Guest Reviews
- Frederick W (10/5): - Just great Location with fantastic
- Dominic (7/5): -
- sarah (10/5): Unique Cottage - The Love Shack was extra special
Beautiful countryside, quiet and the bird song was exceptional
Very clean and comfortable
Perfect for our needs
Thank You Nothing
- Elaine (7/5): Great location perfect spot for a quiet weekend away - The solitude/privacy /kitchen was good /bathroom No prior warning about the drinking water
DVD player could get to work
The sugar jar was nearly empty and the washing up detergent/hand soap in the kitchen they should be filled every time a new guest check in
The frypans were not the best
Not enough wardrobe space we had to take out the blankets to make space for our clothes
- Karina (10/5): Romantic and peaceful gateway - The cottage had everything we needed and it was in a nice and quiet area. It is 20ish minutes drive from the main town. We saw some kangaroos passing by. The people are always polite and happy We didn’t pay attention to the instruction about changing the gas tank for the hot water and heater. Luckily we found on the last day and we didn’t have issues.
- Bereas (8/5): Very good -
- Sam (10/5): Exceptional - The nature surrounding the property is just wonderful. I saw a kangaroo, several songbirds, kookaburras, an echidna, and, well, heard hundreds of cicadas. A few mosquitos and lots of flies, but that's okay. Bed was comfortable, A/C worked well, and the bathroom was clean. Overall a wonderful stay - would love to stay again. There was an unpleasant smell that persisted at the property despite having the windows open during the entirety of my stay. I had to use face masks I bought from Bunnings for the first few days because it was giving me some mild throat irritation. Might have something to do with the septic system, which is understandable, but an inconvenience nonetheless.
Also this has little to do with the quality of the accomodation, but it being summer and all, cicadas are everywhere, and I suffered some ringing in the ear temporarily. If you're not careful you might suffer hearing damage, as my Apple Watch warned me - persistent exposure to sounds in excess of 85 decibels may result in hearing damage, and the cicadas were peaking at 92 decibels! Good thing I picked up some earplugs at the hardware store as well, and you might need them too if you are easily awakened, as these bugs start going at 4 or 5 in the morning.
A minor note - the collection of DVDs is impressive but I don't think the player is hooked up correctly; I couldn't get it to work.
- Sandra (8/5): Rejuvenating. - The cottage was warm and comfortable. Views of the trees and mts out the windows. Wooden floors. Quiet. No dogs barking. bed comfy and warm. All very private.Semi remote. Really good value. Really clean air. Evidence of wombats, but none cited (Sad so many casualties on the roads. Would hope there is a big conservation movement down there). Lovely winter hideaway, close to great walks like Fitzroy Falls. Frypans not so good. Could have done with a mixing bowl and baking pan.I am a bit of a cook. Minimal wifi. advertising gave the impression it was full wifi. No info re need to bring in drinking water until we arrived. Just would have preferred to know beforehand. Sad that there was little weed control being done down toward the water. Being so close to National Park, would have liked to see recycling ....we took all ours home.
- Robyn (6/5): Stressed due to the rain causing issues with access to property - Location was okay, Kitchen and bathroom facilities were lovely and modern Couch was very uncomfortable. Too low for me to get out of.
Access was across a floodway.
- John (9/5): We relaxed and soaked in nature in a very quiet and comfortable cottage. - A wonderful rural setting surrounded by birds and wildlife. Nothing
- Samantha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elizabeth (9/5): Cosy little piece of heaven - The setting is beautiful lovely views many types of birds singing starry nights
Well furnished with plenty of bedding very comfy bed well appointed kitchen great lounge good verandah to sit and enjoy the fresh air and peace Nothing really. I guess there is a remote possibility of the low lying bridge to be flooded ...but such a wonderful place for relaxing
- Jacqueline (10/5): Loved the whole area and the shack was just lovely. - Location and everything we needed to cook in was there. Would be helpful to replace some of the cooking pans as the nonstick bottoms on most were worn
- Lottie (8/5): Very good - The location was lovely, especially in the morning. The Love Shack had great facilities and was great for our 3-night stay. The WIFI was not great but the rural location was probably the reason for this. Additionally, we did have a small issue with the gas and hot water but was fixed quickly.
- Horton (9/5): Superb -
- Richard (10/5): Very enjoyable and peaceful stay - Nice house set in the trees with splendid views, quiet and full of nature. Very clean house with all the comfort and functionality you need for a medium stay. Internet and air con were very good. Really unwound there and close to the main village. Shower was fantastic too.
- Laszlo (10/5): The perfect place for a getaway. - The perfect nest tucked away in the valley for a quiet getaway. The cottage was clean, well set up & comfortable. There is even a Dirty Dancing DVD for a cosy night in. KV village is 10min drive away with a few nice little cafes and restaurants. We had a wonderful stay and will book again. I can honestly say that there was nothing we didn't like.
- Wendy (8/5): great comfy getaway - great little comfy cabin off the beaten track. lovely bush views. Lots of birdsong. no milk. signage could be a bit better.
- Stefanie (9/5): Superb - Loved the semi-remote location..... and cow, wombat, crimson rosella neighbours.
For a one-bedroom cottage it was super spacious. I was queen bee in the bedroom and my son on the four?-seater couch. Nothing I didn't like/love but give people a heads-up about the quality of roads and track..... my Honda Jazz would've been challenged with a bit of extra rain and usage of the track.
