Beautifully restored farmhouse, lovely views and quiet location. Good quality modern appliances, well equipped kitchen, lovely bathroom with huge double shower and a modern bath. Warmest doona I’ve ever slept under. Comfortable beds. The only heating was a wood burning stove. Given the modern renovation I was expecting ducted heating or reverse cycle. While the wood burning stove provided adequate heat once lit, the cleaners had left the stove 3/4 full of ash, a box of matches with 1 match and only a couple of sheets of newspaper. The trunk for wood by the fireplace was totally empty. Cleaning out the fireplace, finding a bucket in the shed for ashes, laying the fire and filling the trunk with wood took nearly an hour. I had to buy a lighter at the village store the next day to relight the stove.

• Karob (10/5): Brilliant place for escape to a beautiful forest area - Great quiet location for relaxation, lots of space to spread out. Kids loved the swing, friendly farm animals and pick you own blueberries 2 minutes up the road. Close enough to beach for days trips on the great ocean road and return to the forest for rest. Nothing except that we didn’t plan to stay longer!

• James (7/5): Hot hot hot in Gellibrand - House was really lovely with good space. Lovely styling. Walking distance to town and the local pub. Average of 38 degree days with only bedroom fans going made it like a sauna indoors (no fan in living and dining areas) Can imagine how cosy it would be in Winter with the fireplace but not quite right for summer. Luckily my elderly parents didn't join us or they would have suffered heat stroke. When we used the oven it got hotter so we opened the verandah doors which invited loads of flies in. Don't get me wrong, i would go back no hesitation in cooler months!

• Emeline (9/5): Superb - Even though it was a little further out from the great ocean road than we would have liked, the Gelli House was a perfect home away from home for our family. The rooms set up worked out really well and the family size bathroom with double shower and bath was very practical. The kitchen was well equipped with all utensils. The view was lovely too and the kids had fun spotting the sheep, birds and the cat! This is really minor detail but there wasn't a lot of room for our towels to dry, and the cutlery basket for the dishwasher couldn't be found.
• Michelle (7/5): We really enjoyed our stay! The visits from the local sheep were an added bonus. - Location was quiet and peaceful, which is definitely what we were after. The local Gellibrand River Hotel is a must for a delicious local pub meal and within 10 minutes walking distance. House was equipped with what we needed, beds were comfortable, bathroom was new and renovated (great shower heads) and house was spacious enough for 5 people, anymore people and the one toilet may not have sufficed. The place was a little dusty and could have done with a more thorough sweep (saw a dead fly on the floor and a lot of dust/dirt). It would have been handy to have more than just 2 dishwashing tablets so we didn’t have to wash the dishes ourselves (no one wants to do that on holidays). A more thorough clear out of the fridge and pantry would have been good too as there was a lot of leftover supplies that had expired, I understand it’s better not to waste food but for the items that have expired there is no need to keep them and makes the house more appealing and clean if they were disposed of prior. The external bins were full when we got there which was not ideal and not the best look. Different doona covers would have elevated the aesthetic of the renovated house.

• Carly (9/5): Our stay was short and sweet, we only wish we had more time. - This property was immaculately presented. Beds were comfortable and the owners were easy to communicate with. The key lock was a little challenging to open in the dark.

Walking distance to playground, pub and general store. An extra toilet and fan in front of the house (kitchen, living) or AC would have been a welcome addition!

• Frances (10/5): Wonderful comfortable stay . Definitely cant wait to come back - The location of the Gellihouse is just perfect . Its right in the heart of Gellibrand and is easy walking distance of the pub and other eateries whilst having superb views over open country side . The house itself was spacious , very clean and well appointed with everything you need to enjoy your holiday. The views from the living area and the main bedroom are just beautiful . The main bathroom is large, very modern with a double shower and a bath .We loved the veranda located just outside the kitchen . It was the perfect place to relax and unwind after a day of activity . Couldn't fault this place . Definately going back Because there were 6 of us in the house an extra toilet would have been useful at times!!!

• Marilyn (8/5): We did enjoy our stay here - lovely aspect It was advertised as 2 Bathrooms but in fact has only 1 bathroom and 1 toilet. The toilet straight off the kitchen. Sadly when they renovated there was definitely room to create 2 bathrooms. The house sleeps 11 people - not conducive to 1 bathroom 1 toilet.
