Guest Reviews
- cathy (10/5): - The location was fantastic, able to walk to shops and restaurants and reserve.
It was cute and the beds were comfortable.
- Karen (8/5): -
- Misty (10/5): Beautiful place, close to town. Would stay again - Close to town, bathrooms were beautiful. Mattresses were a little uncomfortable
- Moir (8/5): This location was perfect for our multi generational family Easter getaway! - Location was so convenient to Margaret river town.
- John (7/5): -
- Kerry (10/5): Perfect location to bike trails and town. Really clean and cosy for the cold winter mornings. Loved that we could walk - Renovated since our last stay and the layout is great. Addition of the a/c’s is a bonus. Perfect location to the river and town. Access to a garage is really useful with bikes and surf boards.
- Zac (8/5): -
- Michael (10/5): - Good size property and close to the town centre. Walkable to lots of bars and restaurants. Clean and tidy. Only one shower for up to 6 people in the property. Can delay the mornings a little.
- Cher F (9/5): A great place to stay - Beds were very comfortable and it had everything that we needed to self cater, including oil and seasonings. The staff were very responsive and that was highly appreciated. Nothing!
- Melanie (10/5): -
- HAYAN (10/5): -
- Siong (8/5): It was overall an amazing stay - I liked the overall vibe and the internet connection. It was cozy and I got to watch the shows I like through the internet The stairs might be a little bit of a slippery hazard, should provide more floor mats in the bathroom just in case one gets wet
- Lynette (9/5): Superb - Great location. Second bedroom mattress needs replacing.
- Bianca (10/5): Perfect home in a great location - Location is fantastic. Easy to walk into town for restaurants and bars. The house is large and was spacious enough for 5 people.
Outside space looked great too.
- Amanda (8/5): A well priced comfortable house with good facilities. - Great location close to town. The house was well equipped and the furniture was very nice. Beds were very comfortable. The bathroom had no screen so water went everywhere each time someone had a shower. A few areas had damaged paintwork. When we arrived the tv did not work but we found an antenna in the cupboard. It was a bit dangerous as we had to have it across a doorway.
- Steven (7/5): Good -
- Wan (6/5): Pleasant -
- Kim (8/5): Great stay with family - Great touch with bottle of wine, coffee pods, olive oil, great WiFi, comfy beds nice large settee & location was perfect. The house does need a little TLC, silly things really, garden needs a few more plants (as it’s called veggie patch), tap in bathroom falling off, kitchen cupboards need repairing, bedside table either side of bed, more cupboard/self space in bathroom and needs a good fresh of paint.
- Jacqueline (9/5): Exactly as advertised! - Location is fabulous. Plus we were able to have some drinks and food at the accommodation and saved a small fortune
- Kain (1/5): Would not recommend. Staff were very unhelpful. - Nothing We instantly got a smell when we walked in to the house. The house was very dirty with lots of dead bugs. Bugs also on the beds. Air conditioning did not work. We chose not to stay here due to this when speaking with staff they advised us they would come down to check it out. When they checked it out we were told their were no bugs and that they will change the bed. We were very disappointed with this as we had shown pictures also. No satisfaction when asking for some sort of refund.
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Arielle (8/5): Central Stay - The location was nice and private, although down a shared driveway we felt like we were tucked away from busy township.
The property was very spacious, the facilities were great and the fans in the room were a great touch during our summer stay.
The location is really central to the town so we were able to pop out and within 5 minutes find a place to eat a meal or do some shopping. Fabulous building and area. The floor did creak a lot, however I understand it is to be expected with an older property.
I did feel bad for the other guests as when walking to the bathroom at night, or to the fridge to get a water, the floor creaked with each step.
