Guest Reviews
- Lesley (5/5): Won't book this house again - Location Oven/ stove didn't work.
Towels were rolled up on beds but they were still wet.
Tea towels weren't fresh and clean. Breakfasts were served only twice and even then they had to ask where it was. Should have been 4 breakfasts.
- Glenn (7/5): - The complimentary food and wine was lovely. The location (next door to the Watervale Hotel) was fantastic. The guesthouse was very dark and there was no natural lighting. The kitchen (including the cupboards and drawers) wasn’t clean. There wasn’t enough toilet paper.
- steve (9/5): The size of the bedrooms were fantastic with the amount of people travelling together. - Breakfast provided was light on. Mini croissants, almond biscuits, jam, butter etc. I think something more hearty in this part of town would've been more appreciated. Screen doors would have been a bonus as the flies were menacing!
A heartier breakfast to use that huge BBQ out the back would've been great.
- Sue (10/5): Great night’s accommodation on the Lavender Federation Trail. - So much room and amazing location. Coffee maker wasn’t working.
- Sutton (10/5): -
- VAL (8/5): -
- Rosalyn (9/5): - Lovely Breakfast supplies provided. Very large house. Perfect location. Flies easily entered when arriving and leaving as no screen doors, however, location is in the country so not unexpected. Spray was available.
- Emma (9/5): -
- Doug (10/5): So good - Great location, great facilities.
- Sarah (10/5): - Fantastic location being so close to the restaurant. Breakfast provisions were excellent. Nothing!
- catherine (7/5): -

- Matt (10/5): From the checkin and food at the general store, to the amazing food at the pub, it wss a great start to our trip - Excellent accom, next door to a great pub with fantastic food. We will stay again
- Lesley (7/5): Good break had by all - Nice breakfast Cleaning every day
- Brenton (9/5): Superb -
- Grant (3/5): Disappointing from a customer service perspective. - The process for breakfast was challenging and inflexible The booking process and last minute changes were frustrating. Communication was not a positive experience.
- Muir (8/5): A great property for a group. Lovely outdoor area which captured the morning sun. A warm and comfortable house close to - The beds! So comfortable. Lighting in the dining room and ensuite. Very dim and both need some down lights.
A manual or welcome book with info on using electrics/oven etc in the house.
- Hasmik (10/5): Exceptional - The location was brilliant especially for our hike on the Riesling trail. The guesthouse was spacious and comfortable. Dinner at the Watervale hotel was amazing as was the breakfast and coffee at the general store. Warrick and Nicola were wonderful hosts. Highly recommended, we would definitely stay there again.
- David (9/5): Excellent location, great stopover on the Reisling trail very well set up for a larger group. - Excellent location next to the Watervale Hotel for dinner, great stopover on the Reisling trail and very well set up for a larger group (6 bedrooms for nine in our group was wonderful). Slightly dated furnishings, but still very comfortable.
- Patricia (10/5): Unfortunately not long enough stay - Accomodation was great beds comfortable easy acceable close to breakfast Suggestion safety barriers around bike racks
- Cusack (8/5): Excellent albeit short stay here. Highly recommend - Spacious. Well located .Fantastic breakfast included and the staff at the store were superb.
- Katrina (8/5): Very good - Could cater for large groups Probable needed 1 more toilet for the number of guests we had stay
- Vicki (10/5): Best overnight stay - should have stayed longer! - Guest house was roomy, very comfortable and perfect for 3 families. The Watervale Hotel meals and service are sensational- Warrick was so welcoming, accomodating and informative!
Very Highly recommend! Nothing!
- Edmund (10/5): Very enjoyable highly recommend! - Spacious Clean Comfortable
- Clancy (10/5): A fantastic relaxing weekend away with great food, and comfortable accommodation - Beautiful home. Great for a group of friends. Owners gave excellent advice on local food, wine and activities. Proximity to the Watervale Hotel, with some of the best food in the region (and Australia!)
- Carol (9/5): Superb - Comfortable beds. Lots of space. Breakfast arrangements were really good (great food) and dinner at the hotel fabulous (it really was all epicurean). Good communication with the managers. We would have like to have some milk. Other essentials were provided.
- Ashlee (10/5): Fabulous group getaway - Beautifully presented, great to find a place for a large group of adults to all stay together. Awesome location, friendly hosts, coffee machine, comfy beds and pet friendly!
- Katherine (9/5): Spacious, comfortable and homely guesthouse accommodation. - Spacious and clean accommodation. Comfortable bedding and lounge/dining furniture. Large, well stocked kitchen. Help yourself bowl of fruit, freshly cooked bread, jams, eggs and milk. Close proximity to Crabtree wines where we visited. Great breakfast included the following morning. We were happy with everything.
- Anne (10/5): Exceptional -
- George (7/5): The dinner at the hotel helped to compensate for the lack of warmth in the house which was very cold - We found the location very handy and the breakfast was delicious and generous. We also enjoyed the spectacular degustation dinner at the hotel. The day being cold, we found the house to be very cold and almost uninviting when arriving. Perhaps the airconditioner could have been put on at about 3pm to take the chill out of the house. We were disappointed that there were no electric blankets on the beds to help with taking the chill out of our bodies. We found we had to leave the airconditioner on all night to stave off the cold.
- James (8/5): Very good -
- A&k (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kathryn (8/5): Very good -
- Gaynor (9/5): Great location and great hosts - Very comfortable and well stocked with delicious provisions (including Gluten Free bread)
- Kay (9/5): Superb -
- Maureen (8/5): Very good -
- Feutrill (8/5): Very good - Location perfect, easy checkin and out, breakfast provisions & kitchen facilities were superb The outdoor setting could do with an upgrade & clean (wonky chairs filled with bird poo wasn't too inviting). The lounge room could do with a couple of extra comfy chairs for large groups
- De (8/5): A wonderful spacious home away from home, perfect for our stay and well priced for the Clare Valley. - Sourdough bread and home made butter was awesome, thank you. Milk, juice and oats plentiful.
Just some lovely country bacon would have been awesome.
Large house with plenty of space for our group of 4 adults and 2 kids. Fully equipped kitchen including a proper coffee machine with beans was very much appreciated for us caffeine addicts.
Towels and linen were great and soap, shampoo etc helpful to include too.
Beautiful old roses out the front and a large outdoor, fully fenced and private space out the back. Some of mattresses were a little soft and springy for us adults used to a much firmer sleep. Some may need replacing with latex style mattress better suited for short term stays.
- Large outdoor table and chairs - shame the chairs were full of bird droppings - would suggest buying a cover to the keep table and chairs clean.
- A larger SmartTV would be great
- Very comfy lounge, perfect for watching the AFL and NRL finals - however it is a little old and (very red) leather. Both recliners didn't work. Maybe a new L shaped lounge would better for the space and everyone would have a seat too.
- Susan (9/5): Comfortable, spacious, quiet stay - Spacious, great secure outdoor area for dogs Light blanket would have been appreciated
- David (10/5): Exceptional - The food items they provided were incredible - the bread and the smoked butter were stunning! The house itself was really cosy, yet we didn't feel like we were on top of one another. Location in the heart of the Clare Valley was also a massive plus, along with being attached to one of the best restaurants in the state.
- Carolyn (8/5): Very good - No outdoir heating, no fire pit.
- Bruce (9/5): Superb -
- Kate (8/5): Very good -
- Helen (10/5): fabulous 2 night stay with dinner at the restaurant next door staff so friendly. good access to the win region of Clare - location , comfort ,outside space all great
