• John (10/5): Excellent lake-view property for a relaxing break. - We've been a number of times before and it doesn't disappoint. Spectacular location with lake views. Very well equipped kitchen, laundry etc. Spacious and comfortable throughout including the veranda. Not a problem for us but people may want to note that there is nothing within easy walking distance (beach, boats, shops, restaurants, takeaways etc). Steps from the road may be difficult for people with mobility issues.

• Gideon (9/5): - Loved the location. The lake scenery was beautiful. It's very quiet with lots of bird sound in the morning and evening. Sitting with a cuppa or drink on the balcony watching the sunset through the trees onto the lake was so calming.

The house was very well stocked and had everything we needed. The hosts were amazing and checked in regularly to check if we had any issues.

• Alexandra (7/5): Nice but needs a few touch ups - The view from the veranda is beautiful. The huge glass doors along the adjacent wall mean you can enjoy the view no matter the weather. We loved that there was a basket of kids toys as soon as we walked in. Some thoughtful things were left in the kitchen cupboard including coffee pods and some pantry staples. The host let us know the property was ready to check into as soon as the cleaner had left which was still in the morning. She was quick to respond to our messages and was very reassuring to let her know if we needed anything/had any questions. The location is great - we are both runners and loved exploring the hilly terrain around us. The setting was peaceful and serene. A few minor things would bring this place up to speed again. It almost felt a little forgotten about. The ceiling fan in the main bedroom barely works, and while a floor fan replaces this, it would be useful to have both in the middle of summer given the only aircon is in the lounge room. The tv needs upgrading as there are lighting issues. Most tvs in similar properties have smart tv’s or chromecast however this wasn’t an option - some very old DVD’s were supplied. The exhaust fan in the kitchen doesn’t work. The bedding is getting old in the main bedroom which didn’t make for a very comfortable sleep as the sheets are rough and pilling. I had some Christmas gifts kept in the wardrobe and when I got them off the shelf in the morning, my white wrapping paper had turned black from dust. The floor needed a decent clean as it was very sandy and there was a noticeable smell of what I’m assuming was dog urine when we first entered the property - this was especially disappointing given we received a message asking to leave an additional $20 cash for the cleaners if we were bringing a dog. The coffee machine didn’t work at first, but after removing the bugs and giving it a deep clean we managed to get it working again.

• Hanne (10/5): We had a fantastic time at Aqua Vista. Very much recommended. - Our Stay was absolutely fantastic. AQUA VISTA is such a lovely holiday cottage. It is well presented with a homely feeling. It has all the things that you need for a great stay from a corkscrew to cooking utensils, boardgames and a small library, toys for children etc etc. The house was very clean when we arrived. There are great views from the lake and sublime sunsets. Not to forget the singing birds. Thoroughly RECOMMENDED. Everything was absolutely perfect.

• Renae (7/5): - Awesome view Was nice to be warm with the heaters on once we got inside however the lights out the front were off and the steps are quite steep. Ran out of toilet paper on the night one of a three night stay with no spares anywhere to be found.

WiFi good. I think the TV was supposed to connect to apps (e.g. Netflix), but this did not work Toilet was a bit stinky (kept door closed).

• Racheal (10/5): Exceptional - You cannot beat the uninterrupted views of Smiths Lake from the moment you enter Aqua Vista. Becky is an exceptional host with wonderful communication skills and the house just feels like home.
• Kirsten (5/5): Beautiful view. Tranquil surrounds. - The view was amazing. All the beds were very uncomfortable. Some of the dishes were dirty. The dishwasher wasn’t emptied. The towels were still in the dryer. The rubbish bin had no liner… then we found the liner so that was ok.

Great location. Dog friendly. Perfect place to stay to explore the region or relax and do absolutely nothing. Rain, hail or shine, still an ideal place for R&R.

• Marita (9/5): Superb - An excellent location overlooking Smith lake. The house is spacious, well equipped and comfortable. A pleasure to be in even in torrential rain. The only issue we had was access. Despite providing an Australian phone number as requested we did not receive the promised text with key code. A Booking.com message had been sent but after we left our last accommodation when we had no Internet access.

• Amanda (10/5): Restorative and Relaxing - We loved our stay at Aqua Vista. The house had everything we needed and had a lovely welcoming feel to it, plus it was so comfy. The view from the balcony is something else, especially at sunset. It was a wonderfully quiet and restorative oasis. Being amongst the trees and the friendly array of birds who come to visit while looking at the lake are memories we will hold for a long time. The only drawback we had was the Queen bed in the main bedroom was noisy to get in and out of. Otherwise, no other complaints at all.

We had to use hand wash the first night until soap dropped off next day. No bin bags or paper towels supplied. Host Becky informed me my son had left his mefication a ventolin puffer and spacer and asked for my address. I'm still waiting. Have emailed and messaged numerous times with no response

Kids loved the bunk bed and the out door toys provided Just disappointed that nothing was refilled for us after the last guest. Such as hand wash, we had no toilet paper on arrival, and few amenities too . we couldn’t walk down to the lake because it was too over grown and wasn’t safe. We found sand in the main bed. Which I had to strip off on arrival.

The outdoor furniture and deck should have been hosed the morning before we arrived as we didn’t arrive till 2pm. Otherwise the inside was great

Well equipped house, perfect stay. Need to be aware there are several steps from car parking area down to house.

• Harry (10/5): Great location - The location!! Nestled in between trees and birds. Overlooks the lake, and you can witness stunning sunsets if you walk to the lakeshore. May be more towel supplies?? Hand towels, tea towels and so on.

