Guest Reviews
- Helena (9/5): - Comfortable beds No coffee machine
- Susan (9/5): -
- nicola (8/5): - Location close to info centre, rental bikes, pub, trail heads.
- Meares (10/5): - It was a lovely house a d would definitely stay again
- Vezo (10/5): -
- Teresa (5/5): - The house was comfortable. The outside area of the house looked derelict. The back area was not safe for children. The patio was partly pulled down with tape around it. It was very disappointing for me and my family.
- Ben Pitcher (10/5): Home away from home đĄ - Family friendliness and great decor. It feels like staying in a very comfortable home.
- Maira (10/5): - Very clean and close to cafes
- Andrea (8/5): Lovely, peaceful and convenient location in town. - Beautiful big house and backyard with all the amenities. Perfect for a large family!
- Anna (7/5): We had a fabulous family weekend away, thank you. - Location was excellent.
Spacious property.
Bathrooms were nice and clean. The bbq and outdoor table & chairs were not clean. We couldnât use bbq. There were no spare bin bags, only a tiny amount of washing up liquid & only 3 tbags. There was no kitchen cloths so hard to clean surfaces. Some of the gas stove tops didnât work. There was no baking trays. Only a few small things that would have just been handy. But overall a fabulous stay.

- Mccarroll (8/5): The home was very very comfortable. Highly recommend this stay Close to Town walking distance and to riding tracks - Great size. Bigger than expected. Bedding comfortable and warm. Fire place was very warm. Kitchen was excellent. Flowers were beautiful. Hard to locate the number on the property. Also number lock is inside the screen door. Silly me could not find it.
- Toby (7/5): -
- Maryanne (9/5): -
- Nicholas (9/5): Lots of room. - Great house, lots of room. Quiet street. Near everything in the town.
- Caroline (9/5): Perfect accommodation beautifully presented. - It was spotlessly clean, well appointed with nice linens. The location was perfect. No bedside lights in the 2rd/3rd bedroom and we couldnât get the tv to work at all, do we missed the rugby. But to be fair, that may have just been our own inability to work it out!
- Patreen (10/5): Great. - N/A Nothing
- Gerard (6/5): Handy location for walks. - Great location for walks and the Hotham Railway. Accommodation was comfortable. The amenities were good, but knowing what consumables the visitor is meant to bring would be welcome. Although clean, the property is quite run down in parts. The outside wooden gazebo and side awning are made from wood and are quite rotten and leaning. The gardens are very overgrown and in desperate need of pruning. With some love and attention, it could be spectacular, but as it is, one feels little motivation to sit out.
- Mort (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jason (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sue-ellen (10/5): Very relaxing! - Accommodation was very comfortable, and relaxing. Close to everything and within walking distance to the train, shops etc. I was very happy with everything.
- Lisa (4/5): Average house in a great location. - The property is in a great location with the cafes and tourism venues within walking distance.
Main bedroom and ensuite are new and spacious. We came in the heat wave and the only air conditioner was in the kitchen dining. Also we had a power blackout for one night too. We left early after only 3 days.
House is old and needs renovating.
The lighting in the kitchen dining was inadequate. Hostess was quick to respond and electrician came the next day.
We expected to cook but cooking implements such as frypan were old and unsafe.
Furniture was not too comfortable.
Garden was uncared for.
- Debra (8/5): We all really enjoyed our stay and the location was great and easy to find - The house was extremely homely with everything you needed for your stay. The outdoor gazebo needed a bit of work
- Stuart (8/5): Very good - Facilities and location very good. Would even cope well with a larger group. It was unfortunate that power was lost for a substantial time, not anyone's fault. The yard could do with a tidy up to improve overall presentation.
- Christina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michele (10/5): Perfect for our needs - It was a lovely place to stay, beautifully decorated and the beds were so comfortable. Close to supermarket, pub and cafes Nothing
- Robyn (8/5): Comfortable - It was very clean and comfortable. Location is excellent. Facilities would suit a family beautifully. It would be convenient to have bedside lamps in the minor bedrooms.
