Guest Reviews
- Lisa McLeod (10/5): The Best Little Cottage in Hepburn. - Everything.
So many lovely, thoughtful touches to make us feel really welcome and at home.
Thankyou so much. That we had to leave ! 😊
- Victoria (10/5): - It was in an excellent location, dog friendly with a secure yard so I could feel safe letting my dog out to wander. The rooms were cosy but spacious enough for our small group. The garden at the front from the gate was perhaps a bit too overgrown. In the few weeks ended up getting a bit damp going to and from the cottage.
- Anne (5/5): Great location, well equipped kitchen and more suited to dog owners - We loved the location, so close to everything. We found the kitchen well equipped and enjoyed the coffee machine. We found the parking was awkward at times and the path to the cottage was overgrown. As it was rainy we got wet going to and from the cottage. The cottage was also dark with shrubs close to the windows. The lounge furniture and beds were not that comfortable.
- Helen (9/5): The cottage is in a central location, it had lots of character and was very comfortable. - Very quaint old world with all the mod cons we needed Nothing
- Benji (10/5): -
- Glen (10/5): Well maintained and clean cottage. Would stay there again. - Quiet and secluded location. No traffic noise. N/A
- Carina (8/5): - Great location. Clean and tidy. Helpful property managers. Cute and private. Uneven flooring .
- Sharon (9/5): Secluded garden cottage - Gorgeous little cottage, fully private in a lovely garden. Had everything needed for a delightful stay, even my pooch was provided with dog bowls. The wood fireplace was a comforting touch... A couple of steps inside the cottage could be an issue for people with mobility problems, eg: bad knees
- Mia (9/5): -
- Stephanie (9/5): Lovely cottage and ambience, most enjoyable - Welcoming quaint cottage with everything we needed for our time away Not applicable
- Brian (9/5): Excellent, - Location, fridge goods, comfort Parking, however the instructions were clear
- Christine (5/5): Disappointed - Close to city centre and heating good Parking on verge/footpath, not secure and hazardous getting in and out of car especially in wet weather. The distance from the car to the house was a reasonable distance in the wet. Unable to observe car from house.
Lots of lint and dust under bed which may have attracted the cockroaches. Believe charges excessive considering the above, not value for money
- Tracy (10/5): - Very clean and comfortable cabin. Great location.
- Gerard (10/5): Delightfully cosy. - The cosiness and privacy of the property were perfectly delightful. Faultlessly clean and excellent instructions on operating all devices and equipment were provided. No complaints.
- Wolfe (9/5): Perfectly located cozy country cottage - Sweet, cozy and very comfortable. And warm! Fireplace, air con and electric blankets give plenty of winter options.
Location was incredible - so close to everything and great to have brochures for various sights / restaurants / maps in the house - ended up visiting many more places than planned.
Good communication with the hosts. Lovely country get away, thank you! Only thing to note is the parking on the front path and walk down to the cottage - little difficult with heavy luggage but not a hassle - only mentioning for people to note with any mobility issues.
- Cain (9/5): - Was an excellent cozy place with both electric and wood heating with well secured fences for our pets to run around. N/A
- Rhys (10/5): -
- MICHAEL (3/5): Jokers cottage, got me, sucked in - Not much, the fire Needs a lot of maintenance work, small kitchen appliances are very old , not enough power points anywhere, garden? What garden, outlook, non existent, had to park on the nature strip, long way to carry belongings to “cottage “, bedroom with spa bath!! Bloody ridiculous, amerture attempt and over priced property, would not recommend this place to anyone
- Julie (8/5): - The property had everything you needed ideal for a couple Unfortunately we experienced a power outage but it wasn’t just our cottage but all of Hepburn and Daylesford. It took a couple of hours to come back on so we missed out on the breakfast we ordered.
- Tayla (8/5): Very good -
- Cheryl (10/5): Excellent Holiday Cottage - The cottage is absolutely lovely.Clean, comfortable, all necessary utilities and warm as toast.
