Guest Reviews
- Scott (7/5): Seaview is a wonderfully serene retreat defined by stunning panoramic views and charming wildlife - The location provided a wonderful sense of serenity and stunning panoramic views, while still being remarkably close to the airport and Hobart. Feeding the very friendly wallabies and spotting the shy brush-tailed possums was a highlight of our time on the property. We stayed in the Seaview Eagle House and found the convenience of using the disability car parking made our arrival and departure very smooth as it was easy to get bags in and out of the car. The four other houses didnt have this concrete space. The stay was very inexpensive, though we would have welcomed the option to pay for small luxuries like local wine or pantry staples to improve the dining experience. The entry point to the property presents a somewhat unpolished first impression, as the drive passes a residence with a very rustic and lived-in aesthetic that doesn't quite reflect the high standard of the secluded villas further up the hill. Once we were settled, we found the minibar was heavily skewed toward sweets; while the selection of chocolates was impressive, there was a lack of practical staples like breakfast cereal or sufficient milk, which was inconvenient given that the lack of an oven and the distance to shops makes "ducking out" for supplies difficult. The check-in process was also a bit stressful as our calls to the contact number went unanswered and unreturned, and the 500m of rough gravel road felt a bit rugged for an upmarket vehicle without clearer signage to guide the way. Additionally, the communal BBQ was located up a steep, slippery gravel slope that felt a bit treacherous to navigate and wasn't clearly mentioned in the literature, so the option to pre-buy a food hamper would have greatly improved the overall convenience of the stay.
- Julia (8/5): Beautiful location, nicely equipped comfortable cabin. - Location was fabulous Unfortunately the disabled shower was poorly screened - definitely need longer shower curtains or lower shower rail, to avoid whole of bathroom floor flooding đ
- Neethu (7/5): Great!! - We liked the views and value for money. We had wallabies visit us and kids loved it The bed linen and towels could have been cleaner. Access to the accomodation takes 20mins from highway. Need to drivesafe
- Anne (10/5): -
- Sarah (10/5): - Perfect place to stay. Great for familyâs
- Nurul Natasya (1/5): We were sorely deceived by your high ratings. - Wallabies didnât disappoint us. But then again they are not employed by the owners. There was ZERO heating on a winterâs night. We were up on a mountain, which we TOTALLY LOVE. We were far from civilization so we EXPECTED the house heating system to run well, to be able to keep us warm. The temperature fell below 11degC. We slept with our self-bought heat packs to stay heated. Main heating system in the living room didnât work. No heating system in the bedrooms. Water from taps n bathrooms freezing cold. Communicated with owners via booking.com but received no reply. Called the number in the house manual n was told number was out of service. Texted Jess and Ella but neither replied. We had a good mind of sleeping in the car. We left the property at 6.30 am cos it got too cold & we didnât want to die frozen during our vacation.
There were muddy shoe prints in the bathroom when we arrived. A used bar of soap was left in the bathroom. Hand soap dispenser was empty. There was shaved facial hair in the bathroom sink. Evidently, the cleaner did not do a good job.
Do we get some kind of monetary compensation for the lack of hospitality?
- Sruthi (8/5): Beautiful home for a small family with great views - Beautiful views driving up to and from the property. Very close to the airport but no airport noise. A lot of wild animals roaming around , kids loved that. Sofa bed in the living room was very useful . Dryer was also super useful because it was windy and we never had enough time to let clothes air-dry. Free Netflix was a big plus for kids. Quilt was light weight and very warm. Sufficient linen and towels were provided. House felt small for us and having only 1 bathroom was difficult. Not having a shower screen door caused the whole bathroom floor to become wet after a shower. Toiletries were not sufficiently stocked for our 6-night stay. Microwave was not clean . Not enough cups, bowls available . No kitchen essentials except salt, pepper and oil. No board games or books for kids. Last part of uphill drive was gravel and could be challenging for the inexperienced. No mirror except in the bathroom
- Aquino (9/5): Beautiful views, compassionate and flexible hosts, comfy house highly recommended for travellers! - Mount Rumney Escapes Seaview House 3 â Wombat House was an absolutely fantastic stay for us, and we highly recommend it. The hosts, especially Clarrise, were incredibly accommodating and compassionate when our flights changed at the last minute, working with Booking.com to move our nonârefundable Saturday booking to Friday without hesitation from House 2 to House 3, which made us feel genuinely cared for as travellers. We arrived late at night in a Toyota Corolla Hybrid with five adults and five hiking bags and still got there easily, found the house comfortable and welcoming, and loved the stunning views that made the whole experience memorable!
