- Donna (10/5): - Great location. Great views of the ocean. The decking has nails sticking up from the wood, we pushed them back down but they kepted popping up again. Some of the wood needs replacing some much needed maintenance. 3 of us caught our feet on the nails sticking out of the decking.
House was not overly clean. BBQ hadn't been cleaned.
- Crystal (7/5): Great little beach shack - We loved the location, it is walkimg distance to the cafe, beach, river and petrol station. There is a lovely playground and park right across the road. Great for kids and families. Cute little beach shack. Beautiful view and cool breeze. Kitchen was well equipped. Comfy beds and pillows. No dishwashing liquid or sugar (had to buy some)
Not much toilet paper or tea towels
Would have been good to have bathroom and toilet mats
The TV wasn't a smart TV
No soap provided, I have a soap business and would be happy to supply some mini soaps for your guests
- Jessica (7/5): Nice, cozy, great location - The location I thought I was going to break the front door trying to open it, took us awhile to open it as we were scared we’d damage it as it gets stuck on the wooden flooring. Also it was a bit of a hazard in the bathroom with the shower being free standing, water pooled in the whole bathroom as well as toilet. Definitely need to suggest bringing a bath mat for safety reasons.

- Charmaine (4/5): Requires some maintenance. - Location was close to where we wanted to be. Front steps had quite uneven limestone blocks to get over before ascending and no banister.
Front door was so difficult to open due to weathering. Scraping over decking and requiring a lot of force to open. Not safe as I couldn’t do it once inside and required my partner to open and close it.
- Colley (3/5): - Location The leaking roof
Cockroaches in the bed and around the house
Bbq dirty
Just general maintenance was terrible I understand it was a shack but I shouldn't be getting wet when I'm cooking my breakfast
Not enough Cleaning facilities one broom one mop
- Luke (7/5): Good -
- Paul (3/5): Poor - the view was nice the house could do with some serious repairs, lite a bathroom door that closes, clean bedding and towels provided, the money asked it was very disappointing, boy our boys hurt there feet on the nails sticking out of the veranda
- Bianca (10/5): Exceptional - It had a cosy vibe with a beautiful view!!
- Viv (2/5): Disappointed - Location was good. The place had all that was needed altho was not clean.. lots of spiders and webs.. the lime stone blocks at entrance were uneven and unsafe as were the stairs to the balcony. No railing to hang onto. Booked for 2 nights but only stayed one.
- Dani (7/5): Good -
- Sally (4/5): Disappointing - The ocean view and location The kitchen two, no plug in laundry, the bathroom/toilet area, the dirty dishes, the cobwebs near bed, dusty.
No flyscreen on a window, so couldn’t open for sea breeze, exceptionally hot unfortunately
- Fiona (5/5): Great view, good location, family type beach shack but charging too much - Beach shack vibe with ocean views Cobwebs, doors that don’t lock, charging far too much for a beach shack, dusty
- Beverly (4/5): Beautiful town but would not rent this property again. - Location Property is poorly maintained and quite dirty.
The bathroom vanity is a laundry trough and I had to clean the fish scales out of it before use. The mattress protectors were dirty. The house needs a thorough clean. The kitchen tap was completely broken off and after numerous attempts to contact the manager/owner, I received a message via booking.com apologising however he would not be able to get a plumber. We washed dishes in the laundry sink.
- Shannon (6/5): The perfect getaway by the sea. - The house is in a prime location, the kitchen was well equipped and the property had everything we needed. There was no hot water which was a massive inconvenience. We had to have cold showers and boil the kettle to do dishes. The management were kind enough to allow us to use the bathroom nextdoor but again that was awkward. It was like camping except we had a house and facilities at our fingertips. As the trip is an annual tradition, we certainly won't forget this one 😉
We of course do realise these unexpected things happen.
- Yancey (7/5): Good -
- Tinè (2/5): Disappointing - The front door doesn’t stay shut unless locked. The back door doesn’t open. Windows don’t shut properly let alone lock. Smoke alarms are not connected which is illegal. Everything is uncomfortable from the beds to the couch to the sticky dinning table in the kitchen. The oven and bench top oven is filthy. The house doesn’t appear to have been cleaned well in a long time. Dusty and stale smelling. Tripping hazard at the back door with the sunken paving and limestone blocks at the base of the stairs out the front. The bathroom floods when someone has a shower. Fans in the bedroom have an inch thick layer of dust on them. Cobwebs and dead bugs around the house and to top it all off mice into all our food of a night time. Balustrade is not safe and is not legal. We expected a cute little old shack but not an exposed asbestos house that is in need of a deep clean and desperate for a maintenance overhaul. Pictures online don’t even match the house. Misleading and not worth the money we spent.