My daughter and I enjoyed every minute of our stay.🤩
- Amy (10/5): Cosy, comfy and relaxing! - Cosy, comfy and relaxing! The indoor fireplace, sunken spa bath and outdoor area were our favourite features! The hosts were very friendly, great communication!
- Moira (8/5): Good location clean comfortable a little over priced but maybe because Daylesford - It was clean and comfortable . Although could be cold had good heating and electric blankets A little worn in kitchen and bathroom
- Bc123456 (9/5): Superb -
- Fiona (10/5): Had a wonderful relaxing stay -
- Vic.b. (7/5): Good -
- Julie (7/5): Almost cute cottage - Beds and bedding were cosy, not far from Daylesford. Very clean Pics probably not very recent. I feel I paid too much for what we got.
A bit retro meets op shop, which is okay but not at around $350 a night.
Accessibility could be a problem for some, downward unsealed slope to the cottage.
Floor in the cottage is very uneven, with 2 steps down to 2nd bedroom.
Yes a spa bath in 2nd bedroom, but entry and exit from spa could be dangerous and challenging for some.
Probably not good for anyone with any mobility issues.
- Amanda (8/5): Very good -
- Maree (7/5): Good -

Well provisioned kitchen with a good selection of crockery, pots, pans and cutlery. Oil and vinegar etc provided. Lovely surprise bottle of bubbles and chocolates on arrival. Hosts very proactive and communicative. Loved everything.
- Susan (8/5): Enjoyable - The property was clean inviting comfortable the host was available when contacted Entrance was a little rough

- David (9/5): Superb - Lovely cottage with everything you could possibly want. Perfect for us and the dogs with the well-fenced yard...they were so happy there. Walking distance to everything Hepburn Springs has to offer, and Daylesford town centre just a minute up the road if you want it (we didn't). Highly recommend. We'll be back for sure.
- John (9/5): Superb - Lovely fenced front garden for the dog. Great spot for a BBQ.

- Simran (8/5): Very good -
- Barbara (9/5): Hosting great. House has quirky charm (spa bath in a bedroom); it's charming and reflects pricing. -
- Pam (8/5): Very enjoyable. Great location -
- Karan (10/5): Cute Cottage - Charming little cottage in an ideal location. We appreciated the chocolates and the bottle of wine. It’s pet-friendly, with a lovely outdoor space for our cavoodle.
The garden is delightful for enjoying a warm cup in this chilly weather. It would be wonderful to have an outdoor heater so we could enjoy a drink or two outside. Just a quick suggestion: it would be great to have clean towels available and to replace them when they show signs of wear.
- Helen (6/5): Nice change from tropics - Very quaint ,good position , cozy and nice decor , nice and quiet . Very tired and some of the linen /rooms didn’t smell very fresh, cushions etc. pillows way too hard . Tap was about to fall off in kitchen and in bathroom washer needed replacing .
- Charbel (10/5): A wonderfully comfy, cosy cottage - The cottage was lovely, and it was perfect for what we were after. Very comfy and cosy, good amenities, the wood fire was fantastic and it was great to be a short walking distance to Hepburn Springs and a short drive to Daylesford. Nothing.

- Joshua (10/5): Relaxing and perfect - Great and cosy Pretty dirty but old house so is expected
- Yee (8/5): Nice short stay - Quiet and had everything I needed to recoup Floors weren’t even
- Laurence (10/5): Exceptional -
- Leanne (9/5): Superb -
- Meghana (8/5): Very good -
- Trish (8/5): Relaxing, would definitely stay again - Cosy, home in the perfect position. Loved the fire, spa a proximity to Hepburn. Nothing
- Tanya (8/5): Lovely cottage in a great location - Beautiful cottage in a great locations the bed was so comfortable. Easy access and pet friendly. My puppy loved the garden area.
- Melinda (8/5): A cute cottage which was very comfortable. - I enjoyed the different heating options.
