Guest Reviews

- Amanda (10/5): A top place to stay in Ansons Bay and an amazing host. - This was a fantastic house to stay in in Ansons Bay. The house very easily and comfortably accommodated 6 adults. The kitchen, dining and living areas were very spacious and made us feel at home. Carol is an amazing host and very generously provided us with a bottle of wine and some home-baked bread on our arrival. She gave excellent information about suitable kayaking spots in the area.
- Narelle (9/5): -
- Cindy (10/5): Absolutely Fabulous - The BBQ and couches on the deck, relaxing in the beautiful tranquil surroundings and the swim in the bay.
The host went above and beyond to accommodate the 60 th birthday. We couldn't find anything wrong with the property, but the dirt roads were a bit corrugated.
- Keiri (10/5): Really enjoyable, shame about the unseasonably cold weather, but the house itself was perfect. - Host was great, met us at the property, clearly explained the area regarding walking trails etc. she baked muffins and bread. Only issue was the advertisement stated, second bulletin point, private beach. I then mistakenly assumed the property was on the water. When asked about the private beach the host said that was another property on the water.
- McKenzie (8/5): - great place and hospitality. host went above and beyond expectations weather wasn’t great but that has nothing to do with the property or host
- Jeanette (9/5): - Location is gorgeous - the cottage was very cosy, well set out for visitors, welcoming and the fresh bread was beautiful X
- Charity (8/5): -
- Mark (9/5): Banksia cottage really is in a remot paradise. - Banksia cottage was very comfortable with views of Ansons Bay through the gum trees.
We loved sitting on the couch on the covered verandah with just the birds for company.
The house now has wifi which was appreciated. There was nothing not to like.
- Kerrin (10/5): Anson's Bay cottage - Well set out, clean, comfortable beds. A freshly baked loaf of bread, lollies and wine as a welcome gift.
An outdoor covered deck with barbecue, plenty ok f seating, and view of the bay.
Lots of information provided on what to do in the area.
- Steve (10/5): An enjoyable stay with good activities for the time we were there - Excellent host and a very comfortable place to stay.
- sandra (10/5): A beautiful remote, natural environment to rest & enjoy - The property was cozy and had everything you could possibly need, but the best was Carol. Her advice especially walking trails gave me an experience I will never forget. I would not have been able to find that walk without her guidance.
- Jacinta (8/5): Anson’s Bay is a beautiful, remote place and Carol’s house is lovely to stay in. - It was clean, comfortable and warm. We would have liked laundry facilities.
- Vanessa (10/5): Peaceful - Carol was very warm and welcoming on arrival and has a wealth of information about the area being a local. The house was very well equipped and we were surprised with bonus welcome goodies that added that beautiful touch of Tasmanian hospitality Nothing. Highly recommend.
- Wiseman (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alison (8/5): Very good - Lovely warm, welcoming home after a day of exploring. Our host was keen to share information and facilities that would enhance our stay and very responsive to messages. My bed wasn't great..
- Kelly (3/5): Poor -
- Anthony (10/5): As above - My wife and I thought from the photos that the accommodation would be average however we were very pleasantly surprised. The photos underrated the accommodation. it has a big open plan accommodation with lounge room kitchen combined and the lounge room had very comfy seating and kitchen with its large table. The veranda/patio was large and relaxing to sit in and where we had breakfast and cups of tea The property is situated on a large block so parking with a large vehicle was no problem. We were booked for 2 nights (1 day). Carol meet us on arrival and gave us some goodies as there are no shops in close proximity except at st Helens Carol lives nearby which was good for us our one day was spent on the beach between Eddystone point and deep creek Absolutely lovely. Also Gladstone has one and only pub with a very good lunch /dinner. Barbara tony
- Raewyn (8/5): Very good -
- Carolyn (10/5): Lovely restful time. Everything we needed was there. Xx - It was lovingly prepared. Large living spaces. Lovely gifts on arrival. Carol is lovely and couldn’t be more helpful. Very happy. Thankyou x
- Stephen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brendon (10/5): Blissful peaceful perfection - We love staying here, we are repeat visitors and it fits like an oasis of calm, relaxation and rejuvenation. Carol is so thoughtful, from home-baked snacks and wine on arrival to tailored books with local information, she greets you with a smile and leaves you in peace. The property itself is perfectly set up to switch off (no mobile reception), read a book, have a glass of wine, and tell the rest of the world to go away for a while!! We will look back on our three nights in front of the roaring fireplace (it was ‘just cold enough’ to have it on) with extremely fond memories. If you are taking a pet, just watch out for the neighbour’s dog. There are no fences and so it spent a lot of time sniffing at our front door to get to our dog!
