Guest Reviews
- Diana (10/5): - Thank you so much to the owners and everyone involved in creating this wonderful hotel!
It’s a beautiful place where you can truly connect with nature while still enjoying all the comforts of modern life.
We received a very warm welcome and were treated to coffee upon arrival. There is also a complimentary boat service to and from the main dock, which is very convenient.
The breakfast was fantastic — generous and abundant. The fresh juices were outstanding, the coffee was delicious, and the food overall was excellent.
The rooms are beautiful and designed in a natural style. My boyfriend and I loved our stay.
There were also no insects, which is quite rare for lodges. The terraces are lovely, and the entire property is stunning, with a pool and plenty of opportunities to observe wildlife — we even saw birds, monkeys, and hummingbirds on the grounds.
We will remember our stay with great warmth ❤️ The internet does not work in the rooms — only in the common areas. However, this is clearly stated by the property.
- gloria (9/5): A soulful, high-value retreat where the incredible food, Abnan's top-notch excursions, and the comfiest beds make yo - We absolutely loved our stay here! If you value authentic charm and incredible hospitality over luxury polish, this lodge is a total goldmine.
The highlights for us were:
• The Sleep: Our room was wonderful, and the beds are some of the comfiest we’ve ever encountered—perfect for recharging.
• The Food: Every meal was amazing; the kitchen team clearly puts a lot of love into what they serve.
• The Excursions: Abnan is a top-notch guide! His tours were the highlight of our trip—knowledgeable, professional, and engaging.
• The Staff: The folks here are simply great. You feel welcomed from the moment you arrive.
It is such fantastic value for the quality of the experience. We didn't want to leave!
- John Santiago (8/5): . - La cabaña Todo me pareció perfecto
- BALÁZS (10/5): -
- Azucena (1/5): Una verdadera estafa!!!
- Jolanda (6/5): Pleasant - Garden was beautiful and the location was perfect. In the nature with lots of animals and in 20 min walking distance from town. On the way you can spot parrots and different species of monkeys.
The room had an aircondition and the view was beautiful! There are many things that need to be improved drasticly because it has so much potential.
The pool was dirty and not usable. Many things were broken and random stuff was laying around. The staff was not that dedicated and there were lots of small things that could be improved for an amazing experience.
- Juan (8/5): Very good - The property is well located near Puerto Nariño.
At night if you stay on town you have to walk about 25 minutes round get the property.
Jhon Jairo and his wife took really good care of us. The property could really use a manager on site, the workers are great and do their best, but they are so busy taking care of everything that you simply feel bad to ask them for something. They work pretty long days as they had to stay up until we went to sleep. A great place, but so much room for improvement.
- Rebecca (5/5): A comfortable place to sleep for a good price. Don't expect much else. - The hotel has a lot of potential. It was obviously invested in at the beginning with beautiful facilities like huge bedrooms, big and comfortable beds, air conditioning, a swimming pool, a magnificent tropical garden, a big common area etc. We slept well because the beds are big and sheets are comfortable. Having wifi is a fantastic gift in the Amazon. The prices are incredibly cheap.
If the owners decide to invest and dedicate time to the hotel, it could be a truly magical place. Everything has been pretty forgotten and the owners haven't even been there for months. They just have one local man working there and he struggles to manage everything (but he tries his best and is a nice person).
Go here because the prices are very cheap, but just don't expect anything much. If you go with low expectations- thinking of it as a space to sleep and rest, you will be happy. Don't bother with the dinners because they are not worth the price they charge and you'll probably have a situation like us where you get a plate with half the promised items missing and served an hour later than what you ask for.
I already told the owners all of this feedback and they say they are going to take action. The place really could be amazing but it needs their attention. I hope this review helps, as if you go knowing this, then you won't be disappointed since the hotel prices are very cheap and in general the bedrooms are comfortable (A/C units are noisy so bring your earplugs). But outside of the bedrooms, don't expect much else in terms of a hotel service (I would book your own tours through a local guide and eat elsewhere)- it's more like an Airbnb where you just sort yourself and use it as a place to sleep and rest.
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sam (8/5): Poor communication but a wonderful guide - Our stay was immeasurably improved by John Jairo who looked after us at the hotel. He ferried us back and forth from the centre, cooked meals, made coffee and took us on fantastic tours around the Amazon to see the wildlife. He had a wonderful laid back attitude and we were able to enjoy the stunning surroundings for as long as we liked. He also had excellent knowledge of the difference wildlife and bird species. The communication from the owner was very unhelpful and we would have been quite lost without John Jairo so a massive thanks to him! The owner sent some very confusing messages about us being picked up from the airport and having booked us ferry tickets but neither of which turned out to be true. She also wasn't available at any point during our trip to check us in. At the end of our stay we were charged a lot extra for services we did not use and had to communicate with the hotel in Leticia (again with the help of John) to amend the bill.
- Vincenzo (1/5): If you run an hotel in the jungle you should be there! - There was no one at the hotel when we arrived and no answer to the contact phone of the person on the spot. The owner try to help remotely but we had to leave before the dark and the place is in the middle of the jungle
- Alejandro (5/5): Passable -
- Ricardo (8/5): Very good -
- Wout (10/5): Great staff and a lovely place! - The staff was really nice and the atmosphere Nothing
- Pepijn (7/5): Good -
- Ricardo (9/5): Superb - Location Pool was dirty
- Laura (9/5): Very special. - The location is very good! Is not in the center of the city but 25mins walking and there is boats that can take you there in 5mins.
