Guest Reviews
- susan (10/5): Great base to walk to the beach cafes shops really enjoyed our stay - Property is very comfortable and cosy Excellent location for two people and our dog.
- Leonie (7/5): Noice - Location
- Victoria (10/5): Fabulous property with everything you need in a great location. Excellent communication with owner. - Excellent property for our two night stay. Loved the well equipped kitchen and coat lounge with gas log fire. The bedroom and en-suite upstairs were lovely. Nothing it really was perfect
- Vanessa (10/5): Beautifully presented clean & cozy accommodation with walking distance to all amenities - Comfort & location Nothing
- Nunthaphan (10/5): A cosy, family-friendly stay in a peaceful and charming setting. - We had a lovely 2-night stay at the Coach House in Port Fairy. The cottage was very clean, cosy, and beautifully maintained with a charming, homey feel. It was perfect for a family getaway, with plenty of space and a relaxing atmosphere. The location was also great—quiet but still close to everything we needed. Nothing major to mention—everything was comfortable and met our expectations.
- Judith (10/5): A return stay which did not disappoint - As this was our second stay at this delightful cottage we were well prepared to spend three days in blissful comfort while visiting the Port Fairy Folk Festival. Once you have tasted the delights of this lovely place and stayed in this cottage, you will be back for more. Everything was absolutely GREAT - if I could improve anything it would be the nightly rate as it was pretty high but not when you consider the setting, quality of comfort etc.
- Donna (10/5): A very considerate host topped off a super experience at The Coach House. - Great location, comfortable and quaint accommodation, every thing needed for a lovely stay.
- Kay (9/5): Very comfortable couple of days - Super comfy bed-bonus points for electric blanket. Well equipped although we didn’t really make use of most of it. Close to everything
- Jacqueline (10/5): Characterful Coach House close to Town - The Coach House is so characterful, quaint and lovely. My husband, small dog and I spent a few days here and we all loved it. Very close to walk to the main shopping and cafes area and also to walk to the water. The cottage is beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We did not need to use it this time but curling up in front of the gas log fire would be wonderful in this living room. There is off street parking in the property and a lovely little private sitting area out back. Would definitely love to come and stay again. Everything was good
- Paul (9/5): - The house had all the amenities you could wish for and was like a home from home.
It was in a great location close to the river and the town centre where there was lots of choice for eating out.
The gas fire was nice to use especially as it was quite cool in the evenings.
The bathroom also had a great shower. The tree at the front of the house that grows through the veranda was banging constantly against the house in the strong wind on our second night which made it very difficult to sleep.
- Robyn (10/5): - Very clean, comfortable with all the facilities we needed. Very cosy despite the cold weather we experienced. One of the nicest accommodation places we’ve stayed in. Excellent position.
- Philippa (9/5): -
- Amanda (10/5): - Location, attention to detail, cleanliness, abundant towels, lovely products. Nothing - all exceptional
- Jayne (9/5): Perfect get away. - The place was cozy and comfortable. Just the right size for two and our mini Cavoodle. The kitchen had everything we needed to do some self catering. We could walk everywhere. The heater had some issues, but Lyn was quick to assist.
- Sylvia (9/5): Delightful place to stay! - The Coach House was a delightful - very comfortable, beautifully appointed with everything one could want. The location was perfect, within walking distance of cafes, restaurants, the Moyne marina and Griffiths Island. Loved it!! There was only one thing, which was rather annoying during the night. The tree, which was growing through the verandah roof, was constantly rubbing and banging in the wind against the building.
- Anne (9/5): We had a very relaxing mini break - The property is very comfortable and is aesthetically decorated and relaxing . The kitchen has everything you need. It is very quiet but close to the shops and river. We will definitely stay again.
- Shannon (10/5): Exceptional - I recently stayed at The Coach House in Port Fairy and couldn’t recommend it more highly. The location is ideal—tucked in a quiet street yet just a short walk to the river, beach, and town centre with its lovely cafes and shops. The cottage itself is full of charm, beautifully furnished with antique-style pieces that give it a warm, homely feel. It’s surprisingly spacious, with a cosy living area downstairs (complete with a gas log fire) and a large, airy bedroom upstairs with garden views. The fully equipped kitchen had everything we needed, including a dishwasher and washing machine, and the bathroom was spotless with both a bath and separate shower. The private courtyard and BBQ area were a bonus, perfect for relaxing outside. The owner, Lyn, was incredibly friendly and thoughtful—she made us feel genuinely welcome with lovely little touches like fresh coffee and biscuits. It’s also pet-friendly, which was a huge plus for us. A truly peaceful and well-appointed place to stay in one of Victoria’s most charming towns.
- Donna (10/5): Perfect place to stay, homely, comfortable and very clean, lots of character too. -
- Kate (9/5): Great, relaxing and central to everything in Port Fairy. - Coach House is cozy and lovely. We had a really great stay and loved how well-stoked the kitchen was and how close to the beach and river and township it is. The only thing I would change would be having proper shampoo and conditioner in the shower. There were tiny bottles for four days and it wasn't very good quality.
- Lesley (10/5): Absolutely loved this cottage. I had high expectations of the town as many childhood holidays here but was a little disa - This property is gorgeous. It has everything you need. It’s close to the river & the town. It’s so cozy. Bed is comfy, shower is good. Everything you need in the kitchen to cook dinner or bbq. Nothing

- Margaret (9/5): Superb - Lovely characterful cottage, which was very homely. Tastefully decorated with artwork etc Bedding & towels are superior. Comfortable lounge and well resourced kitchen so we could cook meals and there was even a washing machine. Easy parking on the property. Great location opposite the wharf.Highly recommended. We liked everything. Using the gas stove was over complicated, with most functions best avoided. Just turn it on/off at the PowerPoint, seems the easiest way.
- Sandra (9/5): Loved it. - Great spot, lovely cottage. Noise from nearby pub was quite loud. Not sure though if anything can be done about this.
- Craig (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sarah (10/5): Homely quaint cottage - We loved staying at this quaint cottage and would have happily stayed another night. Clean, comfortable and great location , just a few minutes walk to the main street . Lots of character with beautiful furnishings and well equipped kitchen. We liked the little touches and the complementary chocolates were appreciated. Christmas decorations were lovely. Easy contactless checkin with key code sent day before. Will recommend for a stay in Port Fairy. Small things but a blind to shut out the light from the skylight in the bedroom would be nice. Only Earl Grey teabags in the kitchen, but I brought my own English breakfast ones.
- Katie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Judith (10/5): Exceptional - the location is superb, the cottage cosy and comfortable, the garden safe even for the most adverturous puppu the bed was a tad uncomfortable but the bedding luxurious

- Christine (9/5): A very comfortable stay in the middle of town. - Great location in Port Fairy if you want to leave the car and walk around. A well equipped kitchen for cooking and a very comfy gas log heater for when the days are a bit cold. Upstairs bedroom and bathroom is very spacious and comfortable. Not a problem for us, but if you dont like going up and down the stairs to the bathroom/toilet it might be an issue. There was a little traffic noise on Gipps street in the morning, but not too early

- Kevin (9/5): Superb - location and very cosy cottage

Although the kitchen was not set up for full cooking of meals, eg in the oven, there were lots of appliances and crockery to manage simple cooking. Heating was effective and immediate. Furniture was very comfortable. Nothing

It has style, comfort, location and cleanliness. The extras of kitchen appliances, equipment and facilities are exceptional. Where else would you find freshly ground single origin coffee for your use in the kitchen??