- Karen (9/5): Superb -
- Tanya (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rowland (8/5): Recommended - Large living room ideal for a group Lack of sunlight inside house
- Neridy (9/5): Superb -
- Helena (9/5): We had a lovely stay. - Excellent location to explore Bay of Fires, friendly welcome, warm wood fire with lots of wood available, kitchen set up was functional and well stocked.
- Helen (8/5): Very good - It had all the comforts of home No wifi and minimal phone connection
- Ros (10/5): Lovely and comfortable cottage in a quiet and peaceful small community. A very thoughtful and helpful host, thank you Ca -
- Johannes (9/5): Would I return? Most definitely! - Location - perfect. Very cosy and comfortable, and plenty of room for everyone. We really liked this place, and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone for an extended stay. Carol is an exceptional host, very friendly with lots of advice about the area, and provided free kayaks for our use. Would love to have more bench space in the kitchen - island bench maybe?
- P (8/5): Very good - Loved walking round the bay and over the dunes to remote beach
- Jennifer (9/5): Superb - Owner was great. Couldn’t be more helpful about the area and the house. Walk to the sea. Amazing sunrise. Wonderfully quiet spot.
House very comfortable, just like home.
Wonderful basket of goodies left for us. Minimal mobile reception.
- David (10/5): My daughter and I had a 2 night stay so we could explore the beautiful area. - Very clean and comfortable. Lovely quiet location.
- Melanie (9/5): Superb -
- Stephen (8/5): Go visit to see a remote part of Tasmania - Great location and fantastic help from Carol. The place is spacious and well equipped While all the carpets and floors and sheets were very clean there were a lot of cobwebs on the ceiling. Some of the furniture looks a bit tired
- Antoinette (6/5): Pleasant - not applicable Lovely bottle of wine as bonus
- Roland (10/5): Comfortable stay, a good base to explore the region. - (Group of 3 adults). The place was clean and well appointed. The beds are very comfortable (two Queen sized bedrooms off the kitchen/ dining area). The lounge area is huge, with a wood heater and plenty of firewood and a sofa for everyone. We didn’t need to utilise the upstairs bunk room (bunks for 3). A welcoming homemade treat (fudge) and bottle of wine. Expansive covered deck, big BBQ, great view. The bird life is entertainment alone. Lots of pillows, spare blankets. Tank water only, so be aware not to leave the taps running. No washing machine (probably to limit water use) so bring enough spare clothes for your visit. Good fishing at Policemans Point, spectacular walking along the ocean beaches via Mt William National Park. The property is excellent. Ansons Bay is a unique area.
- Carolan (8/5): Very good -
- Santosh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hennie (2/5): Very poor -
- Donald (8/5): Very good - The personal touch, bickies and wine gift basket, was like a home away from home. Good location for hiking and fishing Internet was a bit hit and miss but if you are like me it is probably a much needed break for you and the family.
- Bryan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Guillaume (9/5): Peace and tranquility - Spacious and quiet A bigger sink to wash the dishes
- Mengelle (8/5): Very good - Carol is very nice and we had a very warm welcome.
the house is very nice and cozy. my children didn’t like the no wifi… for me it was great we can play game all together.
- Tami (10/5): Exceptional family getaway - Awesome accommodation in a lovely quiet location. Was very clean, well kept with great service. Can't wait to return for our next holiday.
- Adrienne (10/5): Exceptional - Carol's welcome and hospitality are exceptional. The location is comfy and quiet for a beautiful relaxing getaway.