- Kelly (8/5): Very good -
- Jamie (9/5): Peaceful abode in the heart of Margaret River - Lovely, quiet and private accommodation. The beds were very comfortable too and 1 minute walk (via a back lane) to all the cafes, shops etc - whilst remaining a peaceful spot. Perfect for our stay
- Nicole (10/5): We thoroughly enjoyed our stay - Plenty of room and close to town Nothing
- Claire (9/5): Great tranquil location to visit Margaret River - Close to town but in quiet location. Clean and spacious Only one bathroom
- Alexis (9/5): Superb - Location was fantastic and It was very clean. It was cosy and cute. garage didn’t lock and broken tap in the bathroom
- Gerrit (8/5): Thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay. - The whole house was spotlessly clean. All necessay equipment was available, such as washing machine, vacuum cleaner, microwave, oven, hotplate, kitchen utensils, crockery, cutlery, etc, etc.
The living area had a sofa and TV. There was ample room for two cars. The house is almost in the centre of Margaret River, certainly within walking distance of all the shops. There were a couple of things the owners could repair. In the bathroom (upstairs) the exhaust fan does not work and the tap (faucet) in the hand basin is loose.
We were there with 2 cars and sadly the garage was too short for either of them. We used outside parking and it was sufficient.
- Siew (3/5): Poor - I recently stayed at this homestay, and unfortunately, it did not meet expectations. The house is quite old and in desperate need of renovation. The plates and cups were stained, making us question their cleanliness. With only one shower available for six guests, it was a constant struggle, especially since the rooms were cramped and small.
Every time we opened the doors, they creaked loudly, adding to the overall discomfort. To make matters worse, the washing machine had a foul odor, and the windows were coated in dust and spider webs.
The sofa was excessively soft, making it uncomfortable to relax. Overall, my family did not have a pleasant experience, and I wouldn't recommend this place until significant improvements are made.
- Rhiannon (9/5): Superb -
- Ross (8/5): Comfortable, convenient location. - Bathroom exhaust fans did not operate.
- Tharakie (10/5): Had a wonderful stay - House was cozy, the environment is calm and peaceful. Walking distance to the city. Very convenient
- Mohd (6/5): Location, location, location! - Good-sized fully equipped 3x1 house in very convenient location. Walking distance to shops, eateries in the middle of town. Good value for money for a family of five. Mattresses on twin & double beds need turning: exhaust fan in bathroom wasn't working; shower wall tiles need some scrubbing.
- Karen (8/5): Very good -
- Karen (8/5): Very good - Good location, comfortable
- Mary (8/5): We did know they were there - N/a The laundry trough very, very slow to drain. The stairs challenging but
- Vicki (10/5): Exceptional -
- Diane (10/5): Exceptional -
- Louise (7/5): Comfortable but could be better - The yard space is good but unfortunately the lights in the yard are not working. Hence we could not use the space in the night Maintenance of the place is not as good. Door to the bedroom cannot be close (faulty door knob). Blown lights not fixed eg the living room, yard lights
- Karla (7/5): The location was fantastic and there was plenty of room for our family. - The location was amazing The reverse cycle unit didn't work so well but the oil heaters definitely helped
- Jane (7/5): Good - Location was fantastic
- Jessica (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dinh (7/5): Good -
- Leilani (8/5): Very good - The shower drips when switched off, probably need to change the washers.
- Hannah (10/5): A great house so close to the Main Street, loved the enclosed terrace with the outside bath - So close to the Main Street and it had everything in there that anyone would need, very well equipped. Even had a high chair, kids games, books etc.
- Louise (10/5): Exceptional -
- Georgina (6/5): Good but not brilliant. Cosy - Beds were super comfy, complementary wine, location, sofa nice and big. No pods for coffee machine, no spare towels, cobwebs on chopping boards and a lot of the kitchen area. rude cleaner
- Joneses2 (9/5): Superb - Cosy town house close to the main street.
- Simone (8/5): it was a great location, close to town fore walking into, I would recommend this property - when we arrived we opened the lock box and obtained the key, the key did not work, it was for the wrong property, luckily I got hold of the agent at swell stays and they gave us a hidden key(not very well hidden) bt the way. The sliding doors on the side of the property were all unlocked as well. We got the right key the next day.
