• Fernanda (7/5): - La cabína estaba bien, era bonita y cómoda sin embargo tenía ducha y no funcionaba, no había agua caliente. La verdad me molestó que la señora se pase preguntando con tanta intencidad la hora de ingreso y de salida, si ya el lugar tiene establecidas las horas de llegada y salida uno se acompla a esa norma y por lo general cuando se está de vacaciones muchas cosas pueden pasar así que no se sabe a ciencia cierta a que hora se va a llegar a la cabina o a que hora se va a salir, sin embrago uno siempre respeta las horas que estable el lugar. Nosotros veníamos de SJ y había muchísima presa, así que no sabíamos a que hora íbamos a llegar pero ella insistía en que le dijera una hora y eso me molestó un poco ya que para uno es más agradable cuando el establecimiento no se pasa molestando y no se pone a decir cosas por la hora de entrada obviamente uno no va a llegar antes de lo permitido pero sí puede pasar que se llegue después y muchas veces en otros lugares me dicen que tranquila que ellos igual nos están esperando y podemos llegar a la hora que queramos, es la primera vez que tengo esta experiencia y me molestó, al igual el día que estábamos en el lugar también me envió mensaje a preguntar a que hora nos íbamos el día siguiente, cuando uno no tiene la menor idea de a que hora va a salir, ya sabiamos qué la hora límite eran las 11 entonces uno se acompla a eso pero es innecesario que ella esté preguntando. Ademas que cuando ya nos habíamos ido me mandó un mensaje que no encontraba un paño de la cocina 🤦🏻‍♀️ como si uno se fuera a llevar unos pañillos todos feos y chiquitillos de la cocina.

• Peter (10/5): 🤩🤩🤩♥️ - Wunderschöner Garten, Holzhaus wunderbar, einfach, aber alles Notwendige vorhanden. Strandnah, nah zum Ort mit guten Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und netten Restaurants. Sylvia ist eine sehr aufmerksame Gastgeberin, super freundlich und hilfsbereit. Im Garten fühlt man sich sofort wohl, viele Tiere konnten wir von der Terrasse aus beobachten. Der Kolibri war immer schneller als ich mit dem Fotografieren 😉Die unterschiedlichen Tukane ließen sich gut ablichten. 🦥 gab es auch und noch viele andere Vögel. Schnaken waren kein Problem, sehr angenehm war es nachts und auf der Terrasse (abends haben wir Mückenschutz genutzt). Insgesamt 11 von 10 Punkte, da Caribbean Vibes alles getoppt haben. Erwartet viel Natur und das bekommt ihr auch geliefert. Pura Vida vom feinsten, schön & authentisch 🤩 war alles zu unserer Zufriedenheit

• Christian (10/5): Ein Herzens Ort 🙏 - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Ein Ort, an dem ich mein Herz gelassen habe Mein Aufenthalt im El Jardín an der Playa Negra war einfach unbeschreiblich schön. Schon ab dem ersten Moment habe ich mich nicht wie ein Gast, sondern wie zu Hause gefühlt. Dieser Ort strahlt eine besondere Ruhe, Wärme und Herzlichkeit aus, die man nur sehr selten findet. Silvia ist eine außergewöhnliche Gastgeberin – aufmerksam, herzlich, authentisch und mit einer wunderbaren Energie. Sie schafft es, dass man sich gesehen, willkommen und geborgen fühlt, ohne aufdringlich zu sein. Ihre Liebe zu diesem Ort und zu den Menschen ist in jedem Detail spürbar. El Jardín ist für mich mehr als nur eine Unterkunft – es ist ein Rückzugsort, ein Platz zum Ankommen, Durchatmen und Sein. Die Atmosphäre ist voller Leichtigkeit und Seele. Ich bin unglaublich dankbar, dass es diesen besonderen Ort gibt. Ich habe dort mein Herz gelassen und weiß jetzt schon: Ich werde wiederkommen. Von Herzen danke für diese Erfahrung, für die Wärme, die Offenheit und dieses Gefühl von Zuhause fernab von Zuhause. Absolute Empfehlung – fünf Sterne sind eigentlich zu wenig. ✨🌿💛 Für mich war alles perfekt 🙏
• CVIJETIĆ (10/5): - We really enjoyed our stay at El Jardín. The place is clean, comfortable, and surrounded by a beautiful, peaceful garden. The hosts were very friendly and helpful, and the location is great for exploring the area. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it.

• Eva (8/5): Tranquilo, estilo caribeño y vegetación. - El lugar cuenta con áreas verdes, casitas estilo caribeñas muy bonitas. Se encuentra alejado del centro por lo que hay bastante silencio alrededor. La propietaria nos recibió muy amablemente y atenta. Las casas está bien equipadas para preparar alimentos. No tiene agua potable y te ofrecen la opción de comprarla. En otros hospedajes nos han dado el agua sin un costo adicional. En la Casa Naranja el mezanine es bastante ruidoso y el sofá cama no está en buenas condiciones.

• Shelly (10/5): Beautiful garden, comfy bed, walk to beach - Location, personal guidance from lovely host. The gardens are beautiful, it’s a short walk to watch the sunrise on the beach. The outside porch has a cooktop and French press for a quick meal and a hammock you can relax after a fun day of exploration. Bed was quite comfortable.

