Fruit tress, chickens & cats typical island cabals Ideal for sunset views and peaceful getaway (not really needed on the island!)9 Lovely to be surrounded by locals and a great experience wouldn’t change it! Renee is super lovely It was a good 20-30 minutes walk from the centre on the roads, 15-20 via beach. Made friends with taxi driver who would pick us up morning & nights so really not an issue

• Praphai (10/5): Séjour inoubliable, excellent Cabanãs ! - Nous sommes passés un excellent séjour de 6 nuits, 5 journées pleines à la Cabanãs Moai, la Cabanãs est bien équipée, très propre avec le balcon vue sur le Moai et la mer, très beau jardin, le lieu est paisible, reposant. Le ménage a été fait durant notre séjour. Le lit est confortable, la cuisine est également bien équipée. Le centre ville est à 10 mn à pieds, le chemin au long de la côte est très agréable en passant par le site de quelques Moai. René a rendu notre séjour encore plus agréable, il est très sympathique, serviable, a répondu très vite et à tous mes messages envoyés via WhatsApp. A notre arrivée, il nous a accueilli par des celliers de fleurs, nous a emmené faire les achats pour le passe du Parc national, les nécessaires pour la cuisine et nous a montré un peu de la ville. Merci infiniment René pour les colliers pour notre départ. Très bon rapport qualité prix pour le service si complet. Rien !
• Feng (10/5): I would love to go back - I picked Cabañas Moai as it is very close to the best site to watch sunset on the the island. What exceeded my expectation was there are lots fruit trees, bearing fruits, around the Cabaña. :) and I can see Ahu Ko Te Rik from the bed in the attic. The deck in the backyard is a very nice place to relax The owner, Rene, is very very nice and helpful. Best property owner I ever met. nothing.
• Luca (8/5): - Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Die Lage der Cabana ist traumhaft, der Gastgeber war extrem freundlich, hilfsbereit und jederzeit erreichbar. Hier fühlten wir uns willkommen. In der Cabana gibt es etwas zu viel Deko-Material und unnötiges Zeug, wodurch man leicht den Überblick im Zimmer verliert. Manchmal wär weniger mehr.

• Kathleen (10/5): Lovely island, lovely people, lovely stay. Rapa Nui will not disappoint! - It was a lovely location, with a lovely host. We kept the key in the door, and didn't lock up once, so this area and place is super safe. The cabana was comfortable, and had everything we needed. We didn't rent a car, but the stores, restaurants, beach, etc., are all really close. Rene showed us a back trail from our cabana, which was a short walk to the beach. We used this trail daily to go in and out, eat, shop, etc. It was all great!

• Marcelo Palacios (10/5): Beautiful Magical Place - Overall, the location is great, just a few minutes away walking to Ahu Tahai, where people watch the sunset. You have several Moais in that location, which is free and you don't need a ticket to visit. The owner of the cabanas picked us up at the airport and drove us to the cabana but also took us to buy the tickets, which you need to get access to the historical areas. Weather was great, but maybe if it would be hotter, an A/C might be needed. Maybe not. We were told that temperature is steady around 22-25 degrees celsius. I have nothing negative to say. We had a blast.

La vie simple et reposante Le propriétaire René est adorable, il est venu nous chercher à l'aéroport avec un joli collier de fleurs et nous a ramené avec un joli collier de coquillage porte bonheur. Nous sommes restés 5 nuits c'était génial !

Kitchen was well equipped, the shower was hot and the bed comfortable. Renee was the best host anyone could ask for!!! Picked us up at airport, helped with rental car, tours and restaurant recommendations. We will stay again! That we didn't stay longer !!!

