Guest Reviews
- Dirk (8/5): Alles gut - Gut Nichts

- Désirée (8/5): Ein wirklich süßes Haus in toller Umgebung - Liebevoll eingerichtet. Sehr viel Platz!
Es gab nichts was gefehlt hat. Hunde sind auch willkommen - was heute nicht selbstverständlich ist.
Übergabe des Schlüssels war sehr liebevoll und freundlich
- Martina (5/5): Lovely area - The location is very convenient and easily accessible. The village is lovely with a really interesting history. A week before the start of the stay, I was informed that a €200 deposit was required. There’s no mention of this in the booking.com info but it should be. As a visitor from England, I would have incurred bank charges and exchange rate fees so probably not booked the property. There was also a lengthy form to fill in which I tried to do on my phone as we were already on our travels. Unfortunately, the filled in form did not get sent to the owner who was not very happy about this when we arrived. We filled the form in and gave the deposit in cash.
The water in the property was only luke warm but we didn’t complain as it was summer. The boiler then stopped working altogether on the 3rd morning so we were unable to shower for 2 days. The owner sent out a maintenance man but the boiler needed replacing which only happened after we left. The communication around this issue could have been handled better. A request for for a night’s compensation was met with a No from the owner.
I had emailed that we would be bringing our dog when I booked the property, but the owner had not noted this down and later accused us of bringing the dog in unannounced. The fee of €7/ night was waived when we pointed out that we had booked the dog in. We cleaned the house thoroughly before leaving to ensure that there was no extra cleaning required as a result.
The dog found a serviette under the bed in the downstairs bedroom and also a discarded lighter.
One of our group lives in Germany and the deposit was returned after 12 days via a bank transfer so we were not out of pocket.
- Rodolphe (8/5): A spacious house ideal to accommodate family with children, close to restaurants. -
- Lynda (7/5): We spent more time out than in. Very quiet area. - Quiet area. Except for the church bells. House approx 100mtrs from church yard. Everything was ok. Microwave unfortunately didn’t work. Fridge had no freezer.
- Lone (9/5): Lots of space and great wifi close to quiet town and beautiful nature - A big house very clean with plenty of rooms to sleep in and relax in (two living rooms / four bedrooms). Liked the fact that the parents could stay be ourselves in the big master bedroom on groundfloor and the teenagers had their own space on first floor. Wifi connectionwas great in every room.
Lovely terasse where we had breakfast in the morning sun and enjoyed our summerevenings. A glimpse of afternoon sun in front of the kitchen as well. There was all sort of things provided: towels, cottonbuds, hairdryer, shampoo etc., umbrella, spices, coffee, charcoal for the grill and more. When we arrived we were welcomed by two lovely and informative ladies who showed us around and who were very flexible regarding changing the bedding to fit our needs.
A small quiet town as we like it. Grocery stores, bakery and a few cheap restaurants (went to Born’s diner twice) within 5-10 min walk. Also a farmacy, a great second hand shop, a patesserie. Lake for swimming 15 min walk away (no dogs allowed). The area is great for walks and bicycling - the Komoot app is a must. Many beautiful swimming lakes nearby. Dogs are not allowed in the water or on the official “beaches”, but in Ascheberg by the Plön sea there is a stretch next to the public beach where dogs can play and go in the water. Very shallow which was good for the dogs but not suitable if humans wants to go swimming 😉. Belauer lake was really clear and wonderful sandy and deeper. Recommend Arche Warder if you like a different “zoo”. A place for european threathened livestock in a very beautiful landscape - especially the many different pigs were adorable.
We could easily return to this house! We only have a few things that could have been better. The oven takes a really long time to warm up and was hard to keep warm enough. We missed a small freezer. The microwave oven was hard to figure out - a manual would be nice. We missed a few things in the kitchen like a chiefs knife, a grater and a stick blender.
The frontdoor is tricky to unlock and we would like to have an extra set of keys when the familiy split up during day.
It would be great if the outside area was fenced so that the dog could go outside without having to be watched.
There is a kindergarden behind the house and that gives some noise during daytime ofcourse. We were not bothered much since we went off for daytrips and returned when the kindergarden was closed.
