Guest Reviews
- Genevieve (8/5): Absolutely wonderful ..! We were able to visit places all over the Island from this location..It was truly terrific..🥰 - Nestled between the river and the beach , it was perfectly positioned for quiet, peaceful bird walks watching and beach walks . 🤗 Better quality linen would be good ..but the property manager was going to organise that..👍

- Tricia (9/5): - The size of the house and the facilities were great for 2 couples. Mozzies coming in through ensuite light wasn't much fun.

- Fuk (8/5): Satisfied, good accomdation, good value of money , highly recommended , - Spacious, can see wild animals, near beach. Good environment Lots of mosquitoes, better provide mosquitoes coils
- Teresa (9/5): Superb - Kids loved the wallabies that joined us day and night
- Karen (8/5): Very good -
- Chris (9/5): Excellent accommodation for a group of family/friends set in a relaxing river and beach environment. - Very quiet location a short distance from the local Vivonne Bay store. Great views over the Harriett River and a short walk to Vivonne Bay Beach. Sleepy koalas in the trees.
- Ron (9/5): Superb -
- Todd (10/5): Great property, great location great overall stay. - Just as advertised. No wallabies came up at 5pm each day BUT there is a very cool male and female koala next door and the male is pretty noisy at night!
Well stocked and organized nicely. My only suggestion is to have some of those basic electric plug in heaters. It was pretty cold and, while there were many blankets, it would have been nice to have a small heater.
- Leanne (9/5): Great place to take in nature and proximity to Flinders Chase National Park - Great location and very comfortable home to stay. Nothing
- Natasha (10/5): Exceptional -

Feeding the animals late in the afternoon Leaving!
- Daniel (9/5): Superb - Well supplied with essentials. Lovely peaceful and secluded surrounds.
- Jonny (8/5): Very peaceful and quiet location on the south coast. - Sunset on the balcony, chilling out on the big couch Pillows
- Nicole (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrew (8/5): Confortable large house recommended for families. - The house is large and very comfortable with everything necesary for a great stay.....even down to the kangaroos in the garden. The view over the estuary is charming, and the beach a short walk away. Just be aware that Kangaroo Island is large and Vivonne Bay is quite a distance from the ferry terminal. That said, it is centrally located on the Island and you have to do a lot of driving wherever you stay to see it all.
- Anonymous (10/5): It was a very peaceful and remote place to stay. - It was close to the beach. We found a koala in a tree down the street. My son loved the pool table. Not enough towels. They should include more bath and hand towels as well as beach towels since you are a short walk from the beach. Also it was really cold at night even in the summer. There is no grocery store nearby and the general store is only open until 5, so food is hard to come by for dinner since Kingscote is 45 minutes away.
- Francesca (10/5): Exceptional -
- Karen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Janet (9/5): Perfect Kangaroo Island experience. - Perfect, peaceful location amidst wildlife, between the river and the sea. Great kitchen facilities, laundry, deck, TV, pool table and things we didn't get to use such as a barbecue and kayaks Nothing
- Carmel (10/5): Exceptional - Stayed here for 3 nights. Loved the location overlooking the Harriet river and a short walk to the beach. Great central location to explore the island. Very quiet and lots of wildlife. Lovely morning bird song to wake up to.
- Susan (8/5): Good but not quite what we expected. - The property had enough space for us all. Close to the river although the landing spot is very rough to navigate. No facilities for cleaning fish or washing a boat outside the home. Not enough tea towels. Only one lot of shampoo and conditioner for all rooms. Poorly maintained pool table. Expected to clean to a professional standard at the end of our stay. Next time I will take photos as proof of clean as we spent 2 hours cleaning and was told it was insufficient. The facilities were good but it is a very out bush location.
- Lisa (9/5): Superb - Excellent location on the river, with a deck to watch the sunset on. Only a short walk to the beautiful beach to watch the sunrise. Kitchen well equipped. Bottle of red was a very nice gesture, thank you.
- Sandy (8/5): satisfied with the overall place - clean good facilities the couch was very low and hard to get out of with bad knees. not comfortable at all
- Bronwyn (8/5): Very good - Great bedroom set up and living area was good. Suggest more seating for leisure. Hot water service would struggle with capacity if house was full.
- Gail (10/5): Perfect. Everything was sensational. - The property was centrally located to everything we wanted to see and do on the Island. The home was comfortable and warm. The kitchen was well equiped with the basics of tea & coffee provided.
- Yu-chen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Leonie (9/5): Superb - Beautiful location, everything there that we needed, very clean and comfortable.
- Tony (9/5): Lovely house, great location. - The house was large and comfortable. The resident wallabies were very cute. The local beach was magnificent.
- Rosemary (7/5): Good - So lovely by the river, with view, and all the scrub around us.Amenities were comfy, and house roomy and very clean. Toaster didn't work
Cistern in main bathroom is leaking water.
- Natasha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jan (9/5): Superb -
- Cally (7/5): Great size for families. - Great size place, we had 3 families stay together comfortably. It had all the facilities we needed.
A heads up for others - no heating in the bedrooms so if you have a young baby (like us), bring a portable heater or loads of layers as the rooms are quite cold.
Also, bring loads of mosquito repellant. They are everywhere, even inside. It would be an idea to fix the screen doors as the mosquitoes are out of control. Our 4yo woke one morning covered head to toe in bites. It made for a very uncomfortable week with itching and discomfort.
- Jo (9/5): We absolutely loved it here. Recommended to us by a friend and we will be recommending it to others. - Great instructions on how to get to the property.
Fabulous view. Wallabies in the yard. Lots of birdlife visiting the bird bath.
Great location, lovely and quiet. Easy drives to Flinders Chase NP, Seal Bay, Raptor Domain and Parndana. Also short walk to the beach and river.
Lovely clean and modern accommodation. Loved how open and spacious it is.
Kitchen had everything you could possibly need. Pool table not so good for a serious player but for 2 of us it was hilarious, never had such a fun game with balls going in all directions and not returning. Haven't laughed so hard in ages.
The instructions for the TV remotes was great, but didn't relate to the remote that we could find.
- Hick (8/5): Very good -
- Chrestofis (9/5): Superb -
- Gai (8/5): Great for families or a group af friends. Beautiful views from the deck. - Vivonne Bay is fairy remote but gives good access to the southern side of the island and all it has to offer and good roads to both Penneshaw and Kingscote.
Short walk to general store for morning coffee There is no dishwasher which for a home that sleeps 11 people is a bit disappointing. A clothes dryer would also be a good addition.
Whilst comfortable the house is a little tired but definitely good value for money.
- Vicki (8/5): Very good - Spacious house and lovely bushland aspect. Kitchen very well equipped. Great sunsets and bird life. minor problem but crockery was chipped and needs replacing.