• Luis (3/5): No cumplió con las expectativas - I did not like the place I had high expectations, I thought the pictures on booking were the place I was renting, NO, ITS NOT A HOUSE, its a very small room right next to a wood house, room its small and you can hear the people on the main wood house talking specially at night when you re trying to sleep and rest, the place its not located close to Puerto Viejo town and you definitely need a car to go there. No relation between the place and the price I pay (I pay 105 dollars for two nights), No, that place does not worth that amount of money. I have been traveling to Puerto Viejo for many years, stayed in different airbnbs, hotels and rooms and this is the firts one I am not leaving with a happy experience.

• Surya (5/5): I do not recommend staying here. - We had a front porch and path to our cabin. The manager did not tell us ahead of time that we could not charge our electric scooter at the cabin...and that was our only transportation to get around town. They also did not tell us that there is construction going on, so it was loud from 7am -5pm, and I could not work online comfortably. The cabins are too close together and you can hear your neighbors alarm clocks and movement. One of the neighbors trespassed onto our property, banged on our walls early in the morning, and was belligerent. They claim that there is hot water, but it's barely warm and uncomfortable to take showers on cold, rainy days.

• Carmela (9/5): Tranquil Garden Paradise - This is a beautiful location surrounded by incredible fauna and flora. It is secluded so it is much more quiet than the center of Puerto Viejo and the beaches are not crowded. It is very close to Playa Negra, only a 3 minute walk. I stayed in Casa Chiquita and it was the perfect size for a solo traveler. Maria was an incredibly gracious host and very accommodating. I did not have a rental car and she was able to recommend a taxi service for a day trip to Cahuita. This made for a very tranquil vacation. As mentioned in other reviews, there is currently construction next door. The noise didn't bother me and it can't really be helped anyways. However, the workers did catcall me several times during my stay while I walked to and from my cabin. There is also an outdoor shower that you must use to wash off sand before entering your house and I noticed they were watching me as I showered. I did not complain about this during my stay as I never felt unsafe, but it is definitely something to be vigilant of, especially if you're a woman traveling alone.

Unfortunately the construction works next door were very loud from 7.00am - 4.00pm each day. No fault of the establishment, but did impact on the ambiance.
• Anna (8/5): Very good - It had everything we needed, even though it was far from luxurious. The Wi-Fi was okay, which is not guaranteed in Puerto Viejo. The hosts were amazing! Made you feel very welcome! Thin walls, so you definitely need earplugs here. There’s a construction work next to the property, unfortunately they did some loud work during our stay.
• Christine (9/5): A beautiful place! A great hostess! Helpful and friendly staff! - A great place to stay. Beautiful garden, a great hostess! A nice outdoor kitchen! Lots of birds, trees, flowers, and even s sloth! We can walk to the beach and to the grocery store. The walls are very thin so we could hear our very loud neighbor who talked on the phone all night. However, we let the hostess knows and she enforces quiet hours. Do let her know if you hear too much noise. She is super helpful.
• Ilsa (10/5): Exceptional - The property is wonderful and tranquil with a true garden feel, close enough to town but far enough not to notice. The casitas are beautiful with tons of wood throughout and are quite comfortable and private. The hosts are wonderful and very helpful to make sure you have the best possible visit but they don't hover over you, yet are very responsive if you ever need anything! The beach is an easy walk away and there is always wildlife around, a true paradise! (Early risers can hear the local howler monkeys and the waves crashing at 5 AM with morning coffee) January 2023: A very temporary dislike. A new house was under construction next door, The workers were not that loud, but it was a slight distraction at times. It looked like they were almost finished so this should not prevent anyone from choosing this property.
• Sharon (8/5): A short walk from the beach - Lovely cabin in a beautiful setting, with excellent facilities. no soundproofing, so we could hear every word the people next to us said, like they were in the same room and unfortunately their children were restless, so it wasn’t as peaceful as we would have liked.

I like that there is a small market just down the road where you can get essentials (and good coffee!) without having to deal with the busy town. my favorite thing though is there’s a little kitty that seems to belong to the property. I loved having her around. she even caught bugs

Own garden, lots of wildlife, the hosts Paolo and Romina were brilliant, informative, friendly and very helpful whenever we needed anything.. The beach is only a 5 minute walk away and puerta viejo restaurants and shops a 5 minute drive... A very enjoyable, relaxing stay

• Kate (7/5): Good stay - The cabins are away from the busy city area if you’re looking for a spot in the rainforest. The hosts are very friendly and detail oriented. Everything was clean upon arrival and the cleaner cleaned one room. The property is very nice with 3 cabins. Please be aware that the cabin Terezza with 2 people is shared with another cabin. As a result, you can hear every single word and noise coming from the other side of the wall. unfortunately, the people we were sharing with had two small children so in the morning at 6am it was so loud.. I would advise for you to book the 3 or 4 person cabin so you have your own space and privacy without having to listen to other people, so you can fully enjoy the space and the amazing surrounding nature. Otherwise, the place is good. I would advise the owner to not rent out this particular cabin to two different groups. thank you!

• Leon (10/5): Awesome !! - The Location was clean, well equipped and close to the beach! Going to the beach is like a 3 minute walk. (I recommend to go to cahuita by car as well, it’s like a 15 minute drive and the beach + national park are beautiful). The host was super friendly and really cared about us! Loved it!