I think a handyman should go through the property, the side gate does not close properly, the bathroom tap was so loose the whole tap moved when trying to switch on. Some of the kitchen cupboard doors need adjusting as you need to lift them to close them
- John (8/5): Very good - Location, price and amenities.
- Tatjana (9/5): Superb -
- Yap (7/5): Cute and lovely house in good location. - Property is cute and lovely. Good location with plenty of restaurants and shops, all walking distance. House surroundings need some cleaning. Plants in the garden needs some tlc. Lots dying.
- Tim (9/5): Short 3 min walk to town, but super convenient, clean and comfortable - Excellent- close to town while being quiet.
- Thomas (9/5): We really enjoyed our stay and the neighbour issue was unfortunate. We would stay again though. - Great size with all the facilities we needed. Close to town centre. Noise from inconsiderate neighbours moving out.
- Gonsalves (9/5): Our stay was very good especially not knowing what was around ..was close to central town - The location was perfect Third bedroom hard to open cupboard
Rooms bit warm no ceiling fans
- Scott (6/5): Pleasant - Bed was old, facility was well worn
- Marion (10/5): Charming house right in the town center, with everything you need - Everything, it was great Nothing
- Michelle (9/5): Superb - Fantastic location within walking distance to everything in town. The floors of the bedrooms were a bit creaky.
- Janelle (9/5): Superb -
- Nik (10/5): Nice house for family - Love the concept of veggie farm at the backyard
- Kai (7/5): Acceptable stay with sufficient utensils for cooking - The bathroom is insufficient for 6 adults
- Ashley (8/5): Great location and most comfortable beds! - Location was amazing, cute little cottage. Beds so comfortable! Much more run down than appears in photos.
- Daniel (9/5): Cosy but spacious house in a quiet location just minutes walk from the town center - Location was a minute's walk to the nearest restaurant and 5 minutes to the town center.
Nicely furnished
Well equipped kitchen and gas BBQ
Coffee machine (it's not Nespresso compatible tho!)
Complimentary bottle of wine! Nice touch
Beds were comfy
Bathroom upstairs was spacious and clean
Additional toilet downstairs was a plus Kitchen extractor was not working
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Brian (7/5): Quirky, cosy and comfy. - Exceptionally comfy beds
Good quality bed linen
Location Only overhead lights. A bit of ambient lighting such as table lamps would just add to the cosiness.
- Melody (9/5): Superb - awesome stay , we are all very happy everything was awesome Car park very narrow , especially we had quite big car. May be need to cut hanging trees where on the way , than would be easier and able to see clearly as the driveway is going down
- Oma (9/5): Superb - Fantastic location. 5 min walk to eateries, supermarket, bakeries. Love the garden area with the plants and herbs. Lovely touch with the outdoor bath. Beds were super comfy. Great space with 5 adults. Kitchen facilities are excellent. The lounge and dining area are spacious. Very quiet and secure.
Thank you for the complimentary wine. It was delish. 😊 Few cobwebs inside, the house was a little smelly when we walked in. Bedroom door needs a bit of oil as it sticks.
- Robyn (9/5): Superb - Very comfortable and roomy and in a fantastic location. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The outside bathtub surrounded by lavender was beautiful.
Also the complimentary bottle of wine was a lovely touch. The floorboards upstairs were a bit creaky and the bedroom doors were a bit stuck but that didn't affect us really.
- Nalize (8/5): Very good -
- Siew (5/5): Stay at The Veggie Patch. - Good location. Convenient to walk to town area for meals. Easy to travel to around. Overall, stay is pleasant. Staircase is narrow and floors upstairs has squeaky sound when you walked. There is no door lock to the bathroom and toilets. Garage too narrow.
- David (5/5): Passable -
- Johnny (8/5): A nice apartment in a central location - Location was fantastic Noise floor upstairs
- Vikki (6/5): Lovely weekend away, perfect location for walking to town - Great location and very comfortable space for our group. Comfy beds, nice little outdoor area, cosy living area, well fitted out kitchen The neighbours were very noisy every morning from anywhere between 2am - 5am, with vehicles and loud talking which interrupted our sleep
- Anonymous (10/5): Excellent - Location, cleanliness.
