Guest Reviews
- Annesley (9/5): Clean and comfortable home away from home - plenty of breakfast options, cereals, bread, yoghurt. House very clean, beds comfy. One bathroom was a challenge for 7 people
- Simran (10/5): -
- Alison (10/5): - Breakfast options, animals, Cate was lovely and very welcoming and kept us informed during a brief power outage. Nothing
- Trent (10/5): Mt. Gambier B&B - Cate was very welcoming. The cottage is beautifully appointed and close to town but feels much further than it actually is. The whole family enjoyed the stay and the breakfast . Would highly recommend 🙂 There is nothing to dislike about our stay except we perhaps brought some Melbourne whether with us on the first night 😆
- Elizabeth (10/5): Wonderful - This is a spacious comfortable property in a beautiful location. It’s very peaceful surrounded by fields and yet only 10 mins from Mount Gambia. The owners were friendly and helpful Everything was great
- Yao (10/5): Will be back again! Thanks! - Very quiet and beautiful place to stay and nice host. None
- Ai-Lan (10/5): - Everything. Lovely, spacious and clean house. Comfortable bed. Loved the breakfast spread and toys/games to keep our little one occupied. Gorgeous views of the farm. Very helpful host who greeted us upon arrival and gave us tips to make our Mount Gambier stay even better. Highly recommend. Nothing.

- Walker (10/5): Beautiful property and very relaxing stay! - This property is stunning! We loved how peaceful it is out there, the amazing views of the country side and of course, the animals! The house was presented beautifully, the beds were very comfortable and everything’s was very neat and tidy. Lots of options for breakfast and they have thought of everything to make your stay easy and relaxing. Nothing!
- Anne (10/5): Staying here is a must - It was more than a home away from home. All the little touches were appreciated. Cate is a wonderful host.
We could not have asked for a better stay.
Thank you very much Cate.
- Annesley (10/5): beautiful house in a quiet location overlooking picturesque farmland, everything you could need - The house was extremely clean and our host had thought of everything, from bathroom supplies, kitchen supplies, fans, extra blankets basically everything you could possible want. There were newborn claves which had been born whilst we were there, chickens to see and of course Bear the dog to play with, kids had an absolute ball. A separate toilet would have been useful but this would not stop me from booking again
- Jimmy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rebecca (10/5): Calm, comfortable, country living. With the most spectacular sunrise. - This property is only 8mins out of town and it felt like you were in a beautiful farm stay oasis. As it sleeps so many it would be great to have an en-suite but that would be if I HAD to pick something.
- Justin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Megan (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely everything. Cate was incredible in accommodating us, and made sure the house was ready, the essential food, early check in. We stayed here for the night before our wedding. Couldn't have picked a better place. Will definitely be staying again. Highly recommended.
- Micheal (10/5): Exceptional - very clean nice people that run it enjoyed my stay wish it was longer
- Alison (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely awesome, wish we could've stayed longer but had to come back for work. We loved seeing all of the animals including cows, calves, horses, chickens and the family dog. The calves were absolutely gorgeous, one looked like a fluffy teddy bear with brown eyes and nose, absolutely gorgeous. The breakfast provisions were ample. We loved that it was a real working farm and was awesome seeing the cows/calves being moved from paddock to paddock. We loved everything! Flies were an issue but that comes with the area and being on a farm with animals 😀

