Heather (1/5): Terrible booking experience... canceled day of by property manager! - Terrible booking experience and communication with property manager. We never got to stay here. Less than three hours before our check-in we were contacted to say there was an error with another booking site and the house was not available. This is a rural area of Costa Rica that we were visiting family and wanted to be close, so very difficult to find lodging, especially same day. We can understand booking errors, but we booked four months in advance, there is no reason to be notified day of. The manager was less than helpful and was without cell phone reception when we needed the most help. He offered a friends rental for a couple of nights, but it was less than ideal in location and accommodation, and we were left on our own to even find it with limited instructions...we took one look and said we'd rather find something on our own. Luckily we are resourceful travelers and bilingual with an international phone plan, we had to stay in two different places to make it work, but the locals who ended up helping us were amazing. We love Costa Rica and use several booking apps all over the world, we've had hiccups before, but this was an all out nightmare.