- Marco (5/5): The dilapidated hotel, disappoints guests with poor maintenance overloaded staff and faded charm. - Kitchen was pretty good. It took a while as they are short on staff but it was very good. Personnel are very kind and helpful. Boat shuttle to Puerto Nariño worked fine for us. Neglected and worn, the hotel exudes an air of abandonment of our Bungalow with faded furnishings and lacklustre maintenance, leaving guests disappointed in its overall condition. The dilapidated state overshadows any potential charm it may have once possessed. The beleaguered staff appears overloaded, struggling to meet the demands of guests. The pool wasn't opened when we stayed. On the other hand we heard that the AC rooms were quite decent.
- Fabrizio (8/5): Very good -
- David (10/5): Exceptional - The views, pool and landscape were awesome Nothing, everything was good
- Scott (9/5): Nice Jungle Lodge - Our stay was pleasant and relaxing. We enjoyed the room, the pool and the meals were delicious! The staff is very helpful and friendly too. Would have liked some place to hang clothes in our room. The kayaks were quite old. The pool could use some upgrading.
- Mat (9/5): Wonderful stay in the Amazon! - Everything was great. A nice location away from everything in the amazon. The room was great and the air conditioner worked. Bed was comfortable. Washroom was decent. Staff was helpful, and assisted with organizing tours. The breakfast was very good. Wifi was only available in the reception area.
- Katarina (3/5): Poor - Despite not being enclosed, the room was nice. The location has a nice access to the river. The staff was not helpful when asked for help/advice/suggestions. The place was pretty run down, and other accommodations provided better services for a similar price.
- Michael (8/5): Awesome location and value...
Good food. - Awesome location and value...
- Marian (7/5): Great location, rustic accomodations - The location is a 20 minute walk out of town, which we really liked. The property was pretty rustic and really felt like you were in the woods (the jungle, actually!). We also stayed in the more rustic circular bungalows which felt a little bit more like glamping. We were fine with that. There was coffee most of the time and the staff was generally kind and helpful. The town of Puerto Nariño was beautiful and we're so glad we stayed in this area instead of Leticia. The biggest downside is they only accept cash for payment of the hotel and dinner (if you choose to get dinner there). This was a real challenge because there's only one place in Puerto Nariño where you can get cash, and that's at the grocery store where they charge you a 7% fee. So make sure to get LOTS of cash before you leave Leticia! I wish the fact that they only accept cash for the cost of the room had been marked better on their booking info page.
Also, there are MANY bugs that bite (mosquitoes and other types of small gnats/flies) so bring lots of bug spray beforehand and be prepared to douse up multiple times a day, otherwise your legs will look like a war zone.
- Martha (9/5): Superb -
- Younger (9/5): Superb -
- Fawcett (8/5): Very good - Great rustic cabins with plenty of space. Your own out side bathroom. We did several of the tours offered and enjoyed them all. Upnan was an attentive host and we were well looked after.
- Brad (6/5): good value but lacking, with some minor chanes could be a great place. - Nice surroundings and quiet, comfortable bed, ac Difficult to walk to so we ended up having to pay for a boat ride into town every time we went somewhere. If you just want to stay at your place and relax this isn’t a problem. It is walkable but in the rainy season you really need rubber boots which isn’t much fun once youre in town.
The unit was in a nice location with view but everything is just run down. A coat of pain and refresh inside would go a long way. The staff were ok but we found them overall unfriendly. The food was ok but basic. Overall the value is there because this place is very cheap. Next time I would pay a little more for something a little closer/nicer.
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional - the staff is amazing and the place is exactly what they offer. NA
- Justin (9/5): Superb -
- Mariano (5/5): Passable - it’s awesome hidden prices
- Celine (6/5): Some improvements to be done - People were super.lovely and did a great job to fill out our requests!
Place is beautiful and right in the middle of nature !! The rooms would need a little bit of love with some repairs: mold on the walls, painting falling apart, swimming pool not usable, and the restaurant space have many tables or suspended chairs damaged... Sad in such a beautiful place !
+ You need to take a boat from Puerto Nariño to go and come back to the hotel so it can be inconvenient if you don't find a private boat to bring you back to the hotel... (Which is not that complicated if you pay!!)
- Shir (10/5): Exceptional -
- James (8/5): Very good -
- Bryan (1/5): Bad - The breakfast, the breakfast staff and the location were excellent. DOGS AND ROOSTERS!! Two things every hotel needs less of.. DOGS AND ROOSTERS. Neither one should be at a hotel, and less at my table begging for food or laying on all the furniture in the commons areas AND WORSE SLEEPING IN MY CHAIR on my porch and aggressive with me when I come and go. So if the crowing roosters don't wake you up at 4 a.m. the barking dog surely will, and even after mentioning it to staff they acted like the dog had more rights there than we did. It's a half an hour muddy walk to the pueblo and transportation after 6 p.m. is impossible and we were actually locked out of the property one night and I had to climb a rusty 2 meter fence to get us in. This property needs a ton of work. All the buildings lack maintenance and the pool,.. gross. Get your shots!
- Alejandro (9/5): amazing place - the area is amazing, view front the Amazonas river is the best! the workers are really nice! location and landscapes
- Cetina (9/5): Superb -
- Alberto (10/5): Exceptional -
- Silvia (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing staff, very helpful and nice. Location v nice you feel immersed in the amazon and the tours they offered were also amazing and well organised! We loved our stay Nothing, everything was perfect :)
- Adrien (8/5): Very good -
- Lacroix (8/5): Very good -
- Ysabelle (10/5): In the middle of wildlife! - The staff was amazing - the cook Joel, such a lovely person and his cooking skills were great! One of the native tour guides Billy, very accommodating, very knowledgeable. Claudio the manager willing to help and accommodate any requests we had. In the hotel you could see so much wildlife, we saw a family of baby monkeys on the trees, beautiful parrots, it was just incredible. The power went every night but I guess those are things you could expect being in the middle of the jungle.