He met us at the airport, which made getting to the property effortless, and during the drive he was a knowledgeable and friendly guide—pointing out essentials like the park ticket office, nearby grocery stores and restaurants, and even stopping at Ahu Tahai (just a five-minute walk from the property via a shortcut). Rene also provided excellent taxi contacts and guide recommendations that made planning our time on Easter Island simple and stress-free. The apartment itself is thoughtfully equipped for a comfortable stay and has everything you need to cook. A chilled bottle of water was waiting in the fridge when we arrived—such a considerate touch. Rene graciously allowed a late checkout and even drove us to the airport at the end of our trip. Overall, exceptional hospitality, a convenient location, and a well-appointed apartment. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Easter Island.

Mi cabaña tenía vista al mar un jardín precioso y a dos minutos del Tahai donde vi los atardeceres más hermosos de mi vida .. un viaje mágico en un lugar hermoso rebosante de naturaleza y buena energía . Lamentablemente no pude conectar el TV para poder ver Netflix lo cual los primeros días mi hija pequeña extraño pero fue finalmente una bendición para poder desconectarnos completamente
• Rachana (4/5): We checked the reviews on the Internet, but we become very disappointed with the overall staying.. - I like the owner of the property, very nice, friendly and helpful. The overall rooms feel dirty and dusty. Especially the shower, didn't work properly. Not well organized and not artistic at all. There are cockroaches everywhere. The cabin doesn't have AC and there were no ceiling fans. And there was no hairdryer. Rooms and overall atmosphere can be improved and make impressive.

• Liyike (10/5): Super warm host, cozy place, great tips, and a stay I’d totally recommend - René is honestly such a great host. He greeted us at the airport with a really warm welcome and offered airport shuttle. He also gave us super solid tips on guides and car rentals, anything you’d need on the island. The place itself is really nice. You get your own little cabin and the decor feels really cozy. I absolutely loved the balcony, it’s the perfect spot to just hang out and chill. I didn’t even notice there was a hammock, wish I’d tried it. I’d definitely recommend renting a car if you stay here. The place is super close to Tahai for sunset and there’s a shortcut that gets you there in just a few minutes, but having a car makes getting to restaurants and the town area way easier. Make sure to bring your own toiletries. And don’t skip the guavas in the yard, they were so good. I’d totally recommend this place to my friends.

• Macarena (10/5): Excepcional: hospitalidad, calidad y calidez - Excelente alojamiento y anfitrión excepcional. René nos recibió y nos llevó al aeropuerto tanto a la llegada como a la salida. Yo había reservado una cabaña y viajé con mis padres, ambos adultos mayores; al comentarle que uno de ellos tiene dificultades de movilidad, nos trasladó sin que se lo pidiéramos y sin costo adicional a una casa más amplia y cómoda para que estuvieran seguros y cómodos. Ese gesto marcó toda la estadía: siempre amable, respetuoso y muy atento a los detalles. Nos dejó fruta para consumir y nos orientó con sugerencias claras sobre qué visitar y dónde comer. La casa está en un entorno muy bonito y privado, rodeado de naturaleza y cerca de algunas atracciones principales. Llegar puede ser un poco complejo la primera vez, pero René deja instrucciones precisas y está disponible para ayudar. Además, confió plenamente en nosotros y cobró el último día, algo que habla de su calidad humana. Realmente el mejor alojamiento en el que he estado en todos mis viajes. Si vuelvo a la isla, lo elegiría nuevamente sin dudar, principalmente por René, un anfitrión que hace mucho más de lo necesario para asegurar una excelente estadía. Recomiendo 100% No es un punto negativo, pero conviene saber que no está tan cerca del centro. Si no arriendas auto, la caminata por la costa toma unos 20 minutos y por la noche la iluminación es limitada.

• susan (9/5): Wonderfully charming and comfortable cabin near stunning Tahai statue. - Rene, the host is incredibly kind and thoughtful. He handled airport transfers, and helped us with whatever we needed. When my husband hit his head, he came over with ice. When we needed help (given my lack of Spanish) with dance performance reservations he made it happen! He has furnished the Tahai cabin beautifully with lots of artisanal touches in a homey and welcoming way. We can't recommend it highly enough. We loved it because it was a 10 minute walk from town and quiet, but right near Tahai moai. If you don't want to walk into town (which is delightful) you need to rent a scooter/ATV or car to get to most restaurants.