- Strachan (8/5): Cute cosy cottage with a great open fire - It was cosy and open fire was great. The garden was lovely and we enjoyed the spa bath We loved everything about Bonnie Brae but we found that we were a bit cold. The fire was fantastic but The reverse cycle heaters werent warm enough to heat the rest of the house. The electric blankets however meant we were warm in bed
- Wendy (6/5): Pleasant - Bed was comfy. Kitchen very small. Good to have the fire. Some nice touches with wood for the fire. It was being cleaned when I arrived even though i advised arrival time. Floors were very wet and when I wiped them with paper towels they were quite dirty.
- Karen (8/5): Nice and cosy - It was lovely and cosy.. and conveniently located. Importantly, it was pet friendly. The long walk into the house..😉
- Janet (9/5): A lovely quiet spot with everything we needed. - Breakfast was not provided, but we weren’t expecting it Great facilities for our stay. We liked having two bedrooms. The hot water worked well and there was great heating when we needed it. Much better than a motel room. Close to everything. We even walked to dinner in town. A lovely quiet spot, just off the main road. We weren’t expecting the uneven path and uneven floors and the steps down from the kitchen, but we adjusted and it was good practice for us oldies. It would have been good to have two towels per person, but everything else supplied was excellent. A quirky little cottage , but just what we needed. Much better than a hotel room.
- Lolita (7/5): A nice little get away like a cozy home away from home with added little extras - nice touch - The location was good, it was cozy and had pretty much everything we needed… mum loved your coffee and her favourite drink is Yellow so you can imagine her excitement. I liked the music and that you could sit at the front to have a ciggie or at the side to eat outside… it was cozy and cute The bedding wasn’t very comfortable for me in the spa room (I had bought my own pillow which helped)… this is just a preference I guess and may be my age showing! I would put a little table in the back room as the bed side is teeny… somewhere to place essential items… and a clothes hoist to hang wet swimmers
- Sherry (10/5): Exceptional -
- Laura (9/5): Superb - Location was great, parking was not ideal but fine enough for two nights. The complimentary wine was a nice touch, and quick response when we asked for a coffee spot (which was closed for two weeks, but appreciated nonetheless). The main downfall of the property is how uneven the floor is! it wasn't a huge deal, but we certainly noticed it, and felt unsteady on our feet a couple of times due to the floor changing levels so frequently. Everything else was great though.
- Anonymous (7/5): Good -
- Alannah (9/5): Superb -
- Rachel (10/5): We struggle to find places so well set up for dogs and owners who are so accommodating. Our stay was a much needed relax - Being set back from the road was great. The veranda was a great spot to read, watch the dog and Bub play in the garden and relax. The enclosed garden worked brilliantly for us. We could leave the dog happily roaming while we were out with the veranda for shade. Finding somewhere that could accommodate us, our 30kg American staffy and our explorative 19 month old was fantastic. Our hosts were extremely accommodating and offered us an extra linen service as we were staying so long. They also provided a huge list of recommended activities and restaurants. The three bottles of wine on arrival with a box of chocolate was a lovely surprise as well! We were walking distance to the Hepburn restaurants and pubs and bathhouse and a 4min drive to Daylesford. The only thing we would change related to our specific requirements with a dog and child and that was the amount of furniture in the lounge which we rearranged during our stay and replaced on our departure.
- Karen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Scott (6/5): Pleasant -
- Charlotte (8/5): Very good -
- Steven (8/5): Cosy and Comfortable - The cottage was very cosy and comfortable. Was nice to have a log fire. Lovely garden that was well fenced that our little dog loved exploring. Good selection of dvd's and cd"s as well as Netflix and Stan. Although the bed was really comfortable, I would have preferred a firmer pillow.. Nice touch to have a complimentary bottle of sparkling - but a bottle from a local winery would have been a nice touch, rather than Wolff Blass
- Paul (10/5): Tranquil and peaceful stay close to amenities and eateries. - Private, cosy Nothing