- Stephanie (10/5): Wonderful stay in a serene environment - Very comfortable property with everything you could wish for. A Serene environment and only a short drive to the Mt Gambier, perfect for holidays or business travel alike. Our favourite part was watching the sun go down sitting on the outside patio/ bbq area. We will be back 💯 Couldn’t fault the property- lovely, clean and lots of very thoughtful personal touches by the hosts.
- Rachel (9/5): Felt like a home away from home - Location was beautiful and the accomodation was warm ,comfortable and clean. NA
- Linda (10/5): Exceptional - Clean, cosy and comfortable
- Chama (10/5): Perfect Holiday! - Me and my big family enjoyed every bit our Stay at Pleasant Hill. Cate & Craig were such amazing hosts. Their hospitality left us speechless. The house was well presented and spotlessly clean. It had everything we needed. The scenery outside is worth seeing and perfect if you're looking for a place to retreat and refresh.
Our little girls enjoyed playing with the friendly dog and excitedly witnessed the birth of a baby cow.
Perfect place for families, small groups or couples honeymoon. Could hardly find a fault.
- Peter (7/5): Good -
- Robin (10/5): A spacious B &B in a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere. Close to Mt Gambier, without any noise. Perfect! - Amazing! If there was nothing to please, then you had to be very fussy! Breakfast was mix of so many choices! Even had juice and milk, etc. The location was rural, so very quiet. Really appreciated spaciousness of home too. Host was amazing, greeting us as we arrived and explaining some things, etc., but then leaving us to our own devices with the promise to 'pop in' next door if we needed anything. All was fabulous!
- Brian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yin (10/5): Great experience for living - The house located in a beautiful farm, away from main road provides a quiet living experience, Cate the host has attitude of hospitality. Only one toilet is not enough for such big house
- Debbie (9/5): Very relaxing and comfortable - Breakfast was excellent and more than expected. It was very quiet just the cows 🐄 Nothing
- Natalie (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful peaceful setting with friendly hosts. Cate and Craig are knowledgeable locals that will make you feel at home. Good selection of continental breakfast items and quiet surroundings.
- Melinda (10/5): Great place - The hosts were so friendly. The house was comfortable and very clean. There was great variety in the breakfast. Peaceful location. Loved it!
- Kevin (10/5): It was very roomy with a large dining table and lots of plates, cups and utensils. - The location is out in the country with cows and a calf to watch out the window. My cousins were only 1 mile away so the location was super convenient.
The breakfast was all gluten-free for me. I didn’t ask for a converter to use my hair dryer or charge my phone because I brought a converter from the United States. It might have been more convenient to have it set up on the electric outlet.

- Paul (10/5): Paradise in Mt. Gambier - The house is extreme comfortable and with great views. The owners are so hospitable and kind. We had some nice talks with them. We loved the place and had a wonderful stay.
(A comfortable chair to sit outside would be the icing on the cake).
- Alison (10/5): Exceptional - Location is amazing, scenery is beautiful. Very peaceful and relaxing. Perfect spot for a getaway! Would highly recommend
- Weiming (10/5): Amazing hosting - Absolutely wonderful house with great view.
- Mae (8/5): Lovely place to stay with great hosts. Only hitch was there was only 1 bathroom / toilet which was challenging. Othe - It’s in a beautiful location with lovely hosts. Only 1 bathroom for 8 people.

Highly recommend and would stay here again. The lovely cows outside the wondow are a bonus. There really wasn't anything we didn't like.

- Cara (9/5): Absolutely amazing! - Wow, what else can you say!! The property is absolutely amazing, the views are serene and it is so quiet. Cate and Craig are so lovely, very helpful and friendly.
The house is incredibly spacious and clean. Cate has thought of everything when it comes to comfort and supplies. The breakfast provision was ample for the 5 of us and quality foods.
The kids loved all the animals, especially Sam and Bear.
Perfect location, only a short 10min drive to the city centre which suited us.
I would 100% stay again in a heartbeat and highly recommend to all family and friends. Only thing we can comment on was the fridge broke down due to a power surge which was at no fault of the owners, just one of those unfortunate things. Luckily we had an Engel and Craig brought over a small bar fridge which sufficed for our stay.

- Cyril (9/5): Highly recommended farm stay experience for families. - We enjoyed the farm stay very much. Cate and Craig were lovely and friendly hosts and were quick to respond. The breakfast provided was very good and enough even for my 3 ravenous sons. We enjoyed walking around and my sons loved playing with Bear, the dog. Highly recommended for those who enjoy farm stays. Nothing. Everything met or exceeded my expectations. Not too far from the town centre.

- Jacqi (10/5): Will definately love to go again, loved the peace and tranquility of the setting - The facilities and location were fabulous, unfortunately we have 4 in our party that are either Celiac or Gluten intolerant however that is not their fault, we didn't pass that info on. A separate toilet would have been the icing on the cake