The kindness of the host, the perfect location, the moaï in the garden or the peacefulness of this authentic Rapa Nui Cabaña ?.... Everything was perfect ! We stayed there 6 nights and didn't want to leave. Located 5mn away by walk from the beautiful Tahai moaï and only 20mn walk by the coast to reach the center of Hanga Roa. Māururu René, we will be back! Nothing, everything was great!

• D (9/5): Wonderful welcome and a fabulous experience - Rene kindly brought us from /to the airport in his car and treated us with gorgeous garlands. He patiently showed us around and helped with information about the places and culture of the island. In the kitchen we found enough to get us started plus lovely fruit in a bowl covered with a fresh hibiscus flower. The terrace had a hammock from which we could see a glimpse of the sea among the trees, and from the garden we could see the top hat of the eyed-Moai and receive visits from the local chickens. We loved the traditional and quirky wooden decor of the bungalow that enhanced the peaceful Rapa Nui experience in addition to the amazing location so close to the Tahai Moai, which are extraordinary at sunset. Not a lot, perhaps the shower could do with a bit of a re-fresher.

The cabin was very large and equiped with everything we needed. We really liked the style of it, and the bed was very comfortable. Rene was a great host, very friendly. He picked us up and dropped us off at the airport. Nothing, everything was perfect!

The outside space was very private and comfortable, a large covered wooden area with a lovely garden and sea view and a big table so we could have drinks or simple meals outside. Our host René was extremely helpful and friendly, providing information before we arrived and collecting and returning us to the airport. No complaints

He picked us up at the airport with flower leis, gave helpful directions and was a wonderful and helpful host. The rooms looked just like the photos and were super clean. Being only a 2 minute walk from Tahai made it all the more special Really an excellent value for the money. Everything was wonderful with the property and it is in a super private and quiet area. However there's a lot of chickens and roosters everywhere in Hanga Roa, so around dawn you will wake to many competing "cock-a-doodle-do's!!!" I'm an early riser so no issue for me, but consider bringing earplugs if you are a late sleeper!

The man who met us was very friendly and shared tips on how best to enjoy Easter Island. If I returned to the island, I'd definitely consider staying here again.
• Jill (9/5): Wonderful! - Wonderful host and wonderful location. This is a nice, big private place with a full kitchen and a huge deck with a view of the sea. We like a little space to settle in with, not a cramped hotel room, and we had plenty of room. We bought a few snacks at the store and a bottle of wine, and just enjoyed relaxing "at home." It's an easy walk to town, the museum and little shops and restuarants. The Moai in one of the free parks are just a minute or two away, and an excellent place to watch the sunset. Our host went above and beyond, helping me find a lost item at the airport. What a kind man! Highly recommend this facility1 Bring bug spray, it's hard to find on the island.
• Leon (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful wooden interior, huge space, comfy beds, free fruits, a sea view and have its own one of a kind moai (its carved out of red rock, thr head is in thr museum literally next door). Rene the owner is really helpful and friendly. It seems a little far from town but there is a shortcut if you are on foot, it only takes 5 minutes to get to Ahu Tahai, the famous sunset spot.

• Mat (10/5): An amazing place to stay. We travel a lot and it will count as one of if not the best stay we've had - Stayed in Jan for 5 days with my partner. We both loved this place. The property was spacious and full of character. It had an actual moai in the garden and a view of one of the bigger moai could be seen against the sea from the lovely balcony. Rene (the host) was extremely friendly and helpful and he kindly picked us up from the airport. The walk to the town was beautiful (and safe) and you passed the moai on the way. The sunsets there were incredible and there is a nice restaurant nearby. It would really be hard for it to have been better. The only (very) minor complaint was that the kitchen tap was a little leaky and that could be annoying.