- Norman (10/5): The place to go - The rooms were large double beds in each kitchen was good could have a few more pans the views you wouldn't believe till you see it for yourself and the possum who came up every night we have so many photos we gave him a name you can if you go and see him one day don't miss out
- Tay (7/5): -
- Christine Joy (7/5): Nice experience, but will not come back. - the view was really beautiful The response for communication (dishwasher is broken) is too slow. The whole period of our holiday, we cannot use the dishwasher.
- Fiona (9/5): Quiet, relaxing perfect way to spend our last night in Hobart once we arrived - Outstanding views. Great value for money. The long driveway road is unsealed and not as well maintained as stated. I didnât really feel fully safe driving up there in my hire car and am so thankful it was daylight. This needs to be much more clearly communicated to guests plus a larger sign post from Mount Rumney Road wouldnât go amiss.
I absolutely love what they are doing with the property but it looks as if it is still under construction and was very muddy everywhere from the rain.
- Mary-anne (10/5): Lovely location and a very comfortable house. - The view was spectacular. Watching the sunset and sunrise was both wonderful! The beds were extremely comfortable and warm. The bathroom was safe and accessible for my elderly mother. The heater was very efficient at warming the house. The wallabies that came to visit were so lovely. I think many would have absolutely loved the drive in to the property but I found the drive a little outside my comfort zone on the gravel road.
- Nathan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Robert (8/5): Very good - Stunning views, very comfortable and well stocked cabin. Lovely welcome by 2 very friendly goats and lots of wallabies We would have enjoyed some out door furniture on the deck so that we could have enjoyed the stunning view even more

- Shahn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Biju (8/5): Very good - Quiet location, beautiful view at night Dry vegitation & fallen trees in close view, off roads slightly harsh

- Madelein (10/5): wonderful customer service - away from the city . perfect - everything we needed! Nothing
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shuqi (10/5): Great place with even greater potentials once the development is completed - Unbeatable view! It will be the dream place for photographers at night if the weather is nice.
Room very comfy, new and clean, gas heater working great There are some small worms at the bottom of the headboard in the 2nd bedroom.
- Gavin (10/5): When you get to the end of the hilltop drive, the accommodation is fantastic and views superb. - The accommodation was fantastic. The views wee outstanding. Nothing.
- Cassandra (10/5): Beautiful views! - The view was beautiful, especially the sunrise! It was great value for money, much bigger than we expected. The beds were really comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped (but has no oven).
A great place to stay to get away from the hustle & bustle of Hobart, but close enough to everything you need.
- Louise (10/5): The view from the cabin is âoh wowâ!! - Amazing view
- Christian (8/5): Very good - The view and location on the hill was awesome especially at night with lights of cambridge and the airport below was an enjoyable site, netflix on the tv was nice to watch and the deck was positioned to admire that view Bed pillows were abit hard and the bedroom could of had a night light.
- Anthony (7/5): Good - Beautiful views, comfortable, clean house. The drive up to the accommodation was not appropriately describe online. It was given as âshort gravel drive to houseâ when in fact was 1.5km for extremely rough, winding, hilly track. Not suitable for hire car which we had. Preferably best for 4WD.
- Yee (1/5): Bad - absolutely nothing at all. This place location is terribly hard to reached . The signboard didnât make it clear and instructive enough for the guests.along the way is full of narrow curve and ridiculous danger rocks that we are caution about, plus the host is blaming us to removed the only thing make us feel save.overall,in and out with this accommodations we are absolutely cant accept the rudeness of the host and the additional feeâs charged on top of everything.last but not least, strongly recommend that please do not allow the host take additional money from my dominant bank account based on her story tells.would be much appreciated.
- Caitlin (8/5): Very good -
- Fiona (8/5): Great spot, close to Hobart and the airport. - Location and facilities. Great views. Also we were lucky to get accomodation at such short notice. Nothing, the access drive was a bit confusing. we would prefer a normal not disabled shower due to water all over the floor but this was all that was available as it was a very last minute booking.
- Janelle (10/5): great find when travelling. close to the airport too - caterered for everything. stunning location houses could have been a little further away from each other
- Dina (8/5): Very good -
- Michael (9/5): Superb -
- Cameron (10/5): Exceptional -