- Ken (5/5): Great location but poorly maintained and insecure house. - Great location within walking distance of the shops and hotel. The house is large and spacious. This place looks like it has had very little maintenance on it. Gardens were not maintained and with a slippery downward sloping step in the front yard, not safe for anybody with mobility issues.
There was a code entry on the front door but you could come in the side sliding door that had a missing lock - very insecure.
The slide sliding doors had no blinds or curtains so heat escaping was an issue. It had air con in the kitchen at one end of the house but nothing at the other end of the house where it was cold. There was a wood heater at the same end of the house as the air con but only with a large log and newspaper. There was no kindling or firestarters so the fire could not be used.
- Sarah (9/5): Home away from home - Very spacious, excellent location We werenât able to get good reception on the tv, but that isnât the reason we went to Dwellingup so it wasnât an issue
- Melissa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chez (8/5): A great stay &location for us to attend Jarrahdale Bush Camp - Large and spacious allowing privacy
Quirky mix of new and old but quite comfortable. We had 3 generations staying overnight. Shame they only stayed the 1 night. Perhaps the gardens could have been a little tidier but being rural and winter with lots of rain we do realise itâs a difficult task. Paving and paths could be made a little safer for walking and kitchen lighting very poor.
- Susan (9/5): Great for a family weekend away - This is the second time staying here as the location is perfect and it accommodates perfectly for a family of five!
The bed is extremely comfortable in the main bedroom and there certainly wasn't any complaints about the other beds either. Great location to everything and for watching the train go past. Only two little things would make this a ten out of ten for us ...better water pressure in the shower and a non fixed shower head. But this would not stop me from staying again or recommending the place to others đ
- Christl (8/5): Very comfortable and right in town -
- Sue-ellen (10/5): Exceptional - The house was very comfortable & cosy. Lovely fire in lounge. Enjoyed sitting outside & loved we could walk everywhere. Excellent location! Loved everything.
- Warren (7/5): Good -
- Renee (5/5): Passable - Fantastic location Needs to be checked over lamps not working, remote batteries not working, patio very dirty, no hand soap or detergent just needs a thorough going through to make sure everything is ok
- Michelle (7/5): Cozy, comfortable, warm. - It had everything we needed- comfy beds, lots of couch space, warmth, clean, cozy. There was no kindling or firefighters/newspaper to start the wood heater with. I tried cutting some wood (it was handy having the axe available to use) but could only cut so much.
- Nicole (10/5): Exceptional - Great house with most faciltities Would have been nice to have some wood for the fireplace
- Sharon (7/5): Cute little cottage - Very spacious, great location, comfy bedrooms and beds. Host was responsive.
Easy access to town site.
We loved the gardens and outdoor space Advertised wood fire and no wood provided, very disappointed as this was one of the reasons we selected the property.
Lounge furniture needs updating,
Hot water was only luke warm, being a cold and stormy week, the water needed to be hoter.
- Carmen (8/5): Very good -
- Charmaine (8/5): Nice short break away - Shani was a great host. Booking was easy and communication was great. The house was comfortable and spacious. The only negative feedback we have is there was no wood/fire lighters etc to light the wood heater. It would have been good if that was all there ready to go. Also no dustpan/vacuum cleaner that we could find.
- Courtney (10/5): Exceptional - The house it's self was fantastic, đ Absolutely nothing, everything was perfect
- Janeth (10/5): Exceptional - The house was very clean and close to cafes Everything was ok
- Maggie (10/5): Exceptional - Loved the size of the house. The location is perfect. In the town site. All great
- Susan (8/5): Perfect weekend getaway - The property is very well located so you can leave your car parked up and walk everywhere. The garden area was lovely with a cute little seating area towards the back which was just perfect for sitting and having a glass of wine when we first arrived. The bedrooms are all really nicely furnished and the bed in the main bedroom was super comfy and there were no complaints from our friends who stayed too.