• Yuxuan (8/5): Decent stay for groups - Nice property. Beautifully decorated. The host picks us up from the airport. Lots of cockroaches at night and in the house. Poor WiFi. Lighting in house could be improved.

• Dan (10/5): Wonderful place, wonderful Cabana, wonderful Host- memories will last a lifetime! :) - Rene was great, he picked us up from the airport, got a rental car for us, provided us with a single day tour and at the end of it all drove us back to the airport. I also happened to have lost my camera when in Hanga Roa, people from town and Rene worked quickly to assist in finding it, and we did! House was wonderful, as well as the tour he gave us. All was great!
• Anonymous (10/5): Easy and gorgeous island getaway. - the accommodations were very comfortable and had everything one would need for a great stay. the kitchen was fully stocked and the location provided easy access to the beach and other sights. Rene greeted us at the airport and he was always available with any questions we may have. Wifi and cell service was spotty but that was an issue all over the island.

• Sunandan (9/5): Superb - Fantastic views of sea and Moai; the cabin is decent sized for two persons with a kitchen, back porch, bedroom, bathroom and an attic bedroom accessible by a very steep ladder; shower is very good; Rene is an amazing host and arranged for airport pick-up and drop in his car, he also helped organise taxi, driver and guide for touring the island (the English-speaking taxi driver Cristobal and the guide Luis were very good, highly recommend them); his dog Mia is a well-trained, adorable pet who showed the short-cut to nearest Moai and restaurant Location was a little away from the centre of the town and inside a narrow lane with bad roads; very dark in the night with sparse street lights and lots of stray dogs so better to take a taxi from the town; there was no provision for any breakfast or other meals, so better to bring provisions from town and stock up; lights inside the cabin were not very bright for reading or working; mobile network was not very strong generally
• Mikel (9/5): Living like an islander for the week - This s a place for people who want to experience what it is like to live on Easrer Island There is no air conditioning and it was very hot inside when we arrived Rene, our wonderful host, immediately went to get us a fan but it was still pretty hot The breeze from the ocean cooled off the area at night so sleeping was not a problem ... but this is not a place for people who expect fancy USA amenities. That said the host was amazing sharing fruits from his trees and his knowledge of the area. He was very accommodating and checked to see if we were comfortable. The location, over a little rock fence, with a short walk to the water and town was so perfect for walks, sunsets, early morning swims, and trips to town.

• Sung (10/5): best cabin ever! - cabin has a nice view and has a short cut to ahu tahai.(3min walking) we enjoyed sunset in ahu tahai. host did guide for us with very reasonable price including a car. our family really enjoyed staying a cabin. we miss there already.
• Nevilletraveller (9/5): Excellent helpful owner and great accommodation location. - What you see in the photos, is exactly what you get. Large comfortable accommodation, with balcony/verandah which faces west towards the water fir the beautiful sunsets. But best of all is Rene, the owner and a local , he is so amazingly helpful. Forget all reviews and utube videos of you can walk and see everything yourself, that was true pre-Covid, now you need a guide [Local] to gain entry to all the major sites. Rene offered to be my private tour guide/taxi at a very reasonable price, We saw all the sites in one day. There are other sites, that are free and don't need a guide. Rene organised an english speaking taxi for me and he dropped me off at Rano Kau and I spent about 3.5hrs walking around the crater and visited Orongo. I walked along the coast line from the accommodation and reached Ana Te Pahu a cave [a lava tube] with 2 windows to the sea. I found the cave and had a brilliant time, on my return I came across an entry point further inland, where I should have had a guide for this adventure. The museum is 5 minutes walk from the accommodation, a must see and free. All OK.

• Amber (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing place to stay! Hosts were incredibly friendly, Rene picked us up and took us to the airport and they even left us some wine for the holidays. The house is beautiful, spacious and comfortable. Location is super remote and quiet, but you can take a short cut through the field and be in town in a quick 10-15 minute walk! Great porch to hang out and relax. Couldn't recommend it more!!