- Andrea (3/5): Wouldn’t stay again with our parents as it wasn’t right for them but is fine for a bunch of young people. - Location Not very clean, having to bring own linens and towels, felt the stairs and verandah were unsafe.
- Leah (3/5): Very mediocre - Location and view were great. No fly screens on the doors and most windows to allow air flow. The 2x pedestal fans were not very effective. The deck could do with some maintenance.
- Pauras (6/5): overall good experience but not price worthy - location nice, facilities/amenities are good , sea view very old house and dusty smells in beds, spiders webs, no air conditioning!
- Jason (9/5): we enjoyed a great stay with the family and will more than likely be back in the future - keys were in the exact location described and lock box was easy to open door at rear was a little tight to open
- Yu (1/5): If the place is clean, it is a good place. - The fridge is new. The linen is costing extra $50. The whole place is dusty and dirty. We tried to suit ourselves at the place. We spent 2 hours making the beding and clean the kitchen. There are insects and cockroaches. The shower water is too small. We stand all the time because we dare not to sit on any sofa or dinning table. We have allergy and feeling very uncomfortable that night. It has ruined our holiday. The host definitely know his place and said it worth the price you paid for. I tried to explain old house is not a problem but it must be clean.
- David (9/5): A good place to stay in Guilderton! - Great location and clean Shower water pressure
- Jana (5/5): The place has very simple arrangements, shower is not good. Bbq is not working properly. The weekend we stayed was just - Best location ever 🙌 Location
- M (10/5): Exceptional - Brandis beach house was undergoing repairs and Sunset Coast beach houses upgraded us to a larger house, Gabaddah house two houses down. The street is lovely and literally opposite a large park and 5 mins walk from the shop and beach. We had a lovely stay and are so grateful for a restful weekend. We have teenagers and they loved going round with their scooters and going down to the river. It is the perfplace for teenage families. Nothing!
- Mark (1/5): DO NOT BOOK THIS HOUSE This place is an absolute joke, - Nothing, it was disgusting 🤮, smelly rodent infested dive, dirty dirty place Holes in the walls for the rodents to come & go. Dirty plates & cups, dirty linen in drawers. Puddle on the bathroom floor from the leaking toilet, broken unusable heater, no fire safety & visible burnt electrical plugs.
- Scott (1/5): Overpriced dangerous derelict cold. - Zero “Without Prejudice”
The fact this dilapidated incorrectly described mouse riddled hovel is put up on line is a joke. The first minute my grandson had a nail go through his foot before we had even unlocked the door. The dangerous steps and decking need replacing. The host simply handed me a hammer to fix the sticking up nail’s myself. We had mice scurrying in the walls at night. No bathroom just a shower head out of the wall in a laundry area with a laundry trough for a sink. The bbq is old and on an angle so good luck. Actual soiled girls undies visible at base of bed. The most overpriced dirty dangerous hovel we have ever paid to stay in. Not a single apology or effort was made by the host. 😡😡
- Anonymous (8/5): nice family holiday home, just not very clean. - great location and house was great for our needs. Also really appreciate we could bring our pet spoodle. only that us was dusty and the carpets were filthy. the vacume cleaners on site did not work well at all.
- Stephanie (10/5): Awesome - Everything
- Jay (7/5): Good - Location and sunsets on the deck were amazing. Beds were comfy and refrigerator great size. Kitchen amenities were very handy Dust everywhere , dishes not very clean, mouse droppings and rubbish all under pull out sofa. Fans could use with an upgrade / clean , one had hardly had any power to it
- Wendy (6/5): Pleasant -
- Cassidy (8/5): Very good -
- Stuart (7/5): Great little house for a holiday experience. Not new but it's comfortable. - I liked the quiet street and that it wasn't too far from the beach. There's also a good park right opposite for the kids to play in. The house was breezy and cool. No fault of the house but the mobile phone reception with both Optus and Vodafone in that location is horrendous and there is literally 96% of the time no reception at all and no data too. So make sure you bring along a Telstra sim.
