Guest Reviews

- Kamil (10/5): Super nice experience - Super cool view and atmosphere. We were prepared for cold (which was a fact but once you have that in mind it doesn’t bother much, especially with very thick blankets provided), basic amenities available, Fairly clean provided it has a fire place;). Comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen, nice and helpful owners. I can also see they take feedback seriously- a lot of things mentioned by previous travelers have now been fixed /added. Could do with few bags of tea to warm up in the cold surroundings
- David (10/5): Posibles cambios - El clima Posibles cambios

- Guest (10/5): Relaxing! - The views are incredible! The house is fully equipped, and communication with the owners was easy and attentive. We appreciated the peace and privacy of the location, and the comfortable linens. -
- scott (10/5): Awesome experience - location and the property was clean and cozy. Even supplied firewood for our fireplace, which was needed. its was very cold at night up in the mountains. the view was spectacular. Only thing the original map point sent us to the wrong place. easily resolved with a text to and from the host.

- Marek (10/5): Exceptional - nice location in the heart of the mountains, friendly owners and absolute privacy.
- Ketty (10/5): Exceptional - We had a very nice stay in the cabin!
- Antje (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marcial (10/5): Exceptional - If you are looking for a view, pick #1... However both are very well equipped, good location, restaurant is quite close, good prices and it is part of the family business, oh and Paloma will be always around 😄
- Ana (10/5): Exceptional - Muy bonita
- Mark (10/5): Lovely place. - The cabin is beautiful and in a lovely location. Quiet at night and in the morning, with just the sound of nature. The beds are comfortable and plenty of blankets available. The open fire is also lovely. The cabin is spacious and cosy. Internet was also good as was the TV. My only suggestions would be a small electric heater to provide some quick heat before the fire gets going as it can get chilly at night and if you arrive late like we did, then I think it would help.
Also a small canister of coffee would be a great addition. Other than that it was perfect.
- Corneliu (7/5): Good -
- Alex (10/5): Exceptional - There were lots of warm blankets and some firewood to help keep warm.
- Julie (10/5): Cozy cottage getaway - We loved the location in the highlands of Costa Rica, right off the Interamericana near the Tapanti and Quetzales national parks. The cool mountain air is a refreshing change from the beach, and the cabina had a full kitchen and everything we needed for a short stay.
- Fiorella (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent place to disconnect from everything. The weather was very nice. Nature is always the answer I liked everything about the place
- Kappelhof (8/5): Nice cabin with beautiful panorama in the mountains - Beautiful view at 2500m altitude. Nice cabin with fireplace which was needed. It was cold at night and the blankets were very useful. Good wifi and friendly host. It was a fine experience The comfort of the beds could be better and we advise a water kettle for making tea.
- Alex (9/5): Superb -
- Birger (9/5): Superb - Complete cottage in the mountains View and location
- Thais (9/5): Superb -
- Zimmer (9/5): Our stay gave us a much needed break from the Costa Rician heat and allowed us to see a different part of the country. - Beautiful surroundings and great little cabin. There are paths through the woods to explore the property and great mountain views. Everything was great.
- Karen (8/5): Very good - Good for birdwatching. Peaceful. Could use better lighting in the cabin for the evening.
- Witold (10/5): Great, independent mountain style cottage. - Beautiful location, plenty of space to sleep, relax, have meals plus great views. Very helpful staff that visited the house while we were away and prepared fireplace for us after we used wood the day before. Perfect location to explore Savegre forest and this area. In the cottage we found a contact to very good, profesional birdwatching guide. It was a bit cold at night but it was ok. There were many blankets to keep you warm at night.
- Aguilar (10/5): Exceptional -
- Thais (9/5): Superb -
- Savannah (5/5): Passable - The view in the morning was beautiful The bed was very uncomfortable. The host did not explain ahead of time that I was to go directly to my cabin. He had just left the key in the door
- Ludmila (9/5): Very cozy wooden lodge. - The view from the lodge was stunning! Very cozy, wooden lodge. I can only recommend. It was very cold and windy during the night, but there were blankets and fireplace. Amazing atmosphere of the place.
- Berm (9/5): We enjoyed our stay at this cabin very much! - I really the wooden cabin construction and the location is close to the cloud forest preservation area’s with lots of birds. The cabin is also located on a steep mountain side and has excellent views of the valley below. The wood fireplace is a really nice touch as it does get cold up there so you will want some heat. The fireplace is the only source of heat so bring warm clothes. The beds are warm as they have lots of blankets you can use. I recommend this cabin to all travellers! 👍🏻
- Ellen (10/5): Exceptional - The location and views are spectacular. Be prepared with sweaters and potentially a lack of hot water (we had hot water one day but not the next). Bring your own ingredients to cook or plan to eat out. Cute market a short walk away.
- Fiorella (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maia (8/5): Cute cabin - Very cute cabin in the middle of nowhere but very handy for a one night stop crossing from caraibs coast to the Corcovado.
Confortable, fire place lovely and loads of blankets.
Kids loved this adventure, lost in the wood cabin experience There are 2 cabins and unfortunately we got the one with no view. So when booking, ask for cabin 1 if you want the beautiful view.
It's very cold but blanket were provided
- Anjara (9/5): Rustic cottage in a beautiful silent landscape - Rustic beautiful wooden cottage in the mountains. The view is fantastic, the air is fresh, the owners are very nice. There is a basically well-equipped kitchen and there's a TV that even shows English programmes 😉. The blankets and the fireplace, which was already burning when we arrived, helped against the chill of the night. All in all, a great place for people who want to enjoy nature and silence. The bathroom unfortunately does not get warm even with the fireplace, it was very uncomfortably cold. The shower does not get hot, only lukewarm. I personally found the mattress not very comfortable.
- Huib (9/5): Superb -
- Nora (7/5): We were chilly the whole time, but we loved the location! - Hummmm… I tend to not say negative things…. but, since it is in the mountains where it can be chilly and wet a heater of some sort would have made our stay more comfortable. There was some fire wood but most of the heat went up the chimney. and the wood only last a few hours. An electric tea pot would be good to make hot water - not everyone is a coffee drinker. There was no hot water - or so very little the shower was cold in a cold cabin - so again we were uncomfortable. The little space was lovely, the view and the birds spectacular and the owners did the very best and promptly to care for us…. we ran out of cooking fuel and they delivered more right away! We never met them. We did love it there.
- Ricardo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Urska (9/5): Superb - Great little house in the mountains. Not really signed great where it is - just go right after the Cafe and down the hill. Made of wood, cozy feeling, you can even start a fire. It can get really cold at night, so you have extra warm blankets. Poor isolation and wind wooshing through the walls.
- Daniel (9/5): Superb - The cottage is comfy. The location is really difficult to find. You need a four wheel drive to reach it. Dogs barking constantly all night made sleeping hard.
- Chellis (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (10/5): Lovely mountain lodge - Lovely views, cosy, log fire crackling away when we arrived, incredible sunrise over the hills, comfortable beds.
- Aaltje (10/5): Nice view - Lovely little cabin with a nice view. Two bedrooms and a living. Big enough for a family of 6, there are two bunk beds an he a double. It's cold though, if you're used to Costa Rican climate, since it is in a cloud forest up high. Quit hard to get there, make sure you arrive by daylight WITH supplies. At the main road there's a little bakery where you can buy coffee and bread but for dinner make sure you took something from a supermarket before you arrive.
