• Anne (10/5): Love to go back - Property is in a beautiful spot not far from the lookout. I was greeted by a friendly kangaroo on arrival near the back door. Native birds nesting in the front of the property. There is a bakery next door that serves coffee
• ANTONY (9/5): perfect location and comfortable lodgings - N/A smart TV was unable to access WiFi network thus limiting viewing choices. However wasn't there to watch TV so this had minimal impact on the stay!

• Kit (8/5): Great location, authentic 60s cabin - Epic location - right in the middle of town, ample parking, walking distance to a selection of shops/cafes/bars, north gorge beach. Surprisingly not too noisey even at peak times. Could do with a bit of a refresh - it’s lovely staying in some authentic 60s architecture but a bit of a tune up would make it even better and feels appropriate for the price. Have realistic expectations of things like wifi - you’re on an island getaway, it’s not fast 😁
• Marie (7/5): Great location with rustic charm, genuine Australian beach shack - Location is terrific and place is total beach shack charm. Clean linen and comfortable beds. Basic but serviceable kitchen. There is lack of privacy at back, as single bed, fridge, toilet & shower are all in the back area. Toilet is in its own room, but shower has only the shower curtain as separation; there is no area to get dressed or undressed other than in the shower itself. Makes the shack only suitable for a couple, close family or very travel-savvy friends. It could so easily be addressed with a light partition walls. Pity.

• Laura (10/5): Excellent location and a very comfortable stay. - Great location very close to coffee shops, the beach and the gorge walk. Lovely place to stay, it was clean and well appointed. Amazing hot water! Beautiful breezes with the windows and doors open. Internet wasn’t connected to TV but we didn’t need it with so many other things to do.

Close proximity to Gorge walk Although a very good pedestal was provided a ceiling fan in main living area would help with cooling/air flow as property is not air conditioned which from experience we know is certainly not unusual for Straddie!

• Kate (6/5): We needed a holiday. It wasn't what we planned. I will not rebook. - I knew the location when I booked, so that was fine. The shack is very basic, no money has been spent on it for a long time. The photos or blurb do not adequately explain its limitations. I had planned for my two adult children to join us, however the space is way too small for that to be practical or enjoyable. The single bed is in the same area (which clearly was the garage) as the toilet, shower, fridge, basin. The shower has no ventilation so is constantly wet and the shower curtain is old and has rising mould. The bin was inundated with maggots, which I had to clean out before being able to use it for our own rubbish. Near on $480 per night is a significant overcharge for the property's offering. For a property with such a significant land value, I would expect that the owners would spend some money to improve the standard of the shack, and to advertise it as accommodation for a couple, not 5 people.
• Susan (4/5): Ok - Location and clean It said bunks in the ad. The couch is only for 2 ppl so cramped. The aircon next door very noisy. The water in sink pipes really noisy. There was no privacy for shower.

• Rachel (9/5): Cabana bliss - Clean, tidy and great location. Very relaxed atmosphere. Wasp nest hanging from roof near back door and in some of the bushes. Washer in tap hand basin needs a change as it makes a loud noise.

• Michelsen (8/5): My stay was peaceful and relaxing. The Cabana was perfect, basic and just what I needed. - The Cabana was handy to everything. It was just what I expected...basic but very comfortable. It was perfect for what I needed. The bus pickup/drop off was right across the road and I found the continued vibration and diesel fumes from the non-stop buses arriving and leaving a bit disturbing. Just a suggestion...I recommend some fly screens