• Kim (7/5): Perfect spot for relaxation - Stunning views over the lake and beautiful bird life! Cute house with all the things we needed. Chilled vibe. A couple of minor things which were sorted out immediately by the host. Because of the forest location, the house was a bit damp inside.

• Emma (7/5): Good - The peaceful location was great. The layout of the house, looking over the lake was beautiful. Extra linen was needed. Only two towels left for a family of five, and it took a while for the host to get back to us on that issue, which was a little disappointing. It was very cold at night, extra blankets needed if you don't want to keep the heaters on overnight.

The house and facilities were perfect for a quiet weekend away to relax and recharge. Brilliant aircon warmed the place right up. Lots of nice touches like extra blankets and heaters for the bedroom.

• John (10/5): Beautiful peaceful house with lake views. - Beautiful house in an exceptional location with superb unobstructed views of the lake and bushland. Very peaceful. Handy to all of the wonderful lakes and beaches of the Forster/Wallace Lakes area. Spacious, clean and well appointed kitchen, dining area and lounge area - and amazing balcony. Well equipped - everything you would need in the kitchen inc. dishwasher. Also a washing machine and drier. Well ventilated and possible to keep cool (But it had aircon for those that are that way inclined) Really hard to fault - all my friends were jealous when they saw the pictures. Not really criticisms but a few points of information that might help some guests: The driveway is a bit steep and awkward - and steep steps from the parking area to the house for those with mobility issues. There are no nearby shops, you will need to stock up before you arrive or about a 15 minute drive.

• Greg (9/5): Lovely lakeside location surrounded by National Parks but close to amenities and major towns - Woodland setting by the Lake. Pet Friendly. Comfortable. Close to Forster, ocean beaches and lakes. Given the steep block not ideal for access for anyone with mobility issues. Didn’t concern us but care is required going up and down the steps to the cottage. The Beach view shot in the advertisement is misleading. The property has Westerly lake views and is some distance from a beach. Again not a big deal but confusing on arrival.

• Monica (3/5): luckily there are many good attractions that we can stay til finish the holiday, otherwise….. - it is a nice peaceful place. washing machine broken, only got told on the day we arrived. “the handle on the washing machine snapped off with the towels inside. So not only on the machine unusable but il have to drop off some towels for you. They are clean but a little stained. Certainly not what the house towels look like! “ I did receive 3 as I had no choice after drove 7hrs we are all exhausted. towels with stains….. if we only stayed 1night, I’ll probably just sucked it up. BUT it’s 3 nights….. Day 3finally got new one BUT “Hey. The delivery/fitter had a bit of bother and couldn't complete the job unfortunately. “ So they ended up abandon the unboxed machine in one of our bedroom…..!!!!! this is really unprofessional. We didn’t pay less but just got treated like….? the owner was from friendly to um… kinda frustrated. Walking to the backyard is absolutely a wrong direction. as I turned around to the house where we staying. it’s just look like a scary horror movie house. the metal part of the balcony fence are rusted baldy. walking path needs a good tidy up. full of crazy wild bushes.

• Racheal (10/5): Smiths Lake weekend getaway - Aqua Vista is a perfect property for your Smiths Lake Getaway. The View of the lake is spectacular! The house has everything you need to enjoy your stay. Becky is a great communicator and even gave us a late checkout so we could enjoy the lake just a little longer 😀 We loved everything! If I had to pick something the stairs from the car park down to the house and the steepish walk down to the lake are probably not suitable to anyone with difficulty walking.
• Ian (8/5): Pleasant getaway spot with everything we needed. - Whole house with all facilities. Nice lake views. Relaxing and peaceful Nothing really to do that was within walking distance. The few shops at Smiths Lake were pretty basic, but we went into Forster each day, so that wasn't really a problem. Driveway entry/exit a bit tight, we spun on the gravel reversing out a few times.
• Diane (9/5): A beautiful birthday weekend away - Peaceful and relaxing with wonderful views over the lake. Great food and all general shopping needs within 5 minutes driving from the door. Beautiful beaches within 10 minutes. Driveway a bit tight but ok. Lovely weekend away. Steps weren’t an issue for us, but there are some getting down to the house from the parking area.

I Had to call the host to find the place, there was no house number at entrance to indicate where it was ~ just a small Aqua Vista sign on the ground in dark brown behind the rubbish bins that was not visible. Only 2 of the 6 steep outdoor step lights were working. Entering the home it didn’t smell fresh and clean. Kitchen drawers were dirty, old bits of different cutlery and utensils thrown in. Second bedroom Duvet was dirty and smelt like it had been used several times before. Cupboards were filled with old smelly blankets and rubbish. Curtains were falling off the rails in bedrooms and living room. Bathroom towels were still drying in tumble dryer on arrival and didn’t smell fresh. Washing machine was dirty with mould inside. Veranda and outside furniture were dirty and not cleaned and swept for a long time. The outside bench in the garden is unusable, falling apart. Rubbish lying outside under the Veranda that was very sad to see in this beautiful area. This property has not been maintained for a long time. I’ve posted Pic’s of what I’ve mentioned about this property, but it was not posted by booking. com ~ even more disappointing 🙈

• Pammieg (4/5): Disappointing. We paid for 2 nights but the bed was so uncomfortable we left early. - Beautiful views of the lake from the balcony. We liked that it was pet friendly. Effective air-conditioning. The bed was very uncomfortable, needs replacing, the springs dug up through the mattress. The place seemed to lack care, no hand towels in the bathroom, mould on the balcony.