Very nice, relaxing little getaway and wouldn't hesitate to recommend or stay again. As we were there in August we used the wood fire so it would have been nice if it had been cleaned out from the previous guests and if a broom or vacuum was available.
- Meaghan (10/5): excellent place to stay - clean and well appointed
- Bill (8/5): Very good -
- Julie (8/5): Very pleasant short stay accomodation well located - Clean and well set up
- Carolyn (9/5): Superb -
- Kate (10/5): Perfect winter get away with friends. - Fabulous location - right in town but very quiet. The house was clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped. Loungeroom was perfect for quiet evenings chatting by the fire. We were a group of girlfriends but it would also be very suitable for families or three couples with a couple of kids. We were there on a couple of very cold nights and it was cold in the bedrooms - Wood heater and air con both in the living area but the heat didn't get down to the bedrooms. Electric blankets would have been a great addition. A gas lighter, some sticks or firelighters would have been nice to enable us to light a fire on arrival (a very short walk to the shop meant we could buy firelighters and matches so easy to remedy but it would have been a nice touch).
- Jenny (9/5): A great place to visit during the winter. Hotham Valley train is exceptional. - Central location with access to the local hotel for dinner and main street full of local art and eateries. Everyone we met, advocate for their town and recommend places to visit. Drier wood and kindling for the fire place!
- Julia (10/5): Well worth it, will use it next time we have work down that way, if it's available! - My worker loved it. He used the fire and said he could easily live there :)
- Katja (7/5): Very well located could be perfect with a few minor tweaks. - Very well located Hot water was not really hot enough. Especially given how cold the weather was. The presence of the wood stove was great except there was no wood so we couldnât use it and there was no other source of heating so we were very cold. Also, the PIN code I was given by booking.com was wrong so I had to call the owner. There was a stressful 20 minutes or so during which I didnât think we were going to be able to get in at all, with 2 young children desperate for the toilet and a change.
- Jodi (9/5): Superb - Beautiful house
Well equipped and excellent central location
- Libet (8/5): We enjoyed the peace and quiet and having a log fire. The house was warm and cosy. - Very close to pub, general store ansd tourist bureau. There were no food supplies other than salt and pepper. Usually things such as milk, tea and coffee are provided. Would also have liked some cooking oil as pans are not non-stick.
The wood for the fire box was appreciated but some of the pieces were too big for the fire box.
- Nisha (8/5): Very good -
- Jacquie (8/5): Very good - Home was comfortable and easy walk to Hotham Railway and town centre
- Carolyn (8/5): Very good -
- Cdfitz73 (8/5): Relaxing Clean Enjoyable - The vibe was welcoming and great quality linen
- Shanae (9/5): Superb -
- Nina (8/5): Very good -
- Lesley (10/5): was so relaxing and peaceful - itâs is so awesome and just love the area and the house .
- Hendrik (8/5): Very good -
- Linda (7/5): inside very comfortable but outside needs some work - good location outside and gazebo area needs a good clean
- Danielle (9/5): Superb -
- Elliot (8/5): Very good -
- Saarah (9/5): Superb -
- Elise (9/5): Superb - Kitchen was great, spacious and provided quite a few basics. Some of the outside facilities were a little run down, but we didn't use them.
- Robyn (9/5): Exceeded our expectations - it was quiet, clean, well stocked and plenty of room
- Sushma (9/5): Country charm in a great location - Chuditch Holiday House is a charming place. Spacious and light filled, it has the comforts and vibes of a lived-in home.
Great location... Within walking distance to the cafés, grocery store, visitor centre and start of Bibbulman Track.
The bed is super comfortable. And the art work and tastefully arranged fresh flowers made it extra special for us.
- Susan (9/5): Fantastic location. .Enjoyed sitting in the garden watching the birds -
- Leah (10/5): Exceptional - Great house in very convenient location. The beds were so comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. Kids didn't like no WiFi or streaming services but it was quite nice not to have it as an option!