Very handy to everything.
Well equipped. Not really a dislike, but a broom to sweep floors would be good.
- Wayne (7/5): Great location, clean property. I probably wouldn’t stay here in the middle of summer as they have no Aircon in the bedr - Location
Had everything we needed The noise from the side street traffic.
No Reverse cycle upstairs
- Virginia (6/5): Ok while out but felt trapped when home blinds down. No wheee to sit undercover out back. - It was a good location upstairs was fresh and clean. Linen immaculate. Outside will be nice in summer. Heating downstairs does not run warm. Had to bring heater from upstairs downstairs. No undercover area outside to sit. Next door had a clapped out huge 4wd out front of the house which encroaches on your entry. They also have crap everywhere looks like a junk sight.
So security felt an issue. No key to security screen so could not lock as we left. Top dead lock also did not work from outside. You also could not have blinds open upstairs as it was an eye saw!!Garage does not lock. Out front needs a weed and a sweep.
- Koh (10/5): Exceptional - The location was great! We love how cosy the place is! Nil
- Kimmy (8/5): Very good - Cute clean and tidy. Close to town Being close to town and value for money
- Shane (5/5): Nice clean little house very closets all things Margaret River. - Location great, clean and comfortable. Fridge door did not have any shelving so difficult/impossible to stand any milk containers, bottles etc in fridge.
No locks on any of the bathroom or toilet doors.
Shower cubicle leaking around the bottom.
Would be good to have a teapot.
- Regina (10/5): Comfortable, clean and great location close to main street. Met all our needs. - Very comfortable, amazing location. Nice to have a couch big enough for the whole family to sit together.

- Anu (8/5): Very good -
- Amanda (10/5): Great house great stay - So handy to walk to restaurants and shops great location
- Daniela (9/5): Superb - Comfortable lounge and dining setting. Great size bedrooms. Fantastic location in regards to town centre. Everything in walkable distance and cosy Italian restaurant close by. Noisy all night. Major car park in front of it. People slamming doors all night. No veggies or herbs growing as the name suggests.
- Ann (9/5): Superb - Perfect location.
Comfortable.
Everything we needed.
- Marie (8/5): great location - very quiet & peaceful where it is located the key pad lock, was getting a problem & when I called the after hours customer 10 times they didn’t reply & only got back to me the next fay around 5 pm
- Vera (5/5): Passable -
- Grant (7/5): Good weekender - Loved the location Lack of air conditioning upstairs, they had fans but needed extension leads which weren't provided. Pod coffee would be nice and a full length ironing board :)
- Laura (9/5): Post Wedding Wind Down with Friends - Location was amazing - walking distance to everything along the main strip.
Three good size rooms and super comfy beds. Everything nice and clean.
Lounge area was perfect for chilling under a blanket with a glass of wine on a cold night. Felt very homely. Wish it had been warmer weather so we could have enjoyed the outside courtyard. Just to be picky, the surrounding driveway area has been better days and the sprinkler every morning sprays straight across the doorway.
- Michelle (7/5): Good -
- Xanthe (9/5): Superb - Central location, easy access from bus station and close to amenities and hikes. Much easier to get around if you have a car. Taxi service almost non existent. Book restaurants early as they get booked up early and also close early!
- Rebecca (9/5): Superb -
- Annette (8/5): Very good -
- Charmaine (8/5): great stay with friends , comfy accommodation, would stay here again. - great location , comfortable beds & lounge needs a new selection of all drinking glasses. taps in laundry make knocking sounds when turning them on.
- Olivia (9/5): Superb -
- Lawrence (10/5): Exceptional -
- Geraldine (8/5): comfortable enough but not quite what we expected for the price. - Garden could do with a clean up (no herbs or veggies) The property looked “tired” and could do with some painting and TLC. The bed was difficult to make with a heavy mattress(not the most comfortable) and bed ends.
